Just wanted to add a bit technical details here. A bit longer than usual posts but request you to read it, A Radar has a performance area called Sidelobe which is measured in Decibels. It is measured by how much energy is intended to other direction than intended and how much energy is detected from directions other than intended. This performance is very important for a Track While Scan Radar (TWS) as they use multiple energy beams to scan a big area while maintaining track on multiple targets using some other beams. Better sidelobe performance helps a Radar and the associated signal Processor to remove Clutter (Important for Look Down mode for rejecting Ground Clutters) and false signals. Normally Deception Jammers target Radar's sidelobes and try to insert false return signals, which they first identify by analyzing the Radar pulses and then sending a delayed pulse of same frequency and wavelength to confuse the radar. The Radar may either think the return as clutter due to excessive returns and it's processing computer will simply ignore that as clutter or it can falsely identify multiple targets. The performance of the jammer detects how efficiently it can detect and replicate the energy beams coming from the Radar. Now for a MSA Radar, changing frequency of the pulse takes several seconds, around 14 to 40 seconds, making them easy target for even conventional Jammers. For PESA Radars, it is in milliseconds. Our BARS has around 200 to 400 milliseconds. Since PESA can generate multiple beams of different frequencies in such a short interval, although a conventional Jammer can detect its emission, it is hard for them to insert delayed pulses in such a short time to the Sidelobes. For AESA Radar, since it is operating at multiple frequencies simultaneously, most of the RWR can't even detect it. Now Rafael, Typhoon, F-22 or F-35 use a highly integrated EW suite where each of the components in the avionics package, including the Radar, can work together. Once it detects the signal from a PESA Radar, the Jammer itself using an AESA antenna and it can actually generates noise pulses far faster than the energy beams coming from the PESA Radars and injects them in the sidelobes of all the radar beams for a period of time, making the Radar effectively Blind. Since AESA Antenna can generate multiple frequency beams at the same time, it can not only generate the pulse of the current frequency of the PESA Radar but also generates false pulses of the previous frequencies the PESA Radar sent in last couple of iterations (Say in a 20 sec period) from their threat analyzer database and send them too, effectively preventing the radar to use the previously scanned location stored in the Radar Computer. This is required as all the TWS Radars create and stores a Tracking Scan Map after each scan and then updates it.
And there may be a question that Iris-E has a range of 400 km against 3 m^2 targets, can Rafael's Jammer jam it from that huge distance. And the answer is Hell Ya', better than shorter range...Jammers work best at long distance as in longer range, the radar beam energy starts to spread more, deteriorating the Sidelobe performance, making it easy to insert higher amount of Jamming signal in it. In fact, in close range, Rafael's Jammer may face difficulties against IRBIS-E due to its sheer 20KW peak power which can 'Burn Through" the Jammer's power of jamming. In easy terms, at short range, the return from the target aircraft against a 20KW Radar will be so high, the Jammer cannot effectively jam it.

IAF should do a similar exercise too. On one side MiG 29 UPG and Su30Mki as the aggressors and on the other side Mirage 2000 and Rafales as the defendors. LCA Tejas can don the role of interceptor.

Rafale decision should be questioned. Rafale does not have anything over F-21 and for 36 Rafales you can buy 40 or more F-21s. Not to mention that the life span of Rafale is 9,000 flight hours vs. 12,000 for F-21s.

Sensors are capable and will give good coverage. However, I do not think Rafale does sensor fusion. Sensors are patched, but there may be blind spots and overlap. The perfect 360 degree sensor fusion is only done in the F-35.
Yes it does. In fact the only other fighter that has a similar level of sensor fusion is the F-35.
Rafale DOES do sensor fusion, but probably not as "deep" as the F35.
In IR detection, the DDM-NG located in the top of the vertical fin have a very good field of view on eachside. But the wings prevents them to see below the plane. Plus obviously the forward detection from OSF or Mica missiles.
So it's not 360° (what a bullshit to speak in ° for a surface covered, thanks Lockeed...) but something like 75% of it.

I find it funny how a small mention, not even a footnote of Su-35 you went on a rant ignoring the other facts, but since you dwell into that lets check what we know about that test. The rafale was put in a defensive position and the Su-35 was put in a offensive, the Su-35 was not made for this role and its made for a defensive role like russia needed it, its intended use was to be guided by ground radar with its own radar off to prevent detection via rwr, once close enough the IRST system would find and track the heat of the enemy aircraft and shoot it down, if first miss it will go on a full offensive, thats the russian doctrine, not full head on combat. They also havent accounted for all aircraft nowadays have rhe capability to "Lock On Jam" which would just make jam a big scream yelling so ya cant hear it, that doesnt account the fact a offensive plane has to keep its radar on to detect the enemy while the defensive can play passive and wait for rwr signal. Plus that test isnt confirmed to be true
