Nice video
This only applies when setting up for a trick. If you wanna push fast and long, your foot should be straight. Twisting your knee does not only make it harder to balance, it also puts unnecessary stress on the joint and it looks less casual. Look at pics of Gino Ianucci. His is often referred to as "the best push". If he pushes down the street, the foot is completely straight. If you wanna make distance, it's the way to go.
Having my front foot angled like that feels very akward and feels unnatural to me but the rest is very useful, thank you for the tips!
you dont have to angle your foot as mush as is said in the video however even adding a slight angle to your foot GREATLY helps with balance
The best, most in-depth explanation of how to walk-the-dog I have ever seen. Extremely helpful! Told me things no other video has. Great job of teaching!
❤fire you are the 👑🛹
Awesome tips! Little details it helps people like me to hear (like head placement, etc).
this was awesome advice man. I loved the visual breakdowns! My foot rests natutally like that so I'm glad i can stop forcing my front foot straighter
I gonna improve my tricks a lot with this video thanks
wooooow
My favorite part is how he spends 2 minutes stressing never to push with your toes pointing forward, then proceeds to push with his toes forward. Because that's perfectly fine to do. Been doing it probably longer than this dude's been alive. (32 years)
Ohhhhhhh 👏👏👏👏
Great video and tips keep good work up
Awesome!
Do you always have your head over the board nose when doing tricks and rail tricks?
Looks painful. I can't skate like that lol
Cool work man !
Sharp and smooth... wow !
Damm I'm glad the feed showed me this video !

It does not matter where you place your frontfoot if you can steer, keep balance and ride fast in that position. ;-) Even pushing mongo is only a question of style like the mallgrab is. The best skill is to be able to ride confident in all stances and directions no matter where exactly your feets are positioned.
❤

Thanks! Best video on the subject. Maybe you could have added some tips for the arms (I struggled a bit to find out how they could help me).
👏👏👏🔥
Eu to abismado com a segunda manobra! você fez uma lambreta com o skate!
going good bro
Thanks man, that's a very helpful video.
You’re welcome!!! I’m glad this video was helpful to you 💚
@@marciotorressb I'm nearly 50 years old and started skateboarding just around 2 month ago. I got an 8,7" wide Deck with 8.75" low trucks and 58mm 93A Wheels...the Andy Anderson Heron Egg that's symetrical. So far so good but in the first weeks I always thought that I bought a deck that's to small for me. ( Shoes 12 size, 1.88m tall, 100 Kilo ) But your video as well as some help from an old friend helped me soo much.... I always was wiggling around with my feet and since they are " longer " than the width of my board I thought about buying a 10" or even wider board. ......your video showed me, that the size of my board ist absolutely fine.
First I did goofy know im riding regularly
It is not goofy and regularly. There are both the two normal ways to push. So it is called regular and goofy
@@michaelkrauer1286 I know one in person who switched from pushing mongo goofy to pushing "normal" regular in his earlier days of riding. Maybe he ment that too. That's not that uncommon. At some point it should also not be a problem to push in every position and direction.
Mongo push is great
Nah. It does not look good and feels much more awkward than normal pushing.
@@michaelkrauer1286it feels awkward because you push "normal" stance regularly ;-) Pushing switch also feels awkward if you do that rarely.
There is no right or wrong way to push. There is no right or wrong way to skate. Unless you're out there having a pissed off tantrum all the time then you're doing it wrong. If you're happy with what you doing, you're having a good time. You're doing it right. Don't let assholes like this. Tell you what you should or shouldn't do. This is coming from a 54-year-old man who started skating when he was 6 years old. Don't listen to these assholes who tell you what you can and cant do to have a good time on a skateboard
They are not assholes. But you are right. Foot position does not matter. Progression and having fun matters.
His accent makes this like ASMR to me
I reallly appreciate the diagram on the top corner for us goofy skater too, I subscribed and waiting for more videos from you. Great work, you will do great
Mongo push is underrated. I've ridden super tight trucks since forever, and pushing mongo allows you to turn easier. It also lessens the chances of getting murdered by a pebble. Only thing mongo sucks for is foot placement before a trick when you have limited time.
lol mongo is for people that never learned to skate
@@thebayharborbutcher9115 good skater can ride both
@@thebayharborbutcher9115 mongo is for pushing harder when behind your mom
iv been trying to teach my son this for months now. he is only 7 but maybe this video will help him. thx my dude your awesome :)
thank you Marcio Torres you make skating brilliant and have great advise you are such a great skateboarding youtube creator unlike brallie!
The best trick I´ve seen ever! Awesome video Marcio. Also I love your videos on IG you´re unique for sure
I’m so glad to know that!!! I’m happy to help you with this video 💚 Thanks for watching
Mongo push is not a mistake....if it is a mistake, tiago lemos is a mistake. If tiago is a mistake, i will want to be one too.
Oh yeah, it’s not a mistake but it can makes things difficult for those who are learning how to skateboarding specially when it comes to skate in obstacles. Tiago Lemos knows how to skate and he pushes Monho in his Swing stance like a huge amount of skaters do but again they already know how to skate Anyway the most important thing to me is you or anybody learns how to skate and have fun 💚
He only pushes switch mongo which is a much more natural push in regards to switch skating. To push normal in switch stance you actually have to practice. But yes, there's nothing wrong with a switch mongo push. If you're pushing mongo in your normal stance, that is something you should correct.
gracias amigo por los palabras
De nada amigo 💚
Riding with your knee inward like that will likely hinder your balance once you gain speed, but it will certainly cause strain and internal issues by forcing the knee sideways every push inevitably. The knee isn't designed to take side to side force/movements. The optimal way for balance to have your feet while pushing is the same position you'd have them for running, toes pointed TOWARD where you are going. Otherwise, you are putting unnecessary and unnatural strain on the knee and limiting your pushing potential by the awkward position. The motion to go from toes pointed to where you are pushing toward and back to your riding position should be only ONE fluid motion. Riding position should be shoulders aligned with the board, and feet with shoulders. Soulders should swing open and the feet should follow by turning to be pointed toward where you are rolling all in one motion, then a one motion return to shoulders and feet squared off with the width of the board. You can think of it like opening to push, and closing to ride. The pushing foot should also while pushing point towards where you are rolling. Think of pushing in skating like walking or running, you always want point your body where you are going when you take a step (push) that way, or the ergonomics on the body are wrong and can result in otherwise avoidable issues. Push, ride, push, ride, push push push, ride 🛹
Very good constructive feedback. Thanks!
The hero we need.Good advice man💪
yeah, the video is just wrong
Yeah - I see where Marcio is coming from. I took a few heavy slams when new and learning to push and the board came in to towards my pushing leg and I had no way to counter balance. So I started riding as he suggested above (my own idea). Now my standing leg knee is not in a good way. And I'm trying to learn to push 'properly' - standing foot pointing forwards.
