    Today we are stacking up the United States’ F-15E Strike Eagle against SU-35 Flanker, and try to determine which would most likely win in a hypothetical match-up.
    1. Specifications
    The F-15E Strike Eagle is the latest and all-weather multirole strike fighter derived from the F-15 Eagle, which has long been hailed as the most successful fighter jet in the history, boasting an undefeated air-to-air combat record of more than 100 aerial victories. F-15E was first introduced in 1989. Around 513 F-15Es have been built so far with per unit cost of $138M. The F-15E is crewed by a pilot and a weapon systems officer. The empty weight of the aircraft is 45,000lb and it can take-off with maximum weight of 81,000lb. The jet is powered by 2 Pratt & Whitney low-bypass turbofan engines, which produce around 58,000 pounds of thrust combined. These engines can push the aircraft to top speed of 1,875mph. With ferry range of 3,500mi this aircraft can combat within the radius of 1,221mi. F-15E can climb at the rate of 833 ft/sec and can reach at maximum altitude of 65,000ft. The fighter jet comes with 11 Hardpoints. The aircraft is also armed with a 20mm 6-barreled rotary cannon.
    On the other hand, SU-35 is based on Su-27 fighter jet. SU-35 was first rolled out in 2014. Around 119 SU-35s have been built so far with per unit cost of $91M. Operated by a crew of 1, the aircraft comes in at weight of 41,888lb and can take-off with maximum weight of 76,059lb. SU-35 is powered by 2 afterburning turbofan engines producing 64,000 pounds of thrust combined. With the help of these engines the aircraft can fly at top speed of 1,726mph. With ferry range of 2,800mi, the aircraft can conduct combat operations within the radius of 994mi. The jet can climb at the rate of 919 ft/sec and can reach at maximum altitude of 59,000ft. The aircraft is outfitted with 12 hardpoints in addition to a 30mm autocannon.
    2. Maneuverability
    F-15E's superior maneuverability and acceleration are achieved through low wing loading and high engine thrust-to-weight ratio. Low wing-loading combined with higher thrust-to-weight ratio enables the aircraft to turn tightly without…
    In contrast SU-35 has huge lead in this category against its adversary. The aircraft is an exceptionally maneuverable machine, also credited as one of the most agile aircraft ever built…
    3. Radar & Avionics
    The F-15E have been upgraded with the APG-82 active electronically scanned array radar. The range of the radar is classified. However, some defense analysts believe that this radar has far greater range and performance as compared with the legacy radars…
    On the other hand, SU-35 employs the powerful Irbis-E radar, which can even detect low-observable stealth aircraft, UAVs and missiles with RCS of 0.01m² at range of 56mi. It can detect 30 airborne targets with RCS of 3m² at range of 249mi and can engage 8 of them…
    4. Firepower
    The Strike Eagle is armed with combinations of air-to-air, air-to-surface and bombs on its 11 hardpoints. For BVR engagements, F15E can use AIM-120 with range in excess of 100mi. For short range, the aircraft can use AIM-7M and AIM-9X sidewinder missiles. The AIM-9X missile is capable to lock on to a target that is in its field of regard up to 90 degrees off-boresight…
    On the other hand, SU-35 has 12 weapon stations, consisting of 2 wingtip rails and 10 wing and fuselage stations with a carrying capacity of 17,637lb in combinations of rockets, missiles and bombs. At medium range the SU-35 can use K-77M radar guided missiles with range of 120mi. For shorter range engagements, the R-74 infrared guided missile is capable of targeting “off boresight”…
    Watch video for the detailed conclusion and know that which fighter jet is better? United States’ F-15E Strike Eagle or SU-35 flanker?

    After the collapse of Soviet Russia, US and former Soviet pilots held a friendly event in Russia where they showcased each others skill and aircraft that involved F-15's and Su-27's. From the sound of it, the Sukhoi's more than held their own. Eagle pilots looked surprised, startled, even embarrassed. Russian fighters, such as the Su-35, are phenomenal in their agility, and their ability to get to the fight quickly. Russian fighters are also very tough. This allows Sukhoi and Mikoyan aircraft to generate massive amounts of lift in a turn while having very little drag in return which translates to tight and fast turns. There’s AWACS, radar and electronic suppression and Wild weasels attack planes in a strike package but even before that there would be cruise missile attacks to degrade the enemy’s air bases and missile defenses. So it really come down to which Air Force has enough assets left over to detect and direct their fighter planes against their enemy before they are detected!

      Some maybe but not so much this one. Saying the SU35 can sustain supersonic speed without using afterburners is completely false. That would mean it has engines capable of supercruise which the Russians and Chinese can not develope successfully yet. Where as the prototype of the F-22 was capable of doing in it's first flight way back in 1991. Almost 30 years ago and the Russians and Chinese still can't do it. hhahahahaha makes you think, Wow doesn't it? Also trying to compare a strike aircraft that is 25 years older to a air superiority fighter in a air superiority role is not a very good comparison to try. They are not the same type of fighter. If you are going to do that, they you should also compare the two aircrafts strike capabilities. Since the F-15E is a dual role fighter then compare both of it's roles with the SU35. Which again the F-15E is 25 years older. If you think about it, wouldn't that be the same as comparing the F-15A with the Mig 15? They are close to being 25 years apart. Of course there would be no comparison between those two. The F-15A would completely destroy the Mig 15 every time. So based on just a couple things I mentioned, there doesn't seem to be a lot of effort in learning about these two aircraft. Or at least a lot of effort learning the correct things about them. Could this by why they don't have as many subscribers as you think they should. Cause most people see this?

      Well the F-22 is a super weapon. Not many would disagree about that. I never said it was untouchable. Every aircraft can be shot down. Some are just much, much, much harder to shot down than others. I highly doubt the F-22 lost multiple times in any excercises. I am sure they have lost a few which of course will happen. But I am just as sure that in every excercise, including the few when one was lost, that the F-22 inflicted much, much more damage on them. So there is little point in bringing up that they have been defeated because like I said, that is bound to happen once in a while. Also how do we know that those few defeats weren't against newer F-22 pilots flying in these excercises for the first time. Who knows what happened. With many planes zooming around the sky together, sooner or later one is bound to find himself on the tail of an F-22.
      Talking about the SU supermaneuverability, you are aware that what it does in air shows is not what combat is like. All those fancy tricks you see in air shows are all done at low speeds. Combat happens at much higer speeds. Attempting to do any of those things at high speed would most likely end up with a wingless aircraft. Or at least a blacked out pilot. Either way you have a russian aircraft going down. Besides I have seen the F-22 do the same things I have seen the SU35 do without 360 thrust vectoring. That shows what an amazing aircraft the F-22 really is.
      But since these two aircraft are combat aircraft, and in combat, with a well trained pilot flying it there is a much, much better chance of the SU35 pilot dying. At combat speed, the Russian aircraft lose their super maneuverability advantage. Also let's not forget that lets say ok the fight slows down. In order for these fancy flying tricks to work, the US pilot has to be stupid enough to be right on the Russian tail. It would be very careless for a US pilot to but himself in that kind of situation. Being the best trained pilots in the world, I am sure they know to keep their distance so that when a Russian pilot tries one of his little fancy air show tricks. All he has done was make himself a very slow or could even say a sitting duck of a target..
      So your saying the F-16 can out dogfight the F-22, F-35 and F-18? I mean cause you said the F-16 is the only aircraft that could stand a chance against Russian fighters. Well showing again your lack of knowledge here. First of all in the hands of equal pilots, the F-22 would destroy the F-16 and has so many times over an over again in excercises. Now that F-35 pilots have learned to fly their aircraft, they have been unbeatable. An F-18 is a extreme dogfighter and can take out the F-16. But in your opinion, the F-16 is the only american fighter that has a chance to win against russian fighters. hahahhahaha hear that noise. It is the alarm clock going off and time for you to wake up and join the rest of us in the reality of this world. Not the fantasy world in which you obviously spend much time in. Your forgetting the most important aspect to any fight between aircraft. Yes the pilot. You see American pilots are the very best trained pilots in the world. They not only have the most realistic kind of training available anywhere in the world. But they also get to train over and over and over and over again. They get to see why they may have lost a fight to someone and learn how to not let what happened, happen again. They learn and go over what they should have done and do it over and over and over again. No other pilots spend as much time actually flying and fighting and learning as american pilots do. They are also trained to fight every aircraft out there. They learn to win against it even if it is more maneuverable. Like back in Vietnam. The Mig 21 was much more maneuveralbe than the F-4. At the beginning of the conflict, american pilots were not taught how to fight the enemy. They only knew how to use their missiles at large, slow moving bombers. So in the beginning, the US air force and navy fighters could only get a 3 to 1 kill ratio. Once the Navy opened Top Gun and taught their pilots how to dogfight, even against more maneuverable aircraft, the graduates of that school started kicking the North Vietnamese asses getting the kill ratio up to 12 to 1. 'Anyway more maneuverable aircraft can be beaten and beaten regularly when a pilot has fought this same time of enemy already over and over and over again in training. Every american fighter is capable of defeating any russian fighter because of the pilot training. In the F-22 and F-35 cases, the combination of the best trained pilots flying the best available aircraft in the world, it is just about as close to being unbeatable as it gets,.
      As far as the F-22 being tracked goes, another thing I highly doubt. Maybe at very close range but highly unlikely at distance. Your sources seem to be more like wishful thinkers and daydreamers. Regardless of any of this the fact is the F-22 can be touched, but when touching back, many more of them feel it than the F-22 does. Oh and let's not forget that the F-22 is 30 years old. If other countries want to think their new to 10 year old fighters are just as good as a 30 year old aircraft, that is fine cause what is in the hangers at Area 51 and many other unheard of places, make the F-22 look like a biplane from WW1.

By then it is too late as one of its missles blows them out of the sky. That's it's purpose and the 35 does it very well like no other. It also is one of 2 aircraft that can go where it wants with impunity. We know the other. As a ground strikes aircraft the 22 is no match for the 35. And is no match in air to air against superior stealth and sensors of the 35. In other words the 35 even kills F-22's.

    Based on comparison here, i'd have to say the Su35 seems to have most of the advantages. The difference has to be Pilot/Training and or, some little surprises the F15s have, that would warrant the confidence of flying them in hostile environments. It amazes me that the 2 planes have faced off, i'm sure with the Israelis and the Syrians, yet no engagements have been reported. The Israeli success with the F15 is amazing, and a big part of its perfect undefeated score. With all these documented advantages, i don't understand why the Su35 hasn't gotten its "feet wet" in combat. Both airplanes are beautiful and kudos to the Russian and American engineers who designed such powerful and beautiful machines. Should present Jet age dogfight be propped up 1 on 1 against these two...? they'll exceed

    • @t74guard78
      @t74guard78 Před 4 lety +1

      Oh the SU35 can be beat in a dogfight by most US pilots. How, well they are the best trained pilots in the world and are taught how to defeat any aircraft no matter how well it maneuvers. Perfect example was during Vietnam. The Mig 21 was much more maneuverable than the F-4 and yet the F-4, by the end of the conflict, had a 12 to 1 kill ratio over the Mig. So as you can see with historical proof, aircraft with better maneuverability can be defeated by a well prepared and trained pilot. There is no doubt that even F-15, 16 and 18 pilots know how to defeat the SU35 in combat. I will agree that the Russian aircraft are the best air show demostraters on the planet. The problem is that combat and air shows are completely different enviroments. What looks amazing in air shows is nothing more than target practice in combat. Anything moving that slow, as Russian aircraft are while doing all that fancy stuff, in combat has no way of defeating cannon fire or missiles fired at it. He comes a missile moving at mach 2.5 and greater and your twisting and turning in a small circle at 150 to 200 hundred knots. You look great for people watching from the ground at an air show and you also look like a dream target for an incoming missile. Moving very slow and in generally the same area. Your dead fancy flying Russian aircraft and as you explode into a million little pieces, an American fighter comes zooming by at almost the speed of sound doing a victory roll. If a Russian aircraft tries any of those fancy maneuvers at higher speeds, it will most likely tear the wings off the aircraft or black out the pilot. Either way, the aircraft doesn't survive. So go ahead and keep thinking what your are thinking. It is very naive and only shows what very little you really do know about this topic.

    • @t74guard78
      @t74guard78 Před 3 lety

      @eddie money Not questionable at all. Got them from several different sources and question all you want, they are accurate. The Korean war US F-86 shot down 792 Mig 15 while losing only 78. At no time was any pilots in the Korean war sustaining an edge over American pilots. The American pilots knew when Russian pilots were flying the Migs only because they said they weren't as easy to shot down as North Korean pilots were. But none the less still shot them down at an alarming rate. There was no Russian pilot edge. Hell why do you think practically all the top scoring German aces of WWII flew in the east against the Russians. They were so much easier to shoot down than American and British pilots. Those are facts and not an opinion. All of it. Two of those German aces had over 300 kills each. That is a lot of burning Russian planes and pilots from just 2 German pilots.
      There are as in any Air Force, some really good Russian pilots. I am sure their very best could fly against any other countries very best. But when you take the average pilot skills in an Air Forces, the majority of them, the American average is so much higher than everyone elses. With all the years of actual combat experience to be able to throw in the training. With all the realistic training each pilot has. Fighting against so many different types of aircraft. Then being able to do all this over and over and over and over and over again. No other country does this for their pilots. Even if they can provide just as realistic king of training, which I highly doubt, they don't train nearly as much and as often. Interviews with american pilots after their first combat mission, they all have a common theme to what they say. "it was just like training. I have already done what I just did many times. This time it was for real though and that was a little scary.' I have seen this many, many times and just shows that an american pilot already has several missions under his belt even before he flies in his first actual combat mission.

      2. There are plenty of tactics available to counter highly maneuverable aircraft. It's not the first time the Air Force has had to fight more maneuverable frames. The Navy had to learn the hard way fighting those nasty Zeroes. In reality no pilot will ever fight 1 on 1. I think American pilots will maintain authority over the skies except for when they are outnumbered. Plus. Odds are on some of those missions that F22 support is just a radio call away or are already part of the flight group.
      a. No denying Russians make some amazing equipment though. Its a beautiful bird that is quite elegant and sleek.

    SU-35 is a more advanced fighter and if the pilot skills are the same, it's more likely that the flanker would win.

      I'd agree with that. Pilot skill being equal i'd also give the win to the sukhoi. The only chance (and it's not much of a chance) the F-15 would have is to keep the sukhoi at arm's length. Even so the Su-35 was designed to excel at all ranges. But if the Sukhoi manages to close in and force a close range dogfight then the F-15 is pretty well f*cked.

    Look at the biasness of the narrator....in every category tells us the superiority of the Flanker E, then says “however,.....” and gives a condition (which has already been told that Flanker E has superiority in)
