Ahh, the red flaming robot that transforms into a futuristic looking wedged shaped car, the Hotrod that everyone likes!
I actually love the way his legs are done, because they way they transform allows you to paint or sticker parts of the outside of the lower boot and *the entirety of the inner boot* to match, as those are all covered in the alt mode.
My only real complains are the use of bright yellow POM in areas where it shouldn't be. I understand why there's some in the chest (as there's two holes that they fill in in alt mode, kind of clever), but for the price I'd have preferred they use red rather than yellow and grey POM for everything else.
The toy that got me on the spending spree to collect transformer toys.
Me too! 6 months ago I didn’t know what a MP Transformer was. Now... well, I just bought a glass shelving unit to serve as a display case.
I usually read Transformers Reviews (mostly Toybox Soapbox and Plastic Spark) during Lessons because i'm weird, and i wish Blogspot wasn't blocked so i could read yours

Personally I think this looks better than both the fans toys and takara mps
I wonder are they gonna make a ko oversized to masterpiece scale that would be very interesting.
It doesn’t look better in hand, though the shape of the chest is nicer.
@@tawdryhepburn4686 I now have the figure and i still say it looks better than both mp versions though I can’t say the same about the quality cause I don’t have the mps there probably both bettter quality. I really like the transformation for the ss86 figures and it feels like a good figure but not mp quality(not takara hound quality)
@@nylok4566 MP28 is absolutely worth it. One of the most awesome toys I have ever held in my hand.
I got this guy on Monday and like him a fair bit. Got one knee that's slightly looser than the other and some worrying stress marks at the ankle though. Do think it's pretty great to be getting figures this sleek with such clever transformations at nice, non-bank breaking prices.
Very nice review, I appreciate all the comparisons. This is the only Hotrod I have, I just starting collect MP in the past year so I haven't had an opportunity to pick up an MP Hotrod, so I'm pretty happy with SS86 Hotrod.

I bought two and the same problems with the lower leg not clipping in. Sucks but I think he’s an awesome figure

Im interested in seeing whether the arm sections in his alt mode not fitting together properly is a QC issue? Mine fit perfectly and he rolls confidently on all four wheels, it looks like the shoulder section is maybe too stiff to sit properly without pushing itself out of allignment? Cos yeah all of it slots together absolutely perfectly on mine. Must've got very lucky as I've seen MOST images of the figure not fit together well at the front.

This is way way better than the official and 3rd party masterpiece.
Not a single masterpiece or 3rd party figure can do a "T" pose.

In the film *that this toy is supposed to be modeled after*, Hot Rod (and even as Rodimus Prime) is a magenta robot.
Not red.
Not Maroon.
Magenta.
Hell, Hasbro actually was going to make him in magenta initially, and then changed their mind so late, the original run stickers were never updated (which is why the sides of vintage G1 Hot Rods have magenta sides, to match the original color).
@@USSMariner the magenta just looks better, the orange and yellow pop more, with the red or orange or whatever they make him everything kinda blend together

The big yellow hinge on top of the car just blows it completely. It bugged me when I first saw it and my feelings haven't mellowed. It's so obviously stupid and I can't get past it. Why? Just, why?
It’s a stronger plastic. And painting a central joint would be foolish.
Ah, a Sixo Generations review! Going on about how he only begrudgingly wants to check it out, being hyper critical as opposed to his more broad review style with MPs and 3P MPs and just generally pairing every positive with a negative.
The shame of it is that his photography and reviews are broadly very well done and a nice change of pace from the YT norm but unfortunately he seems to get off on pissing on Generations releases that are widely celebrated.
