Poor Man's Triple Motor 12 Foot Center Console Bass Boat

  • I call this boat the Intruder12X3. It's crazy. It's stupid. It's ridiculous. It's just plain fun. This boat is not meant to be practical. Or super fast. Although it jumps on plain very quickly! For me, it is a proof of concept. That I could put three motors on the back of a small boat. I would've put four 2.6 outboards on it, but those little motors don't have reverse. And part of the allure of this build is how I can make this boat spin on a dime by putting one outside motor in forward and the other side motor in reverse. It acts just like my 31ft Chris Craft :^D
I laughed a lot while outfitting this boat. Groaned a lot during the lengthy filming and editing of this video. Spent a ton of money pursuing this asinine en devour. Yet, I would do it again for the laughs! I hope you enjoyed watching as much as I enjoyed making it all happen.
Something tells me this won't be the last time I do something stupid like this. Thanks for the views and for encouraging me to live life to the fullest!
    -Marty Zoffinger
Many thanks also to Pelican for all they have done for me over the years.
And to King Starboard for both making a great product and for believing in me.
And to Todd for providing me with tons of Starboard scraps and screws and tools and for putting up with my hijinks.
Not least, thanks to you to my Patrons, both to my kayak rental business and to those that contribute via Patreon. You really help me live this dream everyday.

And this is exactly how some of the greatest inventions that we have today came about, just some guy like Marty in his garage using his Heart, his knowledge, his tools, money and the guts to go ahead and do it resulting in him building his dream, Nice work Marty. Never give up on anything that you dream of and really feel that you can do it, Much respect for what you even try to attempt in the future, keep up the good work, one day one of your ideas is going to make you very wealthy. Sure there are a lot of other triple engine boats out there but this one was your own build on a much smaller scale than the other big expensive boats out there and a lot of us regular guys who works 40 hrs a week and are not very wealthy we could afford something nice like this. Like you said, It should be called the poor man's triple engine dream, It's different and probably could be very affordable if you ever decided to really get into these small triple engine smaller boats. P.S. Electric star would be very nice or it could be an option? The end result was just fantastic, I loved it. You should really think about producing more of these boats??

I gotta tell you, this was a very cool video to watch. It's nice to see someone with the engineering skills, the savvy and the chops to make an idea turn into reality. The video was very entertaining to watch and I can see how you have 173K followers to this channel. The quality of the video along with the production of it is high quality, fun and very informative in the thought process of the project from the very beginning. It draws you in and wants to make you watch the video to see how the project all comes to fruition. For someone that just stumbled onto your channel for the first time, I wanted you to be aware of what I found so likeable about it. Well done in how you pulled this off. Very well done indeed. I really enjoyed watching this.

Your DYI skills are on point. Don't apologize for anything. I was really impressed with some of the ideas that you had to come up with to make things work and you actually helped me solve one of the problems that I have on a project. Thank you for sharing. You might well be the first channel that I have ever subscribed too.

This showcases how cool it is to invent stuff as it is "needed" only by yourself. My dad was a tool maker, auto-body man, mechanic and jack of all trades and taught me a lot. I love to just make stuff work that no one else would try to. I have fun with it and save some money sometimes (most of the time) and have a great feeling when others are amazed. I have been called MacGyver quite a few times and I think you earned the name too, MacGyver!

you are an inspiration. It is high time I got back to my wooden boat build that has been years in the making and was going to be a sailing vessel but now an electric duel minn kota. craft as My wife and I just bought a cottage on the Erie canal in upstate NY. Boat speed is 10 miles per hour max but I will use all of it for the build. Thanks and the plastic bits look fantastic.

Isn't there a rule that every boat in FL has to have too many motors to emphasize how saltstrong you are? :) This was awesome and your craftsmanship is impressive. Having the skills and vision to execute stupid, ridiculous, fun ideas like this is foundation of innovation and sometimes trips to the ER for those of us that are less skilled. It's not often that you read thru a comments section where there is this much agreement and respect. As I read, i noticed everyone mentioned something that I was thinking or wanted to congratulate for so I wont repeat what's been said. Thank you for the inspiration.
Install a working 15HP and a dummy 15 HP on either side of it just to keep it ridiculous.
Now, I think I'll try to install a trolling motor on my trolling motor.

watching your thought process and then building it,putting it in the water and operating successfully was brilliant. You're truly awesome 👌. Thanks for the time and trouble you went to for your viewers. You're right about the 115 HP. I'd love to see that. #1 Airboat Man
