- NOTE: These are videos of model roller coasters that are built as a hobby. They are not for sale. There are no instructional videos.
Maelstrom is the very first modelcoasters.com Tube Track model. The train for the model was designed and built by Johnny R. who is a CZcamsr on his 3D Coaster Channel. He also designed the 3D files for the crossties and track slot cutter to fit the crossties. generously assisted me as we have gotten acquainted being fellow modelers. Let’s see if this starts the 1:24 scale Model Roller Coaster Wars, LOL. This has been one of my dreams to build a fully functioning realistic Arrow roller coaster. While I will continue to build Flat Track models mostly, I may explore the possibility of creating other realistic models in the future as time allows. The station roof was knitted by GreatScott Knitting, and we’re grateful for Scott’s help. John Hunter assisted me with the initial concept for a Tube Track coaster and put some time into the preliminary design, which helped tremendously with the success of this model.

The train for Maelstrom first ran on his Loch Ness Looper model found on his channel when he did a 13 (!) car train test.

What I really love about this is that it doesn't just zip through the layout. The pacing gives it more realism. Great job!
I agree the speed is a bit more realistic. Unfortunately, you can not scale speed. But the Tube Track model seems to do much better. Thanks for the comment!
Noice
What a cool model and layout!
Congrats on ten years! I LOVE the new coaster. Great job!
Thanks so much!
@@modelrollercoasters say, can you make a coaster model of the great Kings Island coaster The Vortex?.
Great job, the double corkscrew is so Arrow like and the rock-work at the end is awesome!
Feels so good to hear that intro music again, I feel like I started making models because of you and it's good to see the you're still going
It's part of us for sure. It's a clip from a music producing program (Roxio) and I had mulled having a new custom theme created just for us, but when I bounced it past some people, they were all, NO! So I didn't mess with it.
I love the old school Arrow style on this and it paces well.
It also reminds me of the old Magnum Model Coaster models.
10 years is a long time!!! Congrats, dude!
Wow thats a very cool model of a rollercoaster. Very detailed too.
Loving the new track style
Fantastic Work, very impressiv!
Thank you very much!
I absolutely LOVE those classic track pieces! The support structures and layout are incredibly designed. This really is one of the best custom models out there. I've only seen one other realistic model like this one and it deserves more attention, but wow I can't wait to see one of these in person
like the scale speed of the train, it even show a little reduction in speed through the loops and inclines - cool job!
Wow, even at actual speed it looks dam good. Great work!
Nice job
The acceleration of the train is really nice great work
I'm 37 lock me in there all day pal especially during lockdown 😊👍
Ron Toomer would be proud!!
I remember watching you back in like 2012! Your videos gave me such good memories! I was shocked to see you were still uploading!
I'm not dead, yet. LOL. I average between 2 and 3 videos a year. There are 41 models now on my channel and over on the website. Someone said that they think I have to be the most prolific scratch=built model roller coaster builder in the world.
Wow! I like the new track design!
Reminds me of a coaster at Kings Island called the Vortex
That's a beautiful coaster
It's one of my best so far. Thank you!
That was amazing!
Excited to see this!
Awesome layout and video! Keep up the great work!
I’m surprised this channel hasn’t uploaded a how-to video on these amazing models or go more into further detail
We did have tutorials at one point; however it became problematic when supplies were discontinued for various parts one would use. I averaged about 10 - 15 questions a day, when the tutorials were up and couldn't keep up. I made the decision that this channel would for the foreseeable future be a showcase channel only.
Amazing!!! Your best model yet!
I think so too. Thank You.
Just amazing!! Congrats on 10 years of happiness 😁
So cool!!!!
This is really awesome. Great job!
Thanks a lot.
Amazing! Great Design and very good engineering on the wheel system, I can imagine it was intense work here on the barrings and all that stuff around it. Its also great to see how long the track goes. I can imagine it was hard to get everything going well because of all its complexity
I didn't design nor build the train. It was built for me by a friend who has a channel under by 3D coaster. Link to his page is in the CZcams page description. He also came up with track system. I just built the model, and themed it which did take some time. He also designed the chain dog system to work with my lift system as well.
@@modelrollercoasters and how did you made the tracks? Also congrats for the 10 years! You and Jack from CD are my inspiration since childhood
really nice
This is awesome!
Glad you enjoyed this model!
I won’t miss it it’s on a Saturday! 😊
Ed Morgan would be proud
I can’t wait
Great playing toy about Roller Coaster.
I'ts a beauty 😍
I wish i had the stuff to make one. If i did id replicate my favorite ride of all time which is also an arrow looper. Vortex at Kings Island.
Reminds me of Quicktrack
Wow
based on the style of this Custom Looper coaster, I say this was like made by Arrow Dynamics.
It definitely was inspired by Arrow Dynamics roller coasters.
Cool ! What is the type of material for the red track please ?
Polyurethane tubing.
what materials did you use for the model?
Will tube track replace flat track for your models?
No. Flat Track models are waaaay less expensive, this was an experiment. I will build some of both types in the future, but mostly Flat Track.
What happened to your website?
why is it that when i enter your website i cant and the reason being that it says that content can be in the category of xxx?
I still own the web address, but the website was taken down some time ago and it is not active.
I also entered in www.modelcoasters.com and it goes to a squarespace page that says "Website Expired" so I don't think you typed it in correctly.
hey do you sell these?
No, it's just a hobby. Too much when you get into selling them. :)
Did you quit?
No. Just taking a break for a while. I'll still build, but just don't have the passion or time at the moment.
