    None of my videos are that good, so I rely on meme cut aways to keep people watching. It's more of what pop culture references I'm about to make vs what my actual content is. I'm not monetized, so don't worry, I don't make any money off of this.

    A very thorough and accurate review.
    I never paid much attention to HK prior to the introduction of the P30. I carried and loved my Sig P226 throughout my LE career. I knew HKs were great guns, but thought they were overpriced. Then, I made the mistake of holding a P30 shortly after it’s introduction, during a look and see trip to my local gun store. It was the most ergonomically perfect gun I had ever held and is to this day. Love at first sight. So, I purchased a P30S V3 in 40 S&W and that became my CCW gun. I still love my Sig but it spends most of its retirement time in my safe. Shortly thereafter, I added an HK45. Loved that one too, but it’s kind of large to conceal carry in the warmer months. It is however a great winter carry gun. I have since added an HK45C, P30SKS V3 (as my primary CCW), and just recently a P30LS V3 IN 9MM. Honestly, I probably didn’t really need the P30L, but in addition to being a great looking gun, it’s one of the best shooting guns that you will ever hold.
    IMO, no one makes a better gun than HK at any price.
    I’ve been told I have too many, but I enjoy rotating through the line up and carrying them each at some point.
    One last point. Regarding the V3 trigger…it gets beat to death by the keyboard warriors. It’s function was not an oversight or mistake by HK. It was designed to be as it is. The DA first shot is meant to be stiff and deliberate to avoid accidental discharges during high stress scenarios. HKs are designed to be combat guns, not range queens. That being said, not only is it not that bad, but it gets better with use. And if you still don’t like it after a few hundred rounds, spend 99.00 on a Gray Guns short reset trigger and the problem is solved. I have two and love them. As for the complaints on the paddle style mag release, I now prefer it hands down. From what I read in the comments on these reviews that is more often the case with most.
    So, if you find yourself on the fence, whining about the price, just save a little bit longer and take the plunge. You won’t regret it.
    One HK is better than two cheap guns and you will never again have to explain to anyone why you did it.

    • @zackzander425
      @zackzander425 Před 8 měsíci +3

      Exactly. One HK is better than 2 or 3 cheap pistols. People say they’re too much but have a safe full of Taurus, Rock Island, CZ, etc. This HK is literally the one and only pistol you would need. I’ve got the HK45, HK45c, P30SK and a few USP variants though. I carry them cocked and locked.

    Have had several variants of the P30. Liked them all. Had one of the gray framed ones too which I still wish I had. Currently have just 1. A V1 lite LEM with Trijicon HD’s on it with a little over 2k rounds thru. Still love the way the pistol feels in the hand. Will probably do a short reset mod one of these days but it’s not a super high priority. I also still think it’s probably the best looking polymer pistol that has ever been made.

    After owning a M&P, P365, XD-M, and a P30s... and a P30L in 40 S&W, I asked my local shop if the P30Ls in 9mm with night sights and 3 mags were in stock, they were... and I ordered 2, primary and backup. I've always liked the profile of the Colt Commander, and the P30L mimicks this closely, with double the capacity with the new 17 round magazines. As the P30 series is rated for NATO spec ammo, American +P is something this can easily handle, and on paper 9mm +p comes close to 45 ACP stopping power. Being that the P30 has a firing pin block and a hammer block safety, safety that operates independent of the decocker, a safety that doesn't inhibit the slide (why I got rid of the XD, no grip safety engaged, slide is locked), magazine releases that don't get "pressed" and cause magazine malfunctions... there are so many reasons to like this gun. Also... a recoil system with an integrated buffer? Nice... the new meprolight sights that ship from the factory are blacked our rear with tritium and the front has a bright neon ring that is high viz daylight and illuminates from the tritium in the front sight at night, that's a $150 add on out of the box... I carry in a Safariland 6378 ALS paddle holster and forget it's there. Great all around pistol for everything, edc, duty, home defense... love your videos bro, keep spreading the good word.

    The P30s are truly great guns. I was carrying a P30 or P30L for a while. Grayguns LEM. When I was sticking to HKs exclusively, I shot them extremely well. When I ventured out into SAO guns, I started noticing I was having issues getting hits with my LEM triggers. I’m assuming it was the long initial take up that was giving me fits. All of that led me to where I am today, which is either a 1911 or a G45 on my hip. I do plan to add a G17 at some point to have the same setup as a P30/ P30L. The G19 is nice but my hands are too wide for it and I get pinched when I try to reload quickly. Stupid wide hands.
    I am currently out of HKs, but I am watching anxiously to see what Earnest Langdon has coming down the pipe. For what he did to improve Berettas and Glocks, a Langdon Tactical P30 might be too good for me to ignore.

    I think the extra length of a P30L in an AIWB setup would be preferable to the P30 (really depends on your body type). Some holster makers like JM Custom Kydex will add extra holster length for small gun since the extra length can prevent the grip side from tilting over your belt. My USP 45 has been very comfortable AIWB despite the length. After handling a P30L in store today I am absolutely SOLD on it and can’t wait to pick one up when the budget allows. I was surprised I liked the web grip since I usually hate finger grooves. Also, the stock trigger is no where near as bad as people online make it out to be…

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  Před 2 lety +1

      The P30 series is excellent, especially with a short reset kit. The VP9 has a fast recoil impulse/cycle of operations. So I get that criticism. It isn't flippy for me, but it is a faster recoil if that makes sense. The P30 series doesn't suffer from that.

Fixed it most of the time but if I’m not really concentrating on my grip it won’t lock back. It’s weird I don’t have that problem on my Walther which has an equally long slide release but the lever rides up higher in the frame just enough that it doesn’t interfere for me. So I’m stuck between p30 and p30l. 1.) Since I run a tlr1 the holster is already longer than the gun, so should I just get a p30l to conceal instead of the p30 since the holster will be already longer? 2.) Does a p30 with tlr1 holster work for a p30l with tlr1?

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903  Před rokem +1

      If you get the holster for the P30L then the standard P30 will fit just fine because of how the gun is built. HK just made the slide and dustcover/pic rail longer. So the lockup will be on the same contact points. The P30L is a very solid carry gun because even with 17+1 and a light it's not too heavy. The P30 is a great carry piece without or with a TLR7 style light. But with a Surefire or Streamlight, the P30L and P30L holster is the way to go.

  • @TheBoxingCannabyte

    I love carrying the P30LS with grayguns srt I’ve had an sk and p2000 v2 lem .40 (got it super cheap and the P30LS both under $600 new, got lucky and a veteran discount) anyway if I knew what I know now and hadn’t had financial problems I would have switched the p2000 to v1 lem and grayguns lem mods on it assuming they would work on the p2000. And would never have sold the SK (I admit I prefer a ruger LCR or smith ez shield for smaller carry)
    Anyway I prefer hammer fired guns so the P30LS is perfect. That said I plan on getting a p30 v1 lem with grayguns when I can.
    I just want to add to anyone who maybe misses an m9/92, is on a budget and wants a 1911, great glock clone or fantastic beretta clone and can’t afford the second two (tried the clones next to the real things and holy shit they were great) the Girsan beretta clone and Glock clones are amazing for the price the Glock clones mimic my beloved gen 3 Glocks and the beretta clones and 1911s come with a lot for $4-500.
    Just wanted to throw that out there for anyone on a budget or who’s had to say goodbye to their old favorites or first pistol (m9 for me)
    Anyway for my money the P30LS is about as good as it gets since I enjoy da/sa and SAO carry, all the stages available technically
    Also the vp9 > Glock for me but the EZ Shield > Glock 19 since I don’t need a billion rounds when carrying 10-15+1 is enough (with extensions for the 15+1) with my arthritic hands that single stack feel same with a 9mm 1911 or ruger LCR just feels great
    Double stack wise a SIG p220 carry or 229 with the better grips are nearly as comfortable as the HK which is unparalleled for the grips having 27 different ways to configure (talking p30/vp9, the hk45 doesn’t have that option buuut the hk45 c feels great. I got a USPc .45 I’d almost consider trading in for the 45c. But a USP to me is something you don’t get rid of lol)
    Honest outlaw has some great vids on all of this I’d recommend checking them out
    For people curious about the lem Colon Noirs p30 grayguns vid (just type that into the search engine) and Sean Burrows Hk lem video both cover it about as well as it can and holy shit Noirs grayguns lem p30L got decked out so nice by…. Shit i forgot the name but they are located where I live in Salt Lake City which is kinda an unofficial HK hot zone. Hkparts.net is right down the street from me and the highway patrol used to carry the Hk p7 which is my favorite striker fired pistol
