First off, I love this new setup. Your place is beautiful! Secondly, thanks for sharing about the impact you’ve made working in youth development. That’s my heart & soul 🙌🏾. Social work is a helping profession and that’s what drew me to it!

I like this background + vibe, Gabby! It's a good look.
Here's another "truth": it's your social work skills, not the title of "social worker" that matter the most when you're looking for a job or leveraging your skills. Like you said, there are a lot of misconceptions around the title "social worker", but when you can talk about your skills - your ability to problem-solve, your ability to manage in diverse environment, your ability to apply solution-focused thinking to system's management - those skills are what translates to people as valuable. So highlight them!
I talk about this one a lot on my channel because a lot of social workers don't know that they have options in the field and that it's so diverse.
Another great video, Gabby! Here's my smiliey face. 😜

Great point Eva! Talking about and highlighting your skills learned is so important. That helps people to better understand the value behind your SW degree. That is especially important in macro social work for me, since I work non traditional jobs, and rarely with other social workers.

I adore your videos! I am currently in a MSW program and on a similar path to become a macro social worker. In addition to obtaining my MSW, I would like to also go into business for myself. Do you think that you could make a video regarding MSW graduats who are also entrepreneurs? I follow the CZcams channel Rich social worker and she makes videos about entrepreneurship, but I would love to see your perspective on this manner.
You are right, there are several misconceptions about social workers and I thank you for shedding light on those who are unable or unwilling to see a social workers potential. You are so inspirational and thank you for making your videos so informative. ❤️

Thank you Kierra! I appreciate your kind words 😊😊 and I was going to mention Eva from Rich Social Worker’s channel. She really does these kind of interviews best. She has talked to so many social Work entrepreneurs on her channel! I will continue to highlight my entrepreneurship/business journey on my channel too! And what it means to be a social worker who also enjoys business. I can definitely delve into this conversation more!

Just to clarify, depending where you live, social workers can be underpaid and overworked. I'm a lmsw based in New York, where some of us have a 9-5 and provide fee for service.

Haha….you are a bit god and hero complex and that’s why I found so many narcissistic ppl in this field…..that’s the true. Going around to “fix” ppl lives? I am and still in this field for almost 20 years and I learned, and taught and humbled by my clients….in many cases, my client were the one that changed and “fixed” my attitude and my life…..
