Oh! Something cool that is happening at my local petco!! They have little lines on the fish ranks that hold gold fish showing the adult size of goldfish so people can actually see and get an understanding! They use the little glass marker things you use on car windows. But I know for a fact they are only doing it because the aquarium specialist has gold fish and is tired of people thinking gold fish stay as small as they sell them.

The thing is you can actually make a fancy guppy to looks like a neon or cardinal tetra if you truelly wanted to.
Omg the thumbnail literally happened to my dad; I was thinking about getting an aquarium and he said that he used to have one and I said, "Oh cool! What kind of fish did you have?" And he said he used to have blue and red striped guppies, which seemed a little odd to me, so I searched up a picture of a guppy to show him, and he said, "No, it was smaller than that. With blue and red stripes?" so I searched up a picture of a neon tetra to show him and he smiled and said "Yep! _Guppies_ " 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ (Edit: I know that he also could've had cardinal tetras but ye)
*I am late to the table by two years on this one, but guppies are actually from Florida and a few islands, in case anyone was wondering. A lot of guppies and their kin (mollies and platies) actually enjoy a brackish environment and can often (mollies!) can thrive in a solid salt environment.
I don't have fish but I still watch this channel lmao. So when you said go do a water change I just poured myself a new cup of water lol.

I don't dare even post my tank for potential FTR. It needs to be redone for a 3rd time. The hornwort I had in it, that was rapidly growing all up and fucking died over the course of a week. When it's needles, and the algae in gone. Only then will I have the courage to post tank
Thanks for the tip about the filter media. I am fairly new to fishkeeping, and that is something I haven’t heard yet (just setting up a 2nd tank with filter media, my first is HOB with sponge).

I love how every bad tank is either really dirty with some fruity pebble rocks and usually a betta fish
I searched online for native wild bettas, they seem to be living in heavily planted pond or rice patties. I believe they do not mind cramped plants because that is usually where they are living instead of open water. I know the aquarium is safer for betta in open tank but I wish to see someone to recreated their natural home. For sure they they need a tank over 10 gal and a heater.

That blue gravel looks so delicious, I love blueberry flavored candy! I think that goldfish do to, and that is why we don’t put blue gravel in our overstocked goldfish tanks with one parrot cichlid
Thanks for the video^^ I've kept axolotls for a while now and they need 40 gallons for one lotl and plus 20 gallons for more. Having a male and female together perminantly is bad as they can over breed the female as the eggs are insider her as they mature. You pretty much got it spot on😊

When I was 4 I had a betta (that was the first mistake). It's FISH BOWL was in the bathroom and one day I decided I wanted to HOLD my betta. So, I did just that. But unfortunately I dropped it and it fell into the toilet. It swam down and... I flushed it, so no on would pee on it.
I'm sure he found his way into the ocean. Just like nemo. And it's happy. Let's just ignore the fact, toilets don't lead to the ocean and bettas aren't saltwater fish. But aside from that, hes happy 😁❤

I noticed on that first bowl, the thermometer was just barely sticking into the water. I didn't think you'd get an accurate temperature reading unless it was submerged, am I wrong?
A tall tank can be ok for axolotls as long as they have rocks and logs to climb on, that gives them more surface area to walk on. Also those looked like 2 boys and since they're both 3 and haven't had babies yet they definitely are. I keep a pair together in a 100 litre long, if the baby axolotl ends up being male I'll just have to separate them whenever I see the male doing a mating dance (the tank is currently separated into 2 parts anyway as the baby would be eaten by my female). If you don't want to put the extra effort into avoiding an oops litter it's best to just get two of the same gender. Or have one, they'll be happy either way.
