- NOTE: These are videos of model roller coasters that are built as a hobby. They are not for sale. There are no instructional videos. This model was built using .030 thick Styrene plastic for the track, aluminum tubing for the track support spine and wood dowels for the structure. Cars are 3D printed and the wheels are HO scale train trucks that are modified.
The Python, a real-life roller coaster is located at De Efteling, a theme park in the Netherlands. When it opened in 1981 it set several records for steel coasters in Europe. It was the tallest and had most inversions (4). It was the second longest in Europe as well. This was also the first custom Vekoma MK-1200 double loop, double corkscrew coaster as well as their largest coaster to date upon opening. It was also the first roller coaster built at De Efteling. For modelcoasters.com it is also the first roller coaster we have done outside of the United States and the first European one. That's why we choose this historic steel coaster. The model is representative of how Python appeared when it first opened in 1981.

Amazing. The exact same coaster layout as the Carolina Cyclone coaster at Carowinds!
Pretty much. Python is build higher in the air, so the helix doesn't go below ground after the corkscrews.
The physics of model roller coasters is weird with how they pick up and loose speed so quickly.
My first upsite down rollercoaster!!!!!! One of the major reasons wy am an coaster enthousiast!
I like how you made the track so that the car slows down at the end of the ride, now that's realistic.
Thanks.
Also, here is my model roller coaster I made back in 1991 --> czcams.com/video/KA-QjxYw-n8/video.html
this was my first looping roller coaster
Levi Heichou mine to
ging de ketting lift maar zo snel XD
Ik denk dat ik de nieuwe Phyton-lift voorafschaduwde. De K'nex-motor die ik gebruik, heeft één snelheid en dat is wat ik gebruik. :)
So smooth !
Year after year you kepp making good coaster models ! Nice work !
Thank you.
Looks good!
Great work. Looks fantastic.
Thanks!
Ugh, did not mean to remove the comment about the music. They keep changing the interface on CZcams. I thought Remove was to Unpin a comment, not wipe it out. :(
Make the baron from the Efteling! That Would be so cool!
Nice!!!
Thanks!
these are Soo cool i wanna make one so bad
How did you make the tracks
Did you use knex train and made the rails yourself?
Nope, it is all built from scratch. Details on what I use is here: www.modelcoasters.com/faqs/
sweet
Impressive! It's a pretty nice and realistic recreation.
I must say that I prefer watching your model than actually riding this thing :)
For me, it's the worst coaster with incersions I've ever done (I haven't ridden many bad coasters yet) and the new Vekoma trains it uses now are the worst trains on any coaster I've ever ridden.
The park actually wants to retrack it this year, so maybe it'll get a bit better than it is now!
Yes, they are removing all of the track except for the brakes, station and lift. Everything from the top of the lift to the brakes will be all new track. I can say for certain, I for some reason am thinking they are going to replace some of the supports as well. But don't quote me on that. :)
If your video would get some extra views the next days, it's because a
Dutch theme park site has written an article about your creation! You
can find it here: www.looopings.nl/weblog/6966/Amerikaan-bouwt-werkend-schaalmodel-van-Python-in- de-Efteling.html
The comments are quite positive (doesn't happen that often on that site), so you've done a good job :)
I thought python went directly into the drop and didn't do a turn around, and the helix was a 360 turn instead of a 540? Great model though, and now that I think about it doing the real layout would make the base quite large!
WOW I couldn't make that!
Sure you could!
Maybe but I might fail though.
How do you make that rails? I would like to try it out!
Question is in here: www.modelcoasters.com/faqs/
Could you build the Eurostar coaster ,pleaze
I made a roller coaster out of lego but it dosen't go inverted as the cars dont have underweels...my next step is to try to make one like this ! I like your desing a lot congrats ! it seems to be working well ! ...come see my roller coaster on my channel if you want to see it !
Just shared in on my Facebook page. Great job!
noice
Do this in slow motion!
Use the playback button and slow it down yourself. :)
Eefteling
This is just like magic mountain from gardaland, and phyton was made before magic mountain
Yep!
Is that styrene track???!!!!!!! I'mma try to make one
Yes. More info here: www.modelcoasters.com/faqs/
Omg python is the same layout as Carowinds Carolina cyclone so does that mean python is really Carolina cyclone 🤔🤔🤔🤔 dun dun dun
Pretty much. :)
Waiting for CSM to retrack that too.
Not really it has only thesame lay out but the efteling is my home park and there is python so i know that it is real the lay out is just populair
It used to be exactly the same. But in 2018, Python got rebuilt from the ground up by Belgian company CSM. The basic layout stayed the same, but transitions were taken smoother etc. etc. making it not the EXACT same layout anymore since the turn between the loops and corks is abit wider now and more modern techniques were used
Can you make new tutorials
Sorry didn't see this. Silly CZcams and their hiding of notifications, ugh! I won't be making new tutorials. It takes a LOT of time, something I don't have a lot of these days. More reasons why in the FAQ's: www.modelcoasters.com/faqs/
