Hey man, so I'm 47 and bought my 1st longboard 2 weeks ago. In 2 days I'm doing a 10 hour cruise for charity. I think I'll most likely spend most of my time on my arse but that's ok. I just wanted to say that your beginner tutorials have helped massively. Thanks bro.

I’m 46 and are thinking of getting a longboard and you have just pushed a step closer to get it !
For the stance...I like the people to play "Heaven and Hell' do you know the game? So the leg you start to jump with is the one that stays on the board and the other one is your pushing leg. Aaannddd if you are regular on the snowboard, you will be goofey on the skateboard.

Ive had my longboard for a week now i think (atom drop through) and i regret not looking at tutorials when i started bc it ended up frustrating me or me getting hurt, but after these videos really helped me improve and enjoy a lees stressful cruise
I hope you still read comments, especially to videos this old. I'm learning how to ride right now and your video was a lot of help, bit what REALLY spoke to me was the spirit connection, board-feeling part. It just took me back to when I was a teen, my dad was teaching me to drive a manual-transmission car, and I was having a really hard time understanding how to get the car moving, and everyone had their own dumb advice for how to do it and it didn't work. Then my dad just sat down with me in the car, and he said "Just feel the car. Feel when it's starting to stall out, just sit down, close your eyes and listen to it" and we sat quietly and felt the car and it's hard to explain but that's absolutely a real deal, dude. Idk, it's like 3 am but that spoke to me and took me back to a simpler time. Thanks for the video

I got my first longboard in 2016, never got used to standing on it or riding in general, but this year I tried again and I’m just so comfortable after like two weeks of daily attempts. So don’t ever give up tbh
same thing for me, i made one in middle school and now in high school I want to learn how to ride it

Have never heard anyone talk about the one foot balance exercise before and I think that is what has been missing for me! Have yet to master braking - always end up just stepping off. This has been super helpful 👏👏👏👏👏 Merci beaucoup !

I myself am trying to learn with both feet now. Left is WAY harder for me than the right but eventually I'll make it.
I surf with my left forward and skate with my right foot. I’m still Trying to figure out which I prefer.💩

late late late to the party, but I've been trying to learn the longboard over covid quarantine season and this is the most helpful, good-vibey, understanding pointer video I've seen yet, especially the breaking process (which I'm still trying to work on haha). thank you for the time and effort you put into this!

I use to skate alot when I was younger on a normal board. 31 now and just bought a longboard to get into a healthy hobby that gets me outside again thanka for the short video. Hopefully not to old/broken to learn 😂

Definatley agree always trust in yourself and your board more relaxed and balanced you are the better chance of a less painfree riding expirience.

Je faisais le one foot exercice sans m'en rendre compte hahah c'est vrai que ça aide beaucoup même que des fois quand je perds l'équilibre ça me permet de repositionner mes pieds sur la planche plus confortablement ! Merci et Love from Morocco
I used to street/vert skate as a kid. But hadn't skated for about 11-12 years. I'm nearly 28 now, and certainly not 16 anymore. But in getting a new job that I can walk to in a half hour, I decided to start skating again. I just got a new long board, since I wanted something better than my street board.
Got a 37" Madrid longboard(this snowboard shape) and I love it. I picked out all the parts and built it myself. I'm not quite used to the length of it, but overall, love it. I had always wanted a longboard as a kid, but they were too expensive lol. I'm too old now to be taking any real spills though, so wasn't looking to get into street skating again.
