Hey guys!! I'm giving this idea a test run, do you guys WANT a riding in cars with Dandy's series to happen? please leave your opinions and ideas below, I'd love to hear all of your input!! I hope you enjoy this video, I will also be releasing a few small wee videos of deleted funny scenes in a few days just to tide y'all over hahaha and as always, remember, KEEP THE FAITH!! WE NEED IT!!!

I remember your Dad performing at the Kingfish in Baton Rouge around 1976 people threw a reefer to him and he walked around the stage striking a lighter. He was badass. Best live show I ever saw! Thanks for sharing your dad with us the fans.

1972. A life changing moment. Seeing Black Oak Arkansas for the first time at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino, California.
The next few years for me included seeing their shows at the Hollywood palladium, Long Beach Arena, and the California jam.
Those years I was fortunate enough to see Zeppelin, Bowie, Sabbath, Deep Purple, T.Rex, Humble Pie, Foghat, many many more, and NOBODY, NO BAND, put on a better show then Black Oak.
My daughters middle name is Starr to show you how much they influenced me.
Anyway, those were the good old days. The best times.
I appreciate all the good times your dad was responsible for.
Your dad is a living legend.
I am a Black Guy that grew up on Rock and Roll, and I loved Black oak Arkansas, Loved Your dad, the Band, and Ruby Starr, some of the best shows of my life...
Love seeing you spend time with your dad. He sure loves you - great family time. And the "oh crap" handles....my daughter cracks up and I grab it in her car and hollar. lol

I've been a BOA fan since my teens in the mid 70's. I love seeing you and your dad together...I can tell how much he means to you and it's quite endearing. He's seen a lot in his days but perhaps seeing how much he means to you is the most important thing for him now !
Piper I just found you. i was scrolling around CZcams and that’s how I found you, I was going down memory lane listening to your dads music . I worked for a sound company that did the sound for the band and I got to meet him in 1999/2000. It was the best concert of my life. The whole audience was entranced by his ability to tell a great story and the music. The audience was 100% bikers and numerous different clubs . I will forever remember Jim Dandy and The Wild Bunch !! I think
people don’t realize that Jim is just like the rest of us, we all have our struggles . Hope he got the things he needs to live a comfortable life ( I do not doubt that you are making sure of that, you’re a great daughter!!!) send your dad a hello from a admirer in Minnesota . Peace 💕❤️💕

How I enjoy these vids! You are blessed to have this relationship with your dad. I was 22 when my dad passed. How I wish I could just drive and chat with him today.
YES!!!!!! Piper, you only have limited time with your Dad and you'll be SOOOO glad you have these to look back on someday. You should record every bit of family history and his professional history that you can. I wish I'd done that with my older family members.
Anything you can do to document your parents. DO IT! Time is short. And you and your siblings will cherish them..
And you might look like your mother. But, your body language is like your dad.

I can see it now..a reality show, "Livin' a Dandy Life!". The first LP I ever heard was the live lp, "Raunch n' Roll". Fell in love with them..I only wish I had been a sound engineer then. I recently retired from the music biz after 47 years as an engineer.
yes . dads and daughters . its priceless. im 53 years old and my daughter has been in north carolina for quite some time. i live in saline county arkansas. she is 30 yr old. so yes dads and daughters.

I got to meet Jim in Wheeling WV - in about 1982-83 after seeing them every year in the 70's - After seeing them the first time - I went home on Spring break and bought a Gibson ES -355 with the money I earned from mowing 400 lawns - my mother was shocked - great Cherry Guitar - Keep Rocking-

We used to measure car ride distances by the number of doobies required for two people on the trip. For instance, Cincinnati to Indianapolis was a 2 Doobie ride , or about 100 miles, unless you took back roads ( which we often did) then it's a 3 or 4 doobie distance. Also it may depend on what you intend to do once you get there. If you're going to a concert or ballgame it's as many as you can smoke. My brother and I once enjoyed a 7 or 8 doobie ride from Cincinnati to Louisville and then to Bloomington Indiana

Thank for your vids Piper. Your dad left a strong impression on me, in the early 80's. I know that that was not when he was popular, but I used to listen to a lot of older music when I was young. A few years ago when I was driving through Arkansas, I drove through Black Oak just to check it out. There is nothing there. I even went to Oakland where his old community was, it is a fishing resort now. Have you ever been there?
