im 47, started at 45... i got a few tricks now but what i would say is as an older skater its a lot lot easier on the body to start on miniramps.... at the begning i tried street but the demand on the body later on in life makes it quite a tough... especially as i have nerve issues and ptsd.... but after 2 years mini ramp... the muscles are there and i am now back to learning the basics on flat ground.... i can olly and shuvit, thats all... but i can rip a miniramp.. a series on how to skate starting later in life would be great... lot of people doing it now... i guess what i am saying is if you are older and struggle then maybe come back to the street tricks in a year or two.... my 2p worth
39 year old beginner here! Learning along with my 7 year old son. Had my first mini ramp session the other night and it was a blast! Super scary to start, but I was surprised how quickly I picked up the rhythm for pumping!
47 here. Started to skate with my 13 year old daughter. I’m really interested in cruising and carving bowls
51 almost 52 here and looking forward to the journey!
you guys are sick love seeing all ages getting into skateboarding
47 here! Trying to rush my bucket list since I found out I have the beginnings of arthritis.
Age 51.
First clean Shove-it since age 18 thanks to this.
Bend those knees!
Yes so important
@@brailleskateboarding please help me
Did my first shove it today. Love these tutorials cheers Aaron and the braille team.
I skated casually as a teenager. Stopped mid highschool, its been almost a decade and I decided to get myself a decent board, protection and I'm skating again. Because of this video I was able to shuvit within a few days. I skate all the time now and I'm happier then ive been in a while. Step on the board everyone!
skated really hard last weekend for my first time in over 20 years, my heels are killing me, but I just didn’t want to stop skating kept on until my legs were jelly. I’m hooked all over again.💯😎
Going back to the basics seems to help a lot, but I still get the feel for it , thanks for all your tutorials🙏🏻
I’m 34 and just started skateboarding a few months ago and I’ve been following your tutorials and practicing nearly every single day trying to get the basics up, and I’ll hopefully be giving the shuvit a go in the next couple of days, but I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your content and all of your help, it’s the most fun I’ve had in so long and I love learning along with your tutorials :) thanks!
I remember these from back in the day!!! Glad to see Braille going back to the roots!
exactly
Thanks, and thank for being here for those old videos and the new
Foot position 1:36
Practice step 1 2:55
Practice Step 2 3:19
Practice Step 3 4:17
You’re a legend ❤
biggest legend ever bro
Thx
Just started today after a few months injury caused by my first skateboarding tryouts. I was super scared to hurt myself again, but it was the best feeling to land my first shove it and get over the fear. Thank you guys
very helpful, thank you aaron and the braille team
I literally did 3 of them while watching this and listening to you
Someone should definitely do a v-diary learning all the tricks from Aaron.
I'm on it!
I got ya fam. I am still on week one.
Imma try
Ironically today I did my first shuv it which is also my first trick on film too! I definitely have to work more on my riding and getting comfortable but so far im seeing progress. Thanks braille forreal
Man, thank you so much for this series, I'd been practicing shuv-its for days, and just couldn't get it, but after watching this video, it clicked, and now I can land them regular, fakie, and rolling both ways.
I'm still a total newb with a very long road ahead, but now I feel like I can actually take it
you, sir, are the mr rogers of skateboarding. thank you for all you do
Thanks for all of the great content!
Just landed my first shove it, after strugling for a bit. for anyone strugling it helped to move my front foot more towards the middle of the board, kinda like the foot position of an ollie. great vid!!
Perfect timing guys!! Just started skating last week, got my Ollie down and starting on shove it’s!
Amazing help as always
I have been watching this since 2018 and since I couldn't do an ollie I rage quit but you helped me get back into skateboarding Thanks!
I’ve been watching you for 2 years and just got my first tre flip 🙏
Wow I’m glad
Nice!
Thank u for so much help with begginer skaters
got it after 3+ hours of practicing (only shuvit) on my 4th day of skateboarding 🎉
Nice beginners video for new skaters Braille
Great video Aaron
Dude, all my life I've wanted to learn skateboarding. I'm 52 and was looking to get my twelve year old son into skating at Christmas. Love these videos, love the "baby steps." Instead of just getting my son a board, I've decided to learn with him. Don't worry, we will both pad up! Thank you so much for all the coaching!
You can do it!
Just coming back to skating at 41 years old after stopping at 29 so have to relearn a lot that I’ve forgotten. These videos are helpful
I’d be lost without braille
I recently started skating again after 8 months of not skating and at that point I skated for 2 years but now I lost my muscle memory I'm taking a step back and relearning the basics
Just re-watched this after struggling with shove its, my front foot was too far forward! Time to try again with foot in proper place 😅
I dont know if im thinking about the trick wrong but i can do step 1 and 2 fine but when i attempt the trick it does the 180 and my front foot lands but my back food is on the ground.
Thank you so much ! Cheers from France :)
Cheers!
So far it's been much much easier to do rolling ollies, I've only landed one pop shove it. Going to try these today, I think I got this based on my ollies alone. Thoroughly shocked and happy with myself lol
trust me
I'm following
ik how to this trick but its still cool to see how to do them
I think I might have to go to the Braille House personally if I want to be able to learn it properly, and to skate the warehouse, kind of a dream of mine
i love you aaron kyro
Ready for next week already
Great!
1:57 this is exactly what ive been doing wrong all along 😂😂 i can literally kickflip tre and nollie 3 shuv but can't even do a regular shuv 😂
i like braily. Because of them i started skate
JUST landed my first shove it ever! Bit of a mini one but it still counts!
I got the spin down but the landing like the board moves away from me can't get it to stay under my feet
This vid was amazing and helped me A lot but I still can’t land because I can’t seem to get my back foot to land or stay air born after the scoop pls help
Thank you for this! Leaning on your front foot is the tip I needed to hear. I don't know why it works, but it does. I guess it changes your center of gravity so it's over the center of the board, making the board spin underneath you?
yo, i was scrolling through the comments and saw this and gave it a try and i was finally able to commit landing both feet on grass (although it was all over the place), i think having your weight more to the front foot allowed me to finally get my back foot to land bcoz i didnt need to focus so much on trying to lift up my back foot, it was much easier just focusing on your front foot and letting the back foot glide or hover juz above the board and automatically land (at least thats how i felt when doing the trick)
I am gonna start skating Aaron
I am gonna do it
I have also subscribed
progress?
after i shove the board and the sewcond my back foot hits the board it always lands on the tail and then i fall
landed my first shuv it the other day and as of today I can almost constantly land it now
I needed this 2 hours ago😂😅
Better late than never?
@@brailleskateboarding Exactly 💯
So far I only found a helmet that fits me. 6'6" 350 makes it kind of a pain to find anything my size. I do got my hockey pads but they get extremely hot really quick. Anyone know of pads that work well for big skaters like me?
Landed 4 ollies today just started skating like 2 weeks ago, and that’s bec of you Aaron Kyro a sponsored skater from San Francisco Bay Area. Love from Seattle here 🛹
I think it's obvious but important to note (also for parents that have a kid that wants to skate) a toy skateboard from the toystore is often much heavier and any tricks like this and going forward are harder on those. If you want to have a nice (and safer) skating experience, go to your local skatestore and get a beginner set. There's a very big difference in weight and build quality.
Anyone have any tips on if your board keeps sliding out to the side?
Has me think of that song
'We've got the WHOOOOOOLE WORLD on a BOARD!'
Aaron kyro is just DIFFERENT
One month skating, I've landed this thanks to this video (well it was not that stylish but you know.... It's a beginning). Thanks a lot.❤️❤️
Hello im 12yo im on a skateboard like for 2-3 days and i just can't get this trick cause its going back or just forward and i just dont know what to do cause i did watch like episode 1 and episode 2
am stuggling to get my backfoot on the board after the shuv... any tips ? I always end uo landing with my right foot on the board and my left foot on the ground.
Commit
Can do an Ollie but not an shuv?
I just need winter to be over so I can get out and skate.
Also if you're wearing protection, like its been said Dont worry sbout falling. I'm probably a bit heavier then a lot of y'all do I hit the groud hard. But with the safety gear, the pain is minimal.
The key is to get into zone, develop muscle memory and don't overthink it. When you make a mistske, correct it before it becomes a habbit!
Cool
I just landed a backside flip of a ledge I'm going to put in my sponsor me video
Where is a shot on practice step#2? I didn’t get it, should I land my back leg on a ground after pulling the deck?
Yes back leg to the ground
Does wheel hardness matter for this trick? I have soft wheels for cruising and I can't shove the board without a pop. Or I'm making it up
Yea harder wheels are easier for tricks
Yo, Braille Team I'm gonna send you guys a costume fingerboard! Would you guys play a game of skate with it?
me ... skateboarding for 25 years or so and waiting for this series to get to heelflips and heel variations lol hoping to see hardflips too
Still paying attention, there's always fundamentals that get missed
Dang nice work skating for 25 years! Heelflips will definitely be in this series, closer to week 10 which is the kickflip
@@brailleskateboarding 🙏 maybe I'll finally figure out the *trick*
It’s almost my birthday in get ur merch for my birthday
I can pop it and turn it but I can’t land with my back foot
bro is real life coach frank
This is true
I can't get the board to rotate all the way
Yeah
Ok this tricks drive me nuts. I can ollie, switch ollie, fakie shuvit and land it 10/10 but I spend so much time on simple shuvit. Still I can land it 9/10, but while moving the board fly of in front of me or just don't do a full rotation (I land it but can't continue to roll) any ideas ?
maybe try rolling very slowly and practice finding the right amount of force to flick the board so that its always parallel and not under rotating
@@hmm9733 I have progress on it I can land it while running very slow but it's never a full 180, that always stop my speed, at best I finish with a pivot, at worst I fall. I don't understand why the board don't spin below my foot like in fakie, I need to jump forward, and it's not natural. But it's progressing, slowly but surely.
Aaron Kyro bail or no bail
Please 😎
nice
Landed my first shove it today...at 32 😂 if you're thinking about it ..just do it
Hold up a second, Aaron's board's wheel graphics are facing outside?!
My board lands to the right of me, no idea what to do
pushing the board with your front foot slightly while you are flicking your back foot makes a shuv 10 times easier to land. i’ve only seen a couple YTers mention this. He’s literally doing it in the vid but doesn’t talk about it lol.
What you mean pushing it?
Sooooo..... who sponsors you Aaron?
"Take your board everywhere"
*Winter
1:48 how is that board floating 🤣
Im still stuck at a point where i can't get my other foot on the board, I'ma update tho
You got this! Use the Braille app and post your progress
I love Aaron, but I'd rather learn the shove it from Nigel. He's the master of the shove.
OMG I JUST LANDED IT 3RD TRY
Awesome!
@@brailleskateboarding ! Love you guys!
Whenever I shove the board goes to far front
Practice the shove with 1 foot practice step
@@brailleskateboarding tysm I just landed my first one earlier
*muttering to herself under her breath* You can't try shoves again until your ankle is healed more.
I sprained it while locking in rock and rolls on January 1st.
Hope it heals fast, ankle sprains are my kryptonite
🙏🙌🙏
IDK why am looking at this I can already nollie flip
i’ve tried doing a shuv it for at least a month now and i still can’t land it
it took me 6+ months now im doing them eyes closed while going fast.
here's an extra step: land with your front foot on and back foot off, then after landing put your backfoot on too. keep doing this and it should automatically get on after a while.
Am I the only one finding ollie actually WAY easier than the shove it ?
I managed to land a few shove it but it felt more like luck than anything else since building the muscle memory from the learning steps feels like it make it harder to manage my back foot between the shoving movement and the trick landing.
Basically I do the first step easy, then go to second one and it goes well too, then trying to do the full thing either I don't manage to keep the back foot in the air enough to get it back on the board or I try to get more momentum and make me mess up my movement and I end up fliping the board or messing up the whole thing.
Does mcnugget and mo have CZcams channels??
I can’t do it
You can do it
Pop
i can land heelflips and i can nearly land kickflips, i have solid ollies, and i cant even shove it
I can’t do it because my shoe wouldn’t curl 😢
Btw I love your videos
Just point your toe down with your ankle. You don’t need to curl your shoe.
2:24
Ive tried doing all the videos up to this one and i still cant do it HELP
You guys should really make a different channel for this type of instructional content. Just leave the more fun videos for the main page.
I can’t land my back foot, losing hope 100%

For anyone who is trying to do a shuv it, fakie shuv it was a little easier for me when I was doing my first shuv
Idk that’s just me
