- Jim Dandy's First Impression Of Guitarist Shawn Lane at 15!! This is a radio interview from Florida Where he addressees rumors that he has a 15 year old lead guitarist lol. His New baby guitarist grew up to be a true guitar virtuoso. Shawn was an amazing guy and I'm glad I got to know him. Dad loved him like a son, that I know for sure. Here’s the first radio interview introducing him.

Jim to me saved the day at Shawns funeral. We all told of his talent and where all bummed out and Jim got up there and said I took that boy up to Detroit Michigan and we did a show and he had not cut loose yet. Well I was friends with Ted Nugent and that was his hometown of course so he came out and sat in with us. Ted looked pissed off and told me the kid can stay up there and learn something, it will do him some good, Jim. So Jim said, I walked over to Shawn and told him to just hold back and let him do his thing, this is his home town......... But when I nod my head at you, I want you to take him down. lmao Shawn had told me about trying to meet him backstage and Ted walked right past him and flipped him off and slammed the door. lmao
Kim Ebrite from Gainesville, Missouri was a good friend of your dad for a time. Kim and I made the trip to see your mom and dad and a caught a show at POETS in Memphis with Shawn Lane on guitar. Truly amazing!

Your Dad Jim Dandy was and is a super super intelligent nice guy. I love to hear him talk and voice his thoughts. I could listen to him read the back of a cereal box..Lol...Thanks for this video!
It seems as though BOA was very influential, they were Rock geniuses and were so ahead of their time...yet did not receive the fame and notoriety that they so deserved!!
BOA recognized the genius in a very young Shawn Lane and gave him the opportunity to rock in their band!!

My uncle played in your father's band in the 80s (Ready As Hell & Black Attack is Back). Biff the Beast Bingham I wonder if your dad remembers him haha. He's still kicking and shredding. He told me about Shawn Lane and his genius at such a young age. He blew everyone's mind. RIP Shawn Lane.
Lane was one of the best that ever lived! It's a shame more people didn't/don't know of him.

Yes he was. At least in our recorded history. Amazing player and person I met him a few times and he invited my wife and son to some over to his house. I regret not going. :(
