My condolences to your Dad on the loss of Rickie Lee. He passed away today (9/5/21) at the age of 72.
Hearing Mr Mangrum tell stories always makes me smile ❤.
He's so funny. "Our cat burlarin' days." 🤣
As a huge fan of BOA !! I would love to meet Jim whom is a true legend of southern rock and shake his hand!!! Thanks Piper for keeping BOA and Jim Dandy alive!!! He still has a huge fan base and more fans then he probably knows!!!! My older sister seen BOA in Duluth MN in the 70s and her and her girlfriends (driving to and chaperoned by my mother) came home and said what a awesome show it was. My mom even loved it!!! anyway i was to young but was home playing Raunch and Roll live . It was a big night and this concert was the talk of the town!! Miss those days!!!lol
Love hearing these stories, thanks for sharing , ❤️
Oh my that's hilarious! I bet he's a ton of fun to hang out with!
He’s a wonderful mess. Lol ✨
@@TheRealPiperDandy One of my favorite memories is mom playing High on the Hog when I was like 3 or 4 and singing along and me trying to sing along too lol.
Sandoz Driftwood hahaha aww! That’s rad!
Delightful guy. Down to earth and real. I'd loved to have worked with him.
What a hoot! From the heart...sincere...enjoyable...and all the while with that glint in his eyes assuring us - nonverbally - that he's way younger. in spirit, than he looks!
Another great video of ol' Jim..he's quite the character...I hope he lives another 30 years of good health and happiness because he deserves it. Big thanks to Miss Piper for another great vid...
Jerry D thanks for watching! ✨
Thanks! So cool! After all those years they finally got the sound system they deserved!
Absolutely love these ❤️❤️❤️ Please keep the Faith and keep em coming !!!
I would love to have a BOA Tshirt🎶🎶
I am really enjoying these podcasts and hearing stories from the Man himself.. he looks happy and seems very humble. Please keep making more videos. I look forward to them.
I know you collect BOA memorabilia and if you are interested I have some red suspenders with the band name on it you are welcome to have if you dont have any already. They are from 1973.
HOLYFUCKINGSHIT THATS KILLER!!! I can’t believe such a rad and kind offer! Omg!
West Coast I’m happy to buy them from you! Name your price! ✨❤️
@@TheRealPiperDandy I just need to know where to send them to.
West Coast YAY!! email me at piperdandy@rocketmail.com ✨
Man there needs to be a BOA movie!
Love, Love, Love these JD tales!
Thanks for watching! ✨
I remember seeing BOA on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert in the early 70s, and thinking, that's the craziest frontman I ever saw
Fantastic!!!
I live in Paragould and my family is from Caraway lol Love the stories your dad tells.
Ok, this is the second time your father mentioned the Burt Reynolds movie and based on my research of his word drops (McClusky, dead brother, etc) I believe he's referring to the 1973 film White Lightning. That being said, I just purchased the DVD and I plan on watching it to see the "man in overalls with no shirt on" and knowing that he is the representation of your all-powerful great-grandpa Jones, the moonshiner!
Noel Stefan Stoyanoff bwaaahahahaha! Keep me posted!!
Oh and I won't @@TheRealPiperDandy? Lol!!!
Hey Ms.Piper was wondering if your dad & the group ever played any Canadian gigs?🎶✌
Richie Lee 🎸🎶🎵🎼🙏 Ever
YaYa...
🤣😂👍
😂 we just stole from churches!!
😂
Fucking Awesome 👍
I am extremely upset right now! I just read the Wikipedia article about Southern Rock and there is NO mention at all of Black Oak Arkansas! WTF!!?? BOA invented Southern Rock!! They should be the very first band mentioned, but they are not in the entire article, ANYWHERE!
John Welch well anyone can write or edit a wiki page. It’s not ran or monitored by any fact checkers or professionals. So it was probably just made by someone ill informed. But... good news! You can edit that page to include BOA if you’d like! Facts!
@@TheRealPiperDandy I never knew that. I'll see what I can do. It's a dang crime that they aren't mentioned at all!
How about the Allman Brothers Band??
Wait wait, let me get this straight, your dad's grandfather's name was Jones and he was a bootlegger and he put the judge in office which is why your father (who's name is Mangrum) got off lightly? If so, how did Jones become Mangrum?
Because that was his “biological” grandfather. My grandpa took the surname of the family that raised him. Mangrum.
Ahhh @@TheRealPiperDandy, now I get it. Very very interesting. Jim Jones, lol, almost too good to be true!
Noel Stefan Stoyanoff hahaha right! 😂
I always love hearing those stories from your dad.
Me too, he’s a super fun dad ✨ thanks for watching!
