    Great video. Thanks. I just got a 580b. Need to do all the fluid changes. My radiator was leaking coolant into the trans fluid. New radiator is installed and I need to drain trans and filter housing. Will run on fresh oil for a few days and then drain again and put in a new filter. Cheers

    I have the exact same machine, very helpful video! But how do you change the transmission oil?

    • @FishHuntCookTinker
      @FishHuntCookTinker  Před 3 lety

      To be honest, I have never completely changed mine. I probably should. Along with all my other fluids, but just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Before I do my next big project I probably will. Wish I could be of more help. Thank you for watching and commenting!

    What are the signs of your filter getting clogged for your transmission?

    Im pretty sure the dipstick you pulled out was for the rear axle. mine has gear oil in that one. the dipstick in the front of the shifter is for the trans i was told

      @spacecat7247 Před 3 lety +2

      True. Use hy tran or tch for trans
      I used 90 140 for the rear.

    Hello sir, where is the hydraulic fill on this beast? I just purchased one the other day and can not find the fill for the life of me

    • @FishHuntCookTinker
      @FishHuntCookTinker  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you for watching! The hydraulic fill is on the left side. On top of the vertical reservoir. There is a fill level plug beside the grab handle you use to get on the back hoe. Above that on top is where I fill my hydraulic fluid. Mine has a large plug. Yours may have a plug and pressure relief valve. In the video at 6:25 you can see the fill level plug.

      Fish, Hunt, Cook, Tinker Awesome thank you soo much. I was able to locate it, mine had an actually pet com there instead of relief valve. looks like I’m waay low as I added about a gallon and it hasn’t even shown up when the petcock is open. I ordered a five gallon bucket, could this also be the reason why my boom will not go over center with enough momentum to engage the over center lock? I really appreciate your help!

      @FishHuntCookTinker  Před 4 lety +1

      Some how I did not see your response. Sorry for the delay. I doubt it, but possible if it is really low. It is hard to get it to lock on these backhoes. Takes some practice and often pointing the nose of the tractor down hill.

    What trans fluid are you using in the 580 B?

    • @FishHuntCookTinker
      @FishHuntCookTinker  Před 3 lety +1

      Book calls for Case TCH I believe. I have been using the Traveller Universal hydraulic and transmission fluid from tractor supply. This is not what it calls for, but the old buckets use to say interchangeable with Case TCH. I have used it for years with no issues. I haven’t even been able find Case fluid around here.

    How can you possibly look for leaks with that much filthy grime hanging on every square inch? And then try to work in that? Pressure washers are available for under 60 bucks on Homeless Depot sales! Sorry for busting your chops! PS. what does your tractor loader have for safety bars?

    • @FishHuntCookTinker
      @FishHuntCookTinker  Před 3 lety

      You look for the wet grime. Makes it easier. I’m just kidding of course. I am horrible about going 100 mph every direction. Often not taking time out to clean my equipment. I have a pressure washer which makes it even even worse. I just need to use it!
      I assume you are talking about rollover safety bars. The canopy is built heavy to cover that. I am not 100% sure if it came stock with the canopy. The previous owner was a welder and may have done some modifications to it.
