  • I wanted to put out a how to video on adding some turn signals, horn, and lights onto a mini bike. I was searching for a how to video to help me wire up some lights, a horn, and some turn signals onto my Coleman BT200X mini bike and I realized there weren't very many videos actually showing what lights and horn they used. As well as it didn't show them actually wiring anything, and didn't show any diagrams or show which wires to connect and their colors. So this may seem very obvious and tedious to some of you that have done this before or already have the knowledge. This video is for a beginner and who is afraid to try themselves before seeing someone else do it with the same products. So as I mentioned in the video that most of this can be purchased at your local Walmart (headlight, 30 amp switch, motorcycle battery) and the brake light and brake lever with switch can be found on Amazon or other online stores. Hopefully this helped some of you, and please help me grow the channel and subscribe to see future video's! ‎@EbikesandMore

      Thank you, and most of it is customer stuff. I do E-bike and Motorsports Repair as a small business. Thanks for watching

    By chassis grounding you can ground each component without having to run a ground wire from the switch, Just attach the ground wire to the frame using the component
    mounting bolts.

      Thanks for watching, and thanks for the advice. I actually figured this out when later wiring my electric dirt bike with a motorcycle battery to run it's lights. I was just being safe I guess, and will do this from now on. Thanks again

      Thanks so much for the support, and it really means a lot. It's tough to get an audience to start off, and I hope to put out better quality videos each time. Thanks again for watching!

    They actually make a 2 coil that goes under your flywheel those engine only come with 1 coil stock and that’s why it will only trickle charge if you got the 2 charging coils I’d would be able to run everything you neeed and charge the battery.

      Thank you, and I actually sold this to start making room in the garage for winter. But I'll keep that in mind, because I'm sure I'll get another one some day.

    How long does your battery last before needing to manually charging the battery?

    • @EbikesandMore
      @EbikesandMore  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I would usually trickle charge it once per week. It depends on the capacity of the battery, but this particular $100 Walmart motorcycle battery will last a few hours or more depending on how many lights are hooked up and if you use the horn often. The horn really drains the battery. I have also hooked up an AC to DC converter off a mini bike flywheel, and connected it to my battery and it will charge it as you ride at high rpms.

      @@EbikesandMore Thats pretty good actually. Whats the longest ride you have been on with that setup?

    I want to run a power regulator from the charging coil to charge a battery only for a better light, can you simplify that for me, I’m not the best with this stuff

      I ordered an AC to DC converter on Amazon, and ran it in between the coil and the battery. It slowly charged the 12V motorcycle battery. But if ust you get a good enough 12V motorcycle battery that will last fairly long it will just need to be on a trickle charger once done riding. I've seen guys run batteries off their drills and not have any issue's running LED lights. The stock coil on the 198cc engine stock on some old Coleman bikes aren't really strong enough to run am LED without it flickering. But yeah, man, if you want to order yourself an AC to DC regulator and run it to the positive on the light and battery that will help slowly charge it when it hits higher RPMs

      Ok thank you I’ll try that
