From the factory, these mini bikes do not have a tail light nor a brake light. It’s a safety issue and in some states, these are required to ride trails on public lands / state parks. This set up will NOT make the bike “street legal.” I encourage you to check with your state DMV or OHV agency for specific requirements.
All parts sourced from Amazon except for a heat gun from the local auto parts store and some wire connectors. Search for brake lever switch, 12V battery, light switch / toggle switch, and mini bike brake / tail light. Some may also be described as “ATV” or “dirt bike.”
Total investment was less about $40 and it took me about an hour to plan and two hours to do the actual wiring.

I got a monster motto with a 212 predator, I'm tying to get it more street legal with lights n all that can't find not one video detailed enough for beginners. This one helped out some.
You should make an installation video. Some of you are so talented that would really help people like me. Please make one if you can. Wonderful video
Please see link in the description for the how-to video.
Good clean set up man. Well done👍
Thanks 👍
Can you send the links of the stuff you installed please
Im waiting on a massimo mb200 and i ran into the same issue of no one doing it so ill probably be making one of my own for that along with some underglow
I have the MB200v2 doing the full street legal conversion. I have video series on different bikes. All mods and restorations.
Question i put a bigger motor on my mini bike how can i connect my front headlight to the battery and on and off switch i got the rear lights down just can’t figure out my big one
Great video. Wish you put links to what you got
Why does mine take off on choke when crank it. I literally have to run n jump on
Nice job, where did you get the fake gas tank your using for the battery box ?
That is part of the CT-200U-EX model.
You have know link for these parts
where did you get the led battery did you say you paid 12.00 for it or did I here wrong? thank you you were a great help have a super day enjoy your ride be safe remember your helmet.
There are several listings on Amazon for the battery. They are all the same dimension and voltage.
It's been about six months or so since I installed this set-up and there have been no issues with the battery. Of course, it really only drains when you tap the brake lever or if you run with the rear lights on. Should last a long time.
Thanks for your question!
Great info. Thanks bud. Anyway u can list the products.
The list is included in the description.
Great video for the beginners and don't mind the trolls, they don't have a life and just look for people to nit pic 🤙😁
Thanks 👍
Links where you bought the battery and light please. Really want to get these
Amazon for both, but you can also find the battery at most auto parts or hardware stores.
They make shorty levers for dirt bikes and that would be easier just to get a shorty lever and don't worry about drilling a hole or having to wedge that wire in the hole. So that might be a solution instead of those big long levers that they come with just order a shorty lever
Yeah, I was going the less expensive route.
What kind of battery is that and where can i get one
I found this one on Amazon, but you can find it at many auto parts stores or places that sell parts for tractors / lawn mowers. 12V is readily available.
do you need a plate for the mini bike cause I live in connesville pa I just figured to ask
It depends on where you live, of course. Some states will issue a plate fairly easily, but others want lights, signals, a horn, etc. Also, you need insurance if you ride on public streets.
In PA mini bikes can not be made street legal unfortunately
WHAT BATTERY DID YOU USE
Any 12v battery will work. Several listed on Amazon or eBay for roughly $15
I have a brake light and a 13,000 lumen mini LED light bar on my Baja I do a lot of night writing with a couple buddies in my battery will literally last almost 3 weeks with having it on during the day and at night when I ride so at least 3 to 4 hours each time I ride three times a week it'll last for almost a month before I have to charge it
Sorry I just read the info. I’m slow
Great video just record horizontal next time please
Yes, I didn’t think about that until it was too late. Thanks for watching and the feedback!
you might want to strap that battery down down some how
Velcro has held up after several months. I had some doubts myself, but I think the sticky on the back will come off before the velcro itself fails.
You don’t need to make them street legal unless your wanting to ride on the main road where’s cars ride on. However bike lanes are everywhere nowadays so that’s not necessary to make them street legal. And impossible really since there is no battery.
In several states, you need to qualify for a license plate even if you only plan to ride off-highway on public lands, which means you need a brake light at minimum. To go full “street legal,” you typically need more safety features such as mirrors, signals, etc.
Clearly, this is NOT impossible, as I installed a battery. Watch the video.
