In 2006 the Valencia fans were promised the “best stadium in the world”. 14 years later that new stadium is still in construction.
Why is it taking so long?
    What stopped them from building?
How much is it going to cost?
    Euan McTear explains.

As a Valencia fan I don't want to see this video. I don't even want this stadium to be finished. Mestalla is a truly unique stadium with an unmatched atmosphere, with its terraces so steep they seem like a wall of supporters and seats so close to the pitch you can smell the grass. Mestalla is known as the 12th player of Valencia, the club will never be the same without it. If stadiums can have souls, this one surely does. And no amount of money can ever replace that.

Letting Benitez go and many sub par appointments after him kinda the reason.. Ranieri bring a lot of Italian dud (Fiore, Di Vaio, Mendieta?) with very high transfer, his successor, Ronald Koeman also did the same with Maduro etc.. After that the club has been in dire financial situation, hence peter lim able to swoop in and make matter worse by making atrocities such as appointing Neville..

Atletico and Valencia were of the same stature as a club. One of the main reasons Valencia has not been able to finish is the on field
Failings to qualify for Europa, UCL, Copa Del Ray, which boosts finances significantly. Simeone won La Liga, 2 Europa Trophies and consistently qualifies for the Champions League (making two finals). That’s the biggest reason Atletico were able to build a new stadium. It’s a very similar story of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. Although in my opinion Arsenal were a bigger club in England than Atletico in Spain prior to those two
      Coaches joining their respected clubs

Neville was a mark of how low this once great club has fallen.. They used to be one of my favourite team outside Juventus..
They used to have a very strong midfielder with Baraja Abelda Aimar and Vicente with Ayala and Marchena in the back on UEFA Cup finals against Marseille.. Too bad after Benitez, they make too many missteps..

The stadium is in the center of the city, even better is if u go to valencia nou mestalla is the first establishment u see, the reason why the city needed it is to spike up tourist numbers, events like concerts and such will be easy to accomodate. In other words Nou mestalla is a cash grab for the city of valencia.

Problem is, they were at a good spot when they introduced Nou Mestalla, they had David Villa, Silva, Joaquin, Canezares, they had a good squad. They needed that push to compete with Spain and Europe's Elite. The stadium should have been finished in the Summer of 2009...it didn't.

I know there's examples of them making clubs into what they are today but there's far more horror stories than success stories. They're already rich so can't say it's to make money and it's not for the glory cz the majority of these owners just make the club's worse
