"Maybe there's gravel there
maybe there's a dog?
something you don't want to hit!"
LOLZ
Lel
Yeah i definitely don't want to hit the gravel
He was saying that exact sentence as I was reading this :0
But there could be your mother-in-law or Jake/Paul Logan, you never know when you might get lucky
@@soleilsteary6283 same lmfao
An advise as a beginner to pros, wear a helmet peeps. I know u think it looks noobish, but nah, it looks badass when this one pro zips past you in full gear and confident in himself.
It's kinda like when this guy is riding his motorcycle at 200+ and doesn't wear any gear, we call him a squid. But this guy fully suited up doing the same thing, we be like "Daammmmmmnnnnnn"
trueee it also makes beginners more tempted to wear gear and be safe
Squid life
SinR6 my question is, could I wear a bike helmet for long boarding?
@@muffinedits165 I have seen some boarders wear a bike helmet so go ahead
@@muffinedits165 It's better than nothing but the issue is longboarding helmets are made to protect the back of your head and bikes the front. Since when you fall on a longboard it tends to shoot forward and try to throw you off backwards while bikes you tend to go over the front of the handlebars. So they're made for different things and hitting the back of the head is serious so I'd grab a longboarding helmet.
Thanks mate. Good clip. Just into surfing and got a drop through longboard too. Wife thinks I'm nuts at 48 yrs old and going through another mid life crisis. She maybe right but hell it feels great! All the best..
I know what you mean. I just had my board from Ridge delivered yesterday. I'm 52. I skated a lot in my youth (always dreaming of wanting a set of Kryptonics) and just wanted to try it out again. It's a cheaper mid-life crisis than buying a Porsche.
nice. what the hell is a midlife crisis even. just do whatever the f you wanna do.
Into board sports all my younger life then about 20 years never riding any board. Now into longboarding only a few weeks and realizing how much of myself has been missing all these years. Not too old, not riding MAKES you old. Keep on riding!
@@giovanniberkien4314 a midlife crisis is when you suddendly realize you're not immortal and the time to do the things you always wanted to is running out!
hell yeah, why should age limit something we want to do? its never too late
This guy can explain things in a very intelligible way. I wish my teachers in school could speak like that. Maybe I would've been more educated..
Robert328851 yep it would be cool if they teach us how to skate Lol.
@@itdoesntmatteranymore3550 best
RobbK maybe you should have just paid more attention and didn’t expect your teachers to do all the work
We're out here roasting all out old and current t teachers
@@ler8957 well a lot of teachers these days don't even educate they just teach politics that are useless in daily life public school has become so radicalized by politics that my future kids will either be homeschooled or in a private school that doesn't tolerate that kind of bullcrap. Especially that racist CRT lunacy crap that teaches white kids that they're all racist and black kids that all they have to do is cry and complain to get what they want. Which not only is racist towards white people but it's also degrading towards black people and I don't support it one bit. If they actually taught basic human decency that would be fine but right now politics have taken over schools and it's sickening to the core of the very social fabric of society.
Your videos are very informative and help a ton. As a super noob long-boarder I am trying to take in all the advice I can. Bought my first board in my mid 40s. If I don't get myself killed, I'll continue to watch. Thanks and namaste!
HNX Media How's it going so far bro? Hope its good;)
I'm with you! I didn't get my board until 31 and I'm trying to figure out how to brake still. Hills are scary lol.
Yeah, geezer crew in the house! I got my first longboard (electric) at 38. Now that I'm comfortable using it to commute, I wanna try "tricks" (or rather, just look stylish).
Geezer here too 👵🏼. Got mine at 37. 😁 Still learning. I hope I can learn! I get bored just walking around everywhere in NYC.
Lol Geezer Gang! 32 here and I just got my first longboard a few weeks ago. I cannot wait for the day I don't fall on my ass regularly anymore lol.
Such a good teacher
Kalingo how
Kalingo you're not very humorous
Kalingo then what's the point of joking about racism
Kalingo then what were u joking about
It's that kid Nick how is he being racist? 😂
Ayy I'm goofy footed too
Same my dude
Same.....I geuss. Im right handed but also right footed. Lol
Ricky Ferguson Im strange too. Im Goofy (lefty) on all board sports, but im right at kicking balls. Im right handed on writing and grabbing things, but left in two-handed items (baseball bat, hockey-sticks, etc).
goofy gang 👌🏻
I skate goofy but olley regular...
Almost 4 years later and still the best longboarding lesson I've seen on CZcams.
It’s rlly great
Kicking ur wheel is scary 😂😂😂 i did it and I almost went flying and I didn't even have any speed going
Jay .S. Hahaha same! It just happened to me today 😂 I felt like a noooob
Jay .S. i agree 😂 it happened to me last night 😅
Kalingo huh? How did i became racist?
Jay .S. shits embarrassing lol
C'est un tragédie vraiment
As an older guy, it's nice to see a young person who knows how to talk properly and explain something to a camera. Great job sir.
Wtf
Bruh what
Um what-
KIDS THESE DAYS CANT EVEN TALK PROPERLY
Ujhih!j
Just bought my first longboard today. Never ridden skateboards before and I’m 44. Cheers for the tips, it’s time to get practicing.
I am 44 also . I am learning slowly. I learned the older you are the longer it hurts. I a also female.
Wear hip pads
That was the best explanation out of the 20 i watched, awesome job! Time to practice 😄
“Maybe there’s gravel there, maybe there’s a dog 🐕, something you don’t want to hit.” Lmao 😂
a lot of skateboarders wear caps backwards, does that count as a helmet?
SAFETY FIRST KIDS!
When duh no Would u rather crack ur head or wear a helmet
helmets aren't lame dude
Yeah that counts
edoge183 you are dumb
Tony hawks just fine 😂😂😂
It makes me more aerodynamic 😂
This is the best video I've seen so far regarding how to turn/carve. I'm a beginner (a few days in), and the biggest problem I have right now is making the board go where I want it to go. Very helpful advice, especially the tip for leading with the shoulders
bro your speaking/explaining skills are on point. great vid.
Love all the kinesthetic references and visuals. Well taught, thank you.
I really appreciate your breakdown and detailed steps on how to control the board. Super laid back description and I was able to follow everything you said.
I really appreciate these videos and your clear teaching style. Very helpful.
Thank you! You have a great demeanor and approach that makes it easy for newbies to grasp the concepts. Nice work.
this video was really helpful you have polnted all the neccessary things for the beginners! thanks for not telling your life story and for teaching us :) you rreally are a good teacher by the way
I just started yesterday and your videos have really really helped me feel so much more comfortable!
This video helped me learn what I know for my longboard riding. Thanks.
Thanks for this--really helpful! I definitely needed these carving tips.
Ayyyy! Just wanted to say thank you so much for this video! I just started longboarding this summer and followed this vid to really learn things and the whole "leading your turns with your shoulder" thing made ALL the difference. Cheers
Thanks for the video . Especially with the pushing. As a newbie skater I need all the basics and you get in depth when explaining the steps. You actually explained why I fell. I was pushing and my foot got caught by the board. Lol. Feel forward and about one hospital visit later....
Anyway thanks. I subscribed. Please keep the videos coming.
Haven't been on my board for about 10 years and wanna get back on. This video so helpful and encouraging. Love this!! Thanks Spencer and DB! 🤙
Bro you legit have the best video for beginners, you explained it perfectly and gave actual info on what your feet should be doing. Solid one my bro 🤙🏾
Your videos are the best. Straightforward, no posing, and they immediately taught me the basics without a bunch of 'pretend' beginner skills. Thanks a lot.
Good stuff, dude. I never skated before, only in-lines and skis, so it's a new concept, very well explained. Thanks!
Awesome tutorial man, thanks for taking the time to post it. I'm an out of practice, almost 40-something who used to surf, longboard and snowboard. 20 years or more since I broke my knee snowboarding and I'm finally back on a longboard. It's been easier to watch the videos and get back on a board watching your stuff, so again many thanks!
I just bought my first DB longboard yesterday and absolutely love it. This video also gave the best beginner tips I’ve seen in my search on YT today. Thanks for all you do!
Most informative and enjoyable video on this topic I have come across so far... Really helped out... Thank you.. 🙏🏼👍🏻✌🏼
Good video, best one I have seen on the subject
This has to be one of the best, most dumbed down tutorial for long boarding i have ever seen. This guy has got it
I have watched tons of videos to learn longboarding. This video is different. He is telling the key points. As a biker, your eyes are very important, it leads you to where you wanna go. Another point is to look forward all the time, this is very important as well. Thanks a lot. This video helped me a lot.
I really appreciate you and Braille keeping the instructionals simple and professional 👍
This video describes exactly the things I‘m experiencing as a beginner. Thanks for all the hints. I’ll give them a try. Sure they’ll help.
This is such good advice! I don’t even have a longboard (yet) but this video made me really excited to try it out!!
the way you explain it is amazing coz I totally understand it! bhahahahaha I've had my first longboard last year and I had never ever skated in my life. I didn't even check any videos about it at the time and just had a go at it. now I know I've been "carving"! instantly subscribed!
Great basics. and a very positive attitude.;)
Really clear and well presented, many thanks.
This is a great video!!! Good Job man!!!
Been boarding for 5 years now and I remember watching this after my brother started, before I even owned one, lol, it helped a lot and its interesting to see the other side of this vid and really get a sense of how well he explained everything.
This is valuable stuff, very well presented...Nice work. ☮️
Thank you so much, this video really helps. Keep up the good work!! 👍👍👍
Thanks for posting this it has been a big help!

Subscribed. Clearly spoken, normal dude and informative
Just got my longboard today, really helpful video👏👏
Great video for beginners! Thanks a lot!☺
This was very easy to follow. Im listening to this before and after a skate sesh.
Nicely put.
Great message
Have a great day.
G.
Best video for beginners... spot on bro! Happy skating ;)
Spencer, it's my first time longboarding and your videos helped me out a lot! Thank you so much!
Glad to hear it!
Really helpful and informative video!
That tip about looking where you want to go really worked instantly! You don't even have to think about on what leg you want to put more weight while carving. I did notice I should not look over the shoulder, because then I've lost balance.. Thanks 😬
Thanks for the very helpful instructions.
Good tutorial. They teach the same thing in riding a motorcycle, the motorcycle goes where you look, very important. Great stuff!
Thanks a lot, Spencer! Cool stuff!
Great tutorial video
Such a good teacher!!!!
This was super helpful! Thank you!
This is awesome and super informative. Thanks!! 😌🤙🏼
Though some of this information seems obvious, it's actually really really helpful and well presented. Thanks for this one, it got me started on getting the basics down :-).
Awesome video! Thank you!
Great tutorial thanks 🙏🏻
Awesome video thanks man keep it up your very helpful :)
Great vid bro, keep up the great work...
Thank you so much! My girlfriend loves riding her boards and I've been pretty stiff on the board but this will definitely help
Thanks for the tips. Great explanation. Subbed 😊
I know how to longboard but I still watched this because of the excellent instruction. Well done my dude!
Great video. Well explained and good visual stuff too demonstrating the moves. PS - I'm a 40 year old ex-snowboarder (too poor to head to the mountains these days all the way from England). Starting out on a longboard!
Thanks for the tips!!
Late to the party but just getting into it. That was a very good instructional video. One of the best I've seen. Oh yeah....love that Tshirt!
Those were some very helpful tips. Thanks and God bless! 🙂🙏🏻❤
This guy is bloody great, a young lad that’s a natural teacher. I hope he’s gone onto teaching/helping others 👍🏻
Nice video mate!
Thank you! Very useful!
Very informative! Thanks!
Hey Spencer I just started out with longboarding and hilariously the hardest part for me is pushing and gaining speed on a longboard, especially on rough surfaces (even sidewalk "cracks") I tend to lose balance when I'm pushing pretty hard (maybe on the 2nd-3rd push) -so my question is: where do you put your weight?
I've been putting weight on my pushing foot when I'm pushing, and this is because I've found if I put too much weight on the foot on the board, I tend to get caught up in the cracks on sidewalks (they're reasonably deep here) and the board stops suddenly and I fall over.
Thoughts on this?
kandyrew Try to use Tracers blink
kandyrew skate in the street.
put more weight on the foot that stays on the board, you should be able to stand on the board with just that foot on the bolts and balance. learning to push, try to push gently, but do it in smooth pavement so there isn't any annoying cracks lol
WTF? Been watching your overwatch videos for months Kandy! Didn't expect sou on a completely unrelated video hahaha
I have the same problem with cracks. Mounds of grass growing through pavement and loose gravel etc. Roads arent an option due to fact theyre busy and 80kmph. Just finding it hard to stay on the board when traveling where i live
Awesome vid!
Great video, thanks !
Great video. Learned a ton
I've had a wave board for about 5 years. im planning to move onto longboarding, because my legs are starting to hurt alot while riding my wave board. this video was really helpful! I meanwhile still have my wave board while i wait to get a longboard :)
Like this dudes attitude and there's legit great info in here for beginners
Thx man I found this really helpful
Nice video pretty helpful.
