I commented a few weeks back about my inspiration to train despite being medically disabled since birth. I hate-watched these videos thinking the whole time how sickening it was that I “could never do any of that”, but HUGE UPDATE! I wanted to let anyone know, if they see this, I started PT and “train” twice a week, and now I can ride a stationary bike for nearly a two full minutes without stopping!! 1 minute and 54 seconds is my record!! Totally exhausting but I did it, and I’m really proud, and my PT even says “we ascend together” to pump me up. I’m even raising money now for my own research into my illness by doing a marathon stream! Anyways thanks again Cody 🫡💪
I know this is becoming regular for Cody but the fact that he's casually biking over 50 miles and just like eh pretty good ride is crazy to me like, GOOD JOB MAN!!!! YOURE ZOOMING! 🚴
cody's cardiovascular endurance is so insane to me like he just straight up rides the bike for 4 HOURS but when I have to walk up a slightly steep hill I feel like I'm being waterboarded because I am so out of breathe. Solely doing cardio for cody at this point
Cody, I ran my first marathon yesterday in San Antonio, TX (Run the Alamo Marathon) & I saw someone holding a “Energy is Everything” sign. Unfortunately I saw it right when I was running past them otherwise I would’ve given them the choo-choo signal. But it made me smile since I first discovered this channel right when I started training for the race. Thank you so much for the inspiring & entertaining videos you make & I wish you the best in your Ironman next month!

@@samshaw7087 okay at its most basic, it’s just weighing yourself in Kg before and after aerobic exercise. This is important since 1 L of water weighs ~1 Kg. After time, weigh again and (if your scale was calibrated and you’re wearing the same amount of clothes), you should have lost around 1-2 Kg per hour, which would mean you sweat 1-2 L per hour! A lot of people lose more or less though, so knowing can help you track your if you’re actually replacing the right amount of fluid during and after exercise. I hope that helped :)
My knee was collapsing after my first half marathon. Super bizarre. It felt like one of my legs was shorter than the other! And it lasted for like a month. Currently training for my first full in May. Ran my furthest ever this Saturday. 15 miles! WE ASCEND TOGETHER, YALL.

Cody thanks to you my wife only wants to eat oats and wake up at 4:30am now. Also, she's really into her male coworker who she likens to a locomotive in the sack. Cheers mate this channel has done wonders.
Ran a marathon in October and had experienced a lot of pain in the first few months of training- but when I stopped pressuring myself to be fast or look cool and ran comfortably w good form, my pain went away. Still ran the marathon at a time I was proud of and w no pain at all! Glad your pain is getting a bit better.

Just finished a four mile run. You inspired me to start running again. I have completed two official half marathons in the past but the panerama depression hit me hard. I gained like 50lbs during that time. I’m now 25 lbs down and building my miles. Choo choooooo!!!!!
I absolutely hate exercise, I have no interest in races or marathons, but yet I still for some strange reason find myself so interested in these videos and find myself watching every time you post. It’s weird, but it’s kind of cool. 🤷🏻♀️😄 I wish you the best of luck with the race! P.S. Your cat is absolutely adorable and deserves the world! 🥰
Hi Cody! Just wanted to let you know that I started training for a marathon around the time you started this channel & it’s been great to see you progress. I’ve had a numbing feet issue when running & I’ve tried numerous methods to try to fix it but nothing has helped YET. Seeing you work through some of the setbacks that you’ve had motivated me to keep going while still taking care of myself. So thank you for filming both the good & the bad. Heavily appreciated!
That is amazing! I didn't realize the length of the bike swim and run of an Ironman .. that is another level. Like the dedication. Wow props to everyone who pushes themselves to do these things because it's like to become a better version of themselves. I was always completely removed from that community but this is really interesting
One thing you may consider is trying to get as many runs on a surface other than pavement aka dirt or gravel paths/roads and grass. I noticed when I used to run competitively, running on soft surface increased my longevity and decreased my rate of injury significantly. I'd sometimes even settle for mind numbing loops on a grass soccer field (10 miles worth) just to avoid the pavement. Was able to survive 100-110 mile weeks this way. Just grab some music and zone out. Your body may feel sore if you start running more on soft surface, but I usually found this was because all my stability muscles had to work a little bit harder - still worth it. Keep grinding!
Hey Cody I’m encouraged by all your doing here. I’m a D1 athlete with a knee thing that just came up and it’s so frustrating. Seeing you doing well with your injury helps a lot
I've never run before, but these videos were so inspiring that I decided to push myself and yesterday I was finally able to get a whole mile non-stop!!! Not super impressive, but I'm really proud of myself!! Thanks Cody (:
I’ve been exercising regularly since New Years and it’s all because of your videos motivating me. I watch them when I’m in the gym, ascending, and after I go on runs outside. I wish you nothing but health, so you can keep pushing yourself, and all of us, to be our best 😊

Cody, i completely understand ur frustrations when it comes to ur knee pain! i was an avid running growing up from elementary to high school. I would run on the track team every year. running was my outlet. i would run 5.5 min miles. eventually i had to undergo knee surgery when I was 15 n it completely dive bombed my track career n leisure running. fast forward to when i was 22, another incident occured that caused me to have a diagnosis in my knee called rsd n another surgery. im now 27 yo n i have to carefully plan my running if i want to run. i haven't been able to push past an 8.5 min mile n i have to take the entire next day off of everything if i choose to run. it's very frustrating n using mind over matter tactics just doesn't work. sometimes the body really is injured n we have to accept it. but watching ur videos is motivating to do some type of physical activity day to day n continue to push myself to do what i can do on the given moment. ive followed ur other online endeavors prior to Cody trains but this is by far my favorite content. 💘💘

You describing how you might keep getting injured because of a weird gait made me laugh so much because I had the same thing except I only realised once I was getting rid of a bunch of shoes and saw how the soles of my left shoes were always slightly more worn down. I learned about the Iron Man from my ex, his dad was an absolute beast. He’d do one every few years. I was lucky enough to tag along to the 2021 Coeur d’Alene Iron Man which was absolutely insane. It was about 108° that day. It was the most amazing feat of human capability I’d ever seen. Dudes in his 60’s and a lawyer and he trains every single day. Before Covid he’d bike to work, during Covid he’d wake up at 3 or 4 and train till he started work online. He really is almost never around, it’s definitely a lifestyle. He stays pretty social tho, he runs bike groups and all his friends are Iron Men too so when he’s training he’s social. Best of both worlds.
