- NOTE: These are videos of model roller coasters that are built as a hobby. They are not for sale. There are no instructional videos. This model was built using .030 thick Styrene plastic for the track, aluminum tubing for the track support spine and wooden dowels for the structure. The train was made from a Coaster Dynamix Static Intamin Train. The wheels are modified HO scale wheels.
The Screamroller was converted into the EXT, the first stand-up roller coaster in the US, and the second in the world (the other being in Japan at the time). It ran with the stand up cars for all of 1983 and part of the 1984 season and then was converted back to a sit down coaster in 1984. This is the 3rd version of the Screamroller/EXT I have built. I reused the aluminum tubing for track support, the lift motor and chain, the lift support structure and turn around, and converted the train car bodies. Everything else including the base platform is all new for this incarnation of the model. Please Note: The "Screams of the Past" Exhibit at Union Station closed permanently in March of 2013.

Great layout! Great job!
I would ride this numerous times, great layout!
that was super cool
@CoasterFan456 Thanks. Nothing really other than I needed to make a model to auction in October. Like most of my custom models, I just start building and this is what became of it. I worked extra hard to make this one of the nicest, if not nicest looking models I've built so far.
@coasterguy55 It's all right. I'm still trying to perfect it a bit, it's kind of tricky. In all truth, the Blue Blaze doesn't have ANY brakes at all. I just used the over bank up swing at the top to kill off the momentum at the end. : )
the magnetic brakes are really cool! where do you get them? can you show us the underside of the train and the interaction between the magnets and trains? that would be wonderful! thanks!
@coasterguy55 This one doesn't have magnetic brakes. I will be making another model out in late October, early November '11 that will use them, I'll be sure to get good footage so folks can see, thanks!
@modelrollercoasters oh sorry I though that since you used them in the one you would use them from now on.... guess i should pay more attention! thanks for the reply though!
@modelrollercoasters Haha wow hi-tech stuff there, huh? So where do you get your magnets?
@modelrollercoasters soo, is this roller coaster a recreation or what? cuze i would travel to the other side of the world just to ride this ride!!
Sorry, I somehow missed this, so my apologies. It's an Original Design (as it says in the description, I always put if it's an original or recreation there :) )
is it made out of paper PLS tell me
Well, you could visit the website and find out. But no, it's styrene plastic track, wooden dowels for the supports.
