    Riding with your knee inward like that will likely hinder your balance once you gain speed, but it will certainly cause strain and internal issues by forcing the knee sideways every push inevitably. The knee isn't designed to take side to side force/movements.
    The optimal way for balance to have your feet while pushing is the same position you'd have them for running, toes pointed TOWARD where you are going. Otherwise, you are putting unnecessary and unnatural strain on the knee and limiting your pushing potential by the awkward position. The motion to go from toes pointed to where you are pushing toward and back to your riding position should be only ONE fluid motion. Riding position should be shoulders aligned with the board, and feet with shoulders. Soulders should swing open and the feet should follow by turning to be pointed toward where you are rolling all in one motion, then a one motion return to shoulders and feet squared off with the width of the board. You can think of it like opening to push, and closing to ride.
    The pushing foot should also while pushing point towards where you are rolling. Think of pushing in skating like walking or running, you always want point your body where you are going when you take a step (push) that way, or the ergonomics on the body are wrong and can result in otherwise avoidable issues. Push, ride, push, ride, push push push, ride 🛹

      @@marciotorressb I'm nearly 50 years old and started skateboarding just around 2 month ago.
      I got an 8,7" wide Deck with 8.75" low trucks and 58mm 93A Wheels...the Andy Anderson Heron Egg that's symetrical.
      So far so good but in the first weeks I always thought that I bought a deck that's to small for me. ( Shoes 12 size, 1.88m tall, 100 Kilo )
      But your video as well as some help from an old friend helped me soo much.... I always was wiggling around with my feet and since they are " longer " than the width of my board I thought about buying a 10" or even wider board.
      ......your video showed me, that the size of my board ist absolutely fine.

    My favorite part is how he spends 2 minutes stressing never to push with your toes pointing forward, then proceeds to push with his toes forward.
    Because that's perfectly fine to do. Been doing it probably longer than this dude's been alive. (32 years)

    Your video really made me take a good look at pushing a skateboard. I really liked it!! One thing I would like to add, while not taking anything away from your excellent instruction is throwing in a mongo push every other kick because over time you will fatigue your foot and ankle if you kick with the same foot every single time over the coarse of your(hopefully)long years in skateboarding. Also when you mongo push I would recommend having the middle of your back foot just over the rear bolts with that back foot facing forward. Like in your video I will start to push with my front foot over one front bolt but will mongo push with rear foot facing forward every other kick starting today. Gracias🛹👏

    Do you always have your head over the board nose when doing tricks and rail tricks?

  • @nooboard
    @nooboard Před měsícem +1

    It does not matter where you place your frontfoot if you can steer, keep balance and ride fast in that position. ;-) Even pushing mongo is only a question of style like the mallgrab is. The best skill is to be able to ride confident in all stances and directions no matter where exactly your feets are positioned.

    Mongo push is underrated. I've ridden super tight trucks since forever, and pushing mongo allows you to turn easier. It also lessens the chances of getting murdered by a pebble. Only thing mongo sucks for is foot placement before a trick when you have limited time.

      @@michaelkrauer1286 I know one in person who switched from pushing mongo goofy to pushing "normal" regular in his earlier days of riding. Maybe he ment that too. That's not that uncommon. At some point it should also not be a problem to push in every position and direction.

    • @marciotorressb
      @marciotorressb  Před měsícem +2

      Oh yeah, it’s not a mistake but it can makes things difficult for those who are learning how to skateboarding specially when it comes to skate in obstacles.
      Tiago Lemos knows how to skate and he pushes Monho in his Swing stance like a huge amount of skaters do but again they already know how to skate
      Anyway the most important thing to me is you or anybody learns how to skate and have fun 💚

    • @JaGGeR-
      @JaGGeR- Před měsícem +3

      He only pushes switch mongo which is a much more natural push in regards to switch skating. To push normal in switch stance you actually have to practice. But yes, there's nothing wrong with a switch mongo push. If you're pushing mongo in your normal stance, that is something you should correct.

  • @caseylewis2835

    There is no right or wrong way to push. There is no right or wrong way to skate. Unless you're out there having a pissed off tantrum all the time then you're doing it wrong. If you're happy with what you doing, you're having a good time. You're doing it right. Don't let assholes like this. Tell you what you should or shouldn't do. This is coming from a 54-year-old man who started skating when he was 6 years old. Don't listen to these assholes who tell you what you can and cant do to have a good time on a skateboard

    • @nooboard
      @nooboard Před měsícem +1

      They are not assholes. But you are right. Foot position does not matter. Progression and having fun matters.
