this is gold,...a treasure,.......piper,.thanx for sharing.
Met him and Rickey at a club in Florida. Jim was having a beer and gave up his table to us just before the show. Great guy and we all took a photo together!
Your Dad seems like the coolest guy and incredibly easy to get along with. 👍✌
We saw Black Oak 7 times in Oklahoma in the early 70s. I'm 75 and still love them today.
Seen this so many times but it makes it so much more personal coming from you, Piper. How can anyone not love your dad! :-)
Ya can't! Why try. He's awsome.
“Don’t let me do all the talking”! That made me laugh because your lovely Dad does love to talk ❤️ Love him xx
Pipper..your daddy is the best BADASS OF ALL TIME....you girl are sooo...lucky to be his daughter👍💓
Hi Piper...he seems very down to earth
He looks so cool, now that's a rock star.
Adorable!! ♥️♥️♥️ Hes a baby! I I imagine him being born exactly as he’s always been. So cool to see this.
A good ole boy by heart but a true southern rocker in soul
Oh Lordy our little group of teen girls went crazy when we first saw Jim Dandy on tv back in the 70's. We had never seen anything like him. He was gorgeous to look at and that voice..WOW!!!!
What a great idea for a channel. I don’t know how much old footage of your dad you have around but very cool little clip this was. Thanks for posting it.
Wow thank You Piper for sharing this with us absolutely loved it my moma loves your daddy big big Black oak arkansas fan .Love u Piper take care
Hearing words like "aerial" and "chewing gum" just makes my heart happy....he was big timing the crowd by mentioning a "color" tv.....Marantz makes the best amps too....thanks Piper..!!!!!
I know Deep throat from Linda Lovelace was probably played on this bus.I wonder what color TV shows they even watched back then Happy days was big during that time...🎼🎸🎸☀️
Lol I must be getting old, I knew exactly what he meant when he said Marantz!
@@peck404 Sanford & Son was one of my favorites back then. I guess this was around 73 or 74.
I had a Marantz Amp I use to crank up way high listening to my raunch n roll album, then one night lightning struck and blew it straight to hell ⚡💥💨🤬🤬🤬
Awesome 👍
A true and genuine person. BOA have had a big influence on my life.
Thanks again Miss Piper. I may never get the chance to meet your Daddy or you, but these videos are gems.
Love me some Cli-Ty! I watch this masterpiece about every six months and never tire of watching it!
His hair was always perfect.😊
Thank you for this!
Great, one favourites rock group!!.
I loved watching this! I was a big fan of BOA back in the 70s and met Jim at one of their shows in Baltimore way back in the 80s. Good times! TX for sharing!
My daddy was a big BOA fan. He used to sing Hey Y’all all the time when I was little so it’s like permanently welded into my brain 😆 I’m about your age and it’s so cool to come here and check out your content. You got good taste and a rad dad. Makes me wish we could all go back in time.
DAGMAR RAMGAD awww thanks! Your dad sounds pretty rad with some badass taste as well!!
Love BOA!! I've seen them many many times! These videos are amazing. Takes me to an amazing time of my life. Never met any of them or saw their busses.
MY JIM DANDY!! 😘
Going to turn some on now! LORD PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON MY SOUL 😊
A friend of mine owns one of their buses from the 90’s. Still has the BOA plaque
Jim Dandy is bigger than life and kind as a kitten:)
I love him! SUCH a lovely guy then and now ❤️ xx
Piper thank you so much for the awesome videos!
Excellent quality video, don't see that from the 70's/80's much as it's usually not as Clear as this footage. Your Dad Rocks with that glass bottle of Dr. Pepper...10-2-4, always a good time for One.
My father was John Trulove he was the one flying Butch Stone around, and I used to play on that bus and my sister used to brush your dad,Jim Dandys hair. Jimmy used to come by our house with Ricky Lee,Harvey jet, Butch, chicky Hawk. I sure miss Ricky last time I saw him he gave me a big hug And said I will always be family. My father actually found them that bus. My father drove for Greyhound for years and knew how to locate one. My father, Jim, and Ricky told me this story. I also knew Joe Brown, and went to summer school with his daughter. Keep up the good work Piper. These memories are all I have left of my childhood.
Growing up, I learned something from a song from BOA: He said: "Follow your own path, people!" To this day I still hear those words. I still listen to BOA!LOL
I talked to Jim once on the phone when I was in Texas...on my agents phone...so cool...
Sorry I’m late. This was great!! It’s great to see all the behind the scenes. Very cool. Thanks.
Saw your dad years back at the Biker Boogie in Springville Indiana. He was way older but he gave it his all. What a magnificent young man he was !
Time and aging stinks , I’m not far behind him, lol , it takes its toll but wow , he did great !
Thanks , this is great ! HS Class pf 1975 😘
Glad you enjoyed it!
👍little space ship on the highway!!!!!
Great videos , keep up the great work , your dad is the epitome of cool and so are you
When growing up, your dad's music was always my 'feel good' choice, and even today...... nothing has changed except for my weight and the grey in my hair.
Great video! thanks Piper! I met your dad many yrs. ago after a show, what a true southern gentleman he is! as were the rest of the band
What a nice guy
Tommy Aldridge is an excellent drummer 🥁❤ and your dad Piper is an excellent singer ❤ and the rest of the band is excellent 👌👍🏻👍🏻💯
that is one helluva BUS !!
Back then you were the shits if you had a color tv and a Marantz stereo. Loved BOA and saw them at August Jam at Charlotte Motor Speedway 1974. I'll never forget Jim Dandy waving that Rebel Battle Flag while performing Dixie!
I love watching these old videos, tell your dad ice gotten to know one of his old bass players pretty good
Andy Tanas
Love chatting with him about the old days
Luke Desselle will do!
He has some beautiful hair!
I’ll be 65 in November 2021. Black Oak Arkansas of my favorites back in the 70s all the way through to now My condolences to Jim Dandy n family on death of Ricky Lee Reynolds. Thoughts n prayers to Ricky Lee’s family and friends and the band family and all the fans. Fly high Ricky Lee. Sept 5 2021. 🎸 😢 💔 Damn you China Covid 😡
I’m from Arkansas and I definitely remember these dudes. I always thought Jim Dandy was the best frontman around. But honestly I used to kind of be intimidated by him. He seemed really intense. Found out he was as nice, and cool as they come after meeting him in the 90’s. Reminded me of a cocky rooster on stage. Salute JD
Wonder where the old Cly TY is now? I bet that old bus could tell some stories
Yeah if that bus could talk LOL oh my gosh x-rated..🤪🤪 I wonder what they watched on that color TV.
@@peck404 if it could talk they would be yelling for it to shut up.
Man! Haven't these guys been inducted into the rock and roll hall fame? If not, why the heck not? Love these guys and still listen to there L.P.s No one like B.O.A!
Coolest and baddest frontman in the history of Rock
You guys are so funny! I am a BOA fan-you ought to get these ride videos out to a bigger venue! Your Dad is a normal good ole boy!
Hey Piper....yo dad is so cool....
David Lee Roth owes this man everything. Jim Dandy Mangrum..
the REAL Deal!!
Roth felt identified with this man because he was just as full of energy and charismatic as David himself. They're both full of life. Even Jim said that David is different and has his own thing
I'd love to have footage like this for myself. I have a few videos but not much. My dad got me listening the BOA when I just a little kid. I remember having a pink 8 track tape of High On the Hog. I thought it was the coolest things them setting on the hogs back. I still own 4 orginal vinyl albums of High On The Hog. Being a Arkansas boy myself I can relate to the up bringing and having southern mentality. I live in Paragould just 30 minutes from Black Oak. If you have any footage you'd be willing to share I'd be very appreciative. Watch the channel since I discovered it a few months ago.
I have that 8-track! Aww that rules!
@@TheRealPiperDandy I wish still had the one dad had. My first memory of BOA.
Lol dad had BOA on vinyl that he’d let me get out and listened to. Always passing down good music to the next generation no matter how much mom thought Happy Hooker was a filthy song. Lol
Nice setup!
Nice! I wonder where that bus is now.
I love his shirt. I want to meet his tailor
lol that would be my mom. She made all of his stuff out of Doe skin. :)
Been checking out b.o.a stuff thanks to Jeff Clayton and ANTiSEEN, Jim dandy had style to buuuurn
Dead Beatz oh hell yeah, I love ANTiSEEN!
A rolling pharmacy of VD and penicillin! Tommy and Ruby conceived Carrot Top on there when they hit an unexpected speed bump one night.
Oh man! That is some cool shit! Is Ruby your Mom?
Nope. My mom is fancy Nancy. They were married over 20 years now they’re best friends. My mom was married to him from the mid 70’s to almost the mid 90’s.
That’s awesome! That’s a song too, right? Forgive me, I’m old!❤️
@@damonswanson3156 yep! Sure was.
👍
Hey Jim how do you tune a washboard you know I am just kidding!
Yeah they call me....
I really like the cave man he said to even had microwave my parents own one of the first Radio Shacks I saw the first home computer that Tandy 2000 but that bus is like psycho cool and I went to car shows back in the day World of Wheels Kansas City saw Chuck Berry saw the Jaws trike you rode in its mouth velvet 20 ft long the tail lit up with lights that flashed all over yeah the old kind of light bulbs yep I looked through the window
Whatever happened to that bus? Probably in the woods somewhere
Wonder where that bus is now
Is that place on gaither mountain in boone county , Ar ?
Piper , ask you r dad for me & let me know what he says … The devil has his body , & ythe lords got his mind … who has his heart?
