Big New Project!

- This is going to be a fun one! A new obsession. A restoration. Some installations. Some fabrications. All born from a revelation. That being that I am a maker! And I haven't had a space of my own for a long time now.
Looking back; turning my silver F150 into a mobile shop was awesome and amazing while I traveled to and from North Carolina after my Great (ish) Loop trip. But having tools, some of which I've had for 30+ years now, and a few that got handed down from long-gone relatives, just sitting in that truck while I paddled around... I couldn't imagine leaving them all on the side of the road to be stolen. So it REALLY dug into my kayak adventuring. Which explains a bit of my absence from CZcams there for a bit. Well, I think I finally got it figured out and can get back to where I was some years ago. With the added benefit of a lot more content for anyone that appreciate seeing a project born, nurtured and (hopefully) blossoming into something....well, I want to say AWESOME! But we'll have to wait and see if it turns out half as good as I can imagine it will.
Stay tuned!

Marty, nothing wrong with some DIY. Your DIY videos are some of my favorites.
This will give me a chance to make lots of DIY videos going forward for sure, Robb!
Marty one things that keeps me coming back to your channel for more is all your projects! You are truly a real life MacGyver!
Looking forward to watching you transform this.
Go Marty go, you build that shop diy the hell out of that thing.
Heck yeah, I can't wait to see what you come up with that. Just imagine
Good one Marty! I like your plan, and look forward to seeing what you come up with for the trailer. Good to see the Pups looking well too.
Take care, and regards from across the pond. 👍👍

I'm excited for you! I wish I had your drive and ambition! Projects are fun!
Can’t wait … do your thing brother Marty!
Can’t wait to see what you do with your new project.
I like the idea of getting that overhead door off and building a swinging door set. A nice set of drop-down steps or ramp and away you go.
Marty cannot wait!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
good to see you getting back to basics and enjoying the simple live good look tony australia
Trailers are great. I have a 18 ft enclosed trailer work shop. Keeps the truck clean and ready for adventures. Excited to see what you do with yours.
Cannot wait for the new project.
Awesome Marty! Can't wait to see what you come up with
Neat idea brother, I can’t wait to see how it turns out! 🤙🏻
Good luck & have fun my friend
What a tease, now I'm angstiest to see what that trailer becomes.
Nothing better than a tranquil Zoff vid at the end of a long day. Love it bro, keep’em coming!! 🙏
Your 2nd use #2 truck can be an air compressor, and, a
12 volt power supply, a usb recharging station, and a recharging generator or supply for 120VAC, too.
And it can be a multiple rack (with as roof rack) for your kayaks as well.
if you hinge the door on the top, you can prop it open with a couple poles and it will give you a little shelter from the rain!
One of your better ideas,,,, quitting your job where you had to climb those tall ladders was another great idea.
The worst idea you ever had was going on the loop trip it was way too stressful .
😊 Okay you're back on track.
Excited to see what you to with this!
Can't wait to see the build Marty!
Wow cool.....cant wait to see you transform it.
It’s gonna be awesome!

Your dogs love you so much because they feel the love you give them! Great pet owner!
Will be a fun build!
Cool! Makes sense.👍
Solar. A/C. Cellular burglar alarm …ring camera. Work from home…wherever you pull it. Use it only for work. I always love your projects. I remember a few years ago spotting you as I was also fishing Archie creek east bay. Big long time fan here.

Good idea, Marty

👍😎
Been a long way since the red hobie yak (at least when i started watching) and others amazing to see how far youve come its incredible
Good to see you again! You got plan.. run with it.
Take care,
build it a dock, stairs on one side and a ramp for loading and unloading stuff on the other.
Woah! I love this channel!
1:10 ,yes Christopher Walken, I agree , insurance is just way expensive 😅
Back to the Original Marty, with a Project on the go, and plenty of Documentation by way of Video's. Like it!!! 😎
You are the man!
Marty, Viper Systems makes shatter tint that can at least deter people from smashing your windows. A lot cheaper than a car and insurance.
That sounds like a neat product. Though, I remember working 3rd shift in a shady part of Manhattan and numerous times watched thieves walk down the block, shading their eyes and pressing a face against the car windows looking to see if there was anything of value that was visible. If the car was empty, they'd move on. The best deterrent I figured since then was to not leave anything in your vehicle.
Yes!
Not only will your tools be protected but you’ll also save on gas’s with your truck!!
Thanks Marty
I was wondering about the two truck dealio... Dude I can see your breath! It was about 30 degrees here this morning with a couple of inches of fresh snow :( I can't wait to leave this latitude!
The moisture that always seems to weigh the air down here sure can turn chilly into COLD and warm air into sweltering.
cool beans
Looks like it was a truck at one time made into a trailer
Good luck on ur virgin workshop...
First thing I see coming...steps
🖐😎👍
Be Happy tell you how to do
Do you plan on being able to move it later? I would be looking into the axle/spring/tire setup and making sure it can safely handle the amount of weight you will have in there. At the very least I would want two axles on a trailer that size.
It's rated for 8k. I also prefer a twin axel, but for the limited traveling I plan to do with this and my plan to not even get close to capacity, I should fair ok.
@@zoffinger that does seem reasonable for limited movement, should be fine if you arrange everything with weight distribution in mind. You are probably better with maintaining a light and minimal setup than most people would be.
Marty I need some advice. im about to buy my first kayak. im in a tossup between the hoodoo voyager 100p pdl and the pelican catch mode 110 and adding a trolling motor to it. ill be putting it on top of my jeep if that makes a difference.
I always advice to start small and cheap. If paddling turns out to be only a temporary obsession, then you won't be stuck with a big boat or a big bill. That is assuming you don't have much experience on a kayak. If you do, then you are one that needs to be satisfied and should know then what traits you 'need' in a kayak. My wants don't hold a candle to what suits you. And time on the water in any kayak should tell you tons more then I ever could. I don't mean to dodge your question, but picking a kayak is a very personal thing. Like picking a car. Whichever you chose, I would be happy to know you chose to get out there.
Please let it be a bunker🙏🏻
Did I miss a video explaining this property? I thought you were just boondocking haha. Is it a rental? Or you purchased it?
Are you in Florida? I'm moving to Florida after the thaw up here. I want to get back into touring kayaking but don't know where to go. I'll be in Gainesville area I've got a 17.5 foot kayak
West coast seems a better fit for kayakers here in Florida. There are more places to find a sheltered area to paddle and the Gulf is not nearly as gnarly as the Atlantic.
Did you purchase the land you’re staying on, I don’t remember you saying, but you probably did.
This place is temporary. Land prices always seem to peak at the time I am in the market. I'm lucky enough to have friends that are giving me the chance to bide my time until hopefully things go back to a reasonable state of existence.
Did he ever say what happened to his big boat I sort of got sick and I went off the internet for a while so I don't know if I missed it if he said what happened to it or not, if anyone knows I'd appreciate the information, and have a great week
He actually got rid of it in some sort of giveaway.
Well he definitely sold it. From what I remember he practically gave it away having the person pay the boat yard fee or something.
Let me know which truck you sell, im in the market for one!!!
You can't be homeless and have stuff at the same time. I'm afraid you will come to a point where you have to decide which you want or age is going to decide for you. Might be a good time to find a home base to work from and then take adventures from there. One person can't drive two vehicles and pull two trailers everywhere. Just my two cents. Wish you the best, Doc.
Now, Doc. I thought you were familiar with Latin? What you describe to me is mediocris. And a home need not be a house.
We miss your Big loop videos!
Do you still have the kayak rental business?
The doors to that business are closed. Though, I kept the LLC going just in case someday...
Not only will your tools be protected but you’ll also save on gas’s with your truck!!
