  • Please Note: The "Screams of the Past" Exhibit at Union Station closed permanently in March of 2013.
NOTE: These are videos of model roller coasters that are built as a hobby. They are not for sale. There are no instructional videos. This model was built using .030 thick Styrene plastic for the track, aluminum tubing for the track support spine and wooden dowels for the structure. The train was hand made from Styrene Plastic. The wheels are modified HO scale wheels.
The Screamroller was converted into the EXT, the first stand-up roller coaster in the US, and the second in the world (the other being in Japan at the time). It ran with the stand up cars for all of 1983 and part of the 1984 season and then was converted back to a sit down coaster in 1984. This is the 3rd version of the Screamroller/EXT I have built. I reused the aluminum tubing for track support, the lift motor and chain, the lift support structure and turn around, and converted the train car bodies. Everything else including the base platform is all new for this incarnation of the model.

@zac613 The entrance pathway is pretty much the same. The ramp going up to Timberwolf is from the Screamroller/EXT, as are the exit stairs the same. The exit path for Timberwolf comes out around the same area as it did for the Screamroller/EXT, but it went around like the exit path on the model.

Hey there. It's called, "Olympic (Piano Build Version)". It is part of SmartSound, which comes with Roxio Creator, which is the program I use to produce my videos. So it's not available on say, Amazon Music. I think you can get it separate, but they are pretty expensive to buy alone. Google SmartSound and it'll take you to the website. Hope this helps!

It's the shame worlds of fun had not one but two looping arrow coasters. I do wonder if the stand-up trains making wear on the track like crazy and early day stuff might've led them to plan to remove EXT and put in Orient Express. As a replacement but not right away. However, the fact they got rid of the latter is a pure crime. The park has no regular steel looping coaster. They got wooden covered, inverted, and some other fun stuff, but if orient express was still there, and they'd gotten another B&M or something else by now, people wouldn't complain of it being mistreated. Also, considering where it is, you'd think the traffic would be good enough to build it up more.
