Good work guys! I know you said you are going to adjust the timing, pretty sure you know this but just incase thought I would say it. Do a base idle reset. Probably will help you get a little better chop you are looking for. Again, great seeing another fox hitting the street hard.
You’re completely right! And I had not thought of that, we actually replaced the throttle body and it came with a TPS installed, but who knows what it was adjusted to. Thank you, and I’ll be sure to try that as well.
I think if you drop the idle about 100-150 RPM the cam will sound pretty good. Looked like it was at like 950 that’s a bit higher than you probably need with such a mild cam.

You’re correct! We left the idle around 900 rpm. I want to go back and fix a few issues and make sure there’s no more vac leaks before I bring the rpm down.
Hello buddy! Thanks for watching, the springs actually came with the cobra heads we installed, Im almost positive they are the stock springs! If you are using explorer heads, you can transfer over your E7 head springs, because people tell me the explorer ones are weaker.
@@MrBlitzkrieg1987 Yep, definitely heard the same thing about the explorer springs. We upgraded to a set of comp cams springs, they are supposedly for flat tappet only, but have the same specs as the TFS roller upgrade springs. So I think we are good to go.

Just dropped the smaller brother of that cam (E303 Plus, pn 8900) into my Mountaineer, with ported heads, headers, intake... also has an automatic, the 4R70W, but the vehicle came stock with 3.73s and it's also AWD, so we'll see how it pulls pretty soon!

It’s very possible, yes! If you go back a couple of videos you’ll see how bad the old lifters and cam were destroyed! This video is more of a survival story and the absurd reliability of the 302! The car is still running and pulls incredibly hard now! But we know that at some point it will require a stroker kit 😎🫡 thanks for watching
I put a mark on the block, on the distributor body, I also marked the position of the rotor before it was pulled and after it was pulled… still got it wrong 😂… I’m just not even gonna mark it anymore

Im wanting to buy the B303 cam for my 89 F150, what all did you have to replace to run it? Or is it bone stock from bottom to top and only a cam added, I'm just looking to have the sound, i dont care about performance
Hey thanks for watching, if you have a 302 roller block on your 89 F150 all you need to buy is the cam, unless your timing set is worn and the chain is loose. We ran this cam and it has slightly more lift than the original B cam with the stock springs, so most likely you won’t have any issues! Chop on buddy 😎👌

Definitely they do make more power! I actually love the way that cam performs, the car pulled pretty hard! The reason I called it a knockoff is because they used the B303 name to advertise is rather than making a name for themselves. It’s also a cheaper cam than the OG B303, but 💯 I agree with you it is a better cam and I would recommend it and personally buy it again without hesitation
Oh yes 💯 I know it’s important! But this car has been indestructible so far! And the oil pressure gauge has always been a mystery, I’m almost scared to put an actual gauge on it, because it’s been running great for over a month and if the car finds out there is no pressure, it will probably stop running that same day 😂

We didn’t get a cam just for cool sounds, our stock cam was trashed along with most of the lifters, this was literally the cheapest cam we could get our hands on quickly without having to install custom springs and roller rockers… guess that should answer your question as to why we didn’t get a custom grind to extract every single ounce of power out of a car that we weren’t even sure was gonna run 😂.

My current 89 LX goes 12.50s with a stock cam, on motor, full interior, all steel, and working 40 degree air conditioning. Do you understand now?

Since Ford heads usually have a terrible exhaust these motors benefit from having extra lift or duration at the exhaust valve compared to the intake

I have no complaints about the cam, it really woke the car up, Im 💯 sure that this cam performs better than the B cam, I’ve driven both, the problem is the B cam has a very distinctive sound, and this cam didn’t have that. At that price I would use it again in a heartbeat though
Im not affiliated with Summit or anything like that, yes the cam was about half the price of a B303 and in all honesty the performance that you get off the Summit cam is a level above what the B303 offers. The downside is that it doesn’t sound as good, that’s my only complaint
Yes sir, that is common knowledge, the cam we used wasn’t even a B cam, because it was too expensive, we used a knockoff summit cam because it was the cheapest cam we could get out hands on… the original cam was trashed along with the lifters and we didn’t want to gamble using a high dollar cam.
Sounds like ya got high idle Vac leak, timing off and yet you’re bashing the cam idle and chop. Do a base idle reset also. Theee cams are proven to make 15-20 Hp more up top range Vs the old cam designs. It’s not cheaping out.
That’s correct, I did point out those issues in the video, we actually already corrected them and the cam doesn’t sound much different than it does in the video… the B303 cam has a much better sound and that’s not just my opinion either. But yes this summit cam is worth the money performance wise, the car runs much better, but if you’re talking strictly sounds the B303 takes the win.

It has a mild sound, this is a summit racing b303 plus cam, it definitely doesn’t sound as good as the Ford Racing B303. But if you’re comparing performance this cam is a dual pattern camshaft so its much better at making your car move! Im not sure why you say it sounds stock lol, have you ever heard a stock mustang? This car has flowmaster exhaust, headers and you can tell it has a cam, but only if you know what you’re listening to.

Actually not a knockoff it’s more of a new grind based of of the B303 with two different durations rather than the same like the FoMoCo 303

But yes this summit cam is worth the money performance wise, the car runs much better, but if you’re talking strictly sounds the B303 takes the win.
It’s not a summit racing “knockoff”. It’s a new updated design of the B cam. You say it like it’s some Chinese knock off built with the same specs. Lol
Honestly, I think they deserve that one 😂… even though it is a better product and less expensive (it’s both!), riding off someone else’s success just to sell cams is not exactly a class move. They’re the ones that decided to name it B303 plus or E303 plus ect… the alphabet cams have proven themselves through many years, these are a relatively new product. I’m not saying it is bad (on the contrary I love the cam) but they’re still riding the alphabet hype, you get me?

Sounds stock
It has a mild sound, this is a summit racing b303 plus cam, it definitely doesn’t sound as good as the Ford Racing B303. But if you’re comparing performance this cam is a dual pattern camshaft so its much better at making your car move! Im not sure why you say it sounds stock lol, have you ever heard a stock mustang? This car has flowmaster exhaust, headers and you can tell it has a cam, but only if you know what you’re listening to.
