      The Bose is a Beats on steroids. You cannot compare Sony to Bose for Audio Quality and now even for noise cancellation. Bose sound it is not neutral.. it is muffled like it is on the Beats.

      That's your opinion. The Bose QC35 is a wonderful headphone just like the WH-1000Xm2 and PX are. Can't go wrong with either of the 3 in the long run.

    I have both headphones, the Sony 1000mx3 and the B&W PX.
    SOUND:
    However, I intend to say that B&W has a
    more intense bass, and Sony has a more BOOOMMM bass! Did I make myself understand?
    After listening a techno music at high volume,
    the results in my head were different:
    With the Sony 1000mx3 I kept my head vibrating.
    With the B&W PX I got my head to echo inside!
    The B&W PX bass comes in inside the head,
    and the Sony 1000mx3 vibrates the outside of the head.
    Different results for different tastes.
    I prefer the Bass of the B&W PX, more real and penetrating, like a punch in the head.
    Sony sounds a little artificial.
    In addition, the B&W PX volume is higher.
    When it reaches the volume limit on the Sony 1000mx3, the B&W still has another 20% to add.
    Without a doubt, the sound of the B&W PX is superior, more defined and more elegant.
    I say this without any tendency, because I bought both.
    Do not forget the following:
    B&W is a company dedicated exclusively to sound, equipping high-end cars like Ferrari, BMW's etc.
    Sony produces a wide variety of things, from mobile phones to microwaves. B&W is a lady of sound
    quality, because she dedicates himself exclusively to this.
    COMFORT:
    With regard to comfort, the Sony 1000mx3 are more comfortable, nor giving almost by the presence of them in the head. 👍👍👍
    However, while the B&W PXs are less comfortable, the ears stay free inside the earpiece, being cooler and not causing perspiration.
    The Sony 1000mx3 ears do not have space inside the headphones, and make them perspire on hotter days.
    Unsustainable in summer days, much less to walk down the street on sunny days. 👎
    The quality of construction is top notch in the B&W PX. All in aluminum, and genuine leather. It costs € 400 in Europe but
    pays for the elegance and quality of construction. 👍
    The Sony 1000mx3 is all in plastic and synthetic skin. In Europe costs € 380, but it seems that we are buying plastic.👎
    However the Sony are lighter and therefore more comfortable. 👍
    NOISE CANCELLATION:
    The Sony 1000mx3 has a perfect noise cancellation, it looks like you put your head inside a vacuum chamber. Perfect!
    👍👍👍
    The B&W PX though reasonable in noise cancellation, but are far from the Sony 1000mx3.
    Android/ Apple APPLICATION:
    With respect to the Android application to control the headphones, the Sony is perfect, as well as the indicator sounds in your own language.
    The B&W PX are just beeps. 👎👎👎
    The B&W PX application only serves to control the level of noise reduction (which is best to keep it OFF), and to control the system to pause the music when you remove the B&W PX from your ears (which works at 80%). The app for B&W PX is terribly basic 👎👎👎
    CONCLUSION?
    Comparing these headphones to a women, I would say:
    That the Sony are that kind of woman, very
    devoted to home and children, but a little less beautiful and more chubby.
    The B&W PX is that a elegant woman, very pretty, but untidy woman at home.
    So, if you prefer the ugly and dedicated woman at home, you will always look at the beautiful woman.
    If you prefer the elegant and beautiful woman, you go and wash your dishes at home. You choose. 😁😁😎
    I prefer the B&W PX,
    although I know it does not have all those features that would do it great.
    I'm more of a fan of B&W PX's aesthetic and sound elegance.
    If you choose B&W PX you will make a good choice, but sacrificing some aspects of the Sony 1000mx3 that would make music even more enjoyable.
    If you buy Sony, you're just one more who bought a headset for €350.
    If you buy B & W, whoever watches you knows that you like not just music but sound quality.
    Some of the "business" websites that do the comparatives, seem to give 100% preference to Sony, but gave me the impression of sponsorship by Sony.
    😀😀😀
    Because everyone knows Sony, and a lot of people have never heard of Bowers & Wilkins, only sound connoisseurs know it.
    Thus, Sony is more mediated, and ends up having a control of public opinion, and obviously creates a subconscious tendency by Sony, even some of youtubers who make these comparatives
    .
    If you are young, and like techno, buy a Sony.
    But if you are over 40 years old, and want to make up for the lack of youth with charm, buy B&W PX 😎👍 .
    .

    I bought the Bowers and Wilkins PX and decided to return them. They were the best sounding headphones I have ever used and the noise cancelling although not brilliant was good enough to remove the low rumbling sounds from public transport enabling me to listen to music comfortably including Beethoven, rock music, jazz and vocal music. However, they were uncomfortable with my glasses on and this was a real issue. I am going to try the Sony WH 1000x and see if I prefer them, otherwise I may end up buying another pair of the B and W PX

    ThankX buddy, This comparison is exactly what I was looking for... I bought the Bose 35 headphone 5 days ago and returned them the very next day. They gave me serious hotspots on the top of my head and ears. I have been using Bose for the past 15 years. The B&W headphones caught my attention and I am waiting for a call back from B&W. I want to see if they will give me a price break. I am a retired US Military pilot. I am extremely hard on two items, RayBan Aviator sunglasses, and Headphones.
    After watching this video I have made my decision. (1) I am going to purchase today BOTH headsets. (2) If I find one that I like I will keep them if not I will just return both pair and keep searching. I do though lean toward the B&W. I am a BMW snob. I have had 4 BMW's in my life. I gave one BMW to my daughter and we now have 2, an older 325 and a new 528.
    You have NOT heard a car stereo until you get into a BMS with a B&W Stereo system upgrade. The price is $4000 for the 1400 watt system. Next time you get the chance go to a BMW dealer and sit in a 2018 5 or 7 series and listen to the system. It will blow your mind. Nice back yard, open. I wish we had about 10 acres. Where r u located? Again thanks for the review BIG help

    One thing to note though is that both of these support APTX HD codec, so the bluetooth sound improves significantly. Sony's 1000xM2 also supports LDAC which is pretty similar to APTX HD, but sony product only I think. Very much need to cover those features.

    I got the B&W PX a few weeks ago and absolutely love them, and also their luxurious design.
    I found that the PX, didn’t become their very best until they had 30+ hours of running-in.

    Hello i have the xm3'sthey are really really good in a lot of ways. I've had them for a few week's now and I can now give a honest review on them. I've have the Bowers and Wilken's Px's,Sennheiser px 550's and the parrot zik's and now these here. The build quality of them has gotten better from the last model mainly the fit. The noise cancelling is simply outstanding. The call quality isn't the best either. The sound signature on them is really good! My ear's did slightly sweat after a few hour's of wearing them though. These are The only headphone's I've ever owned that didn't cut out when I stepped into best buy! The touchpad you have to be precise with the gestures on it or you'll skip a song quite frequently. I also don't like the double tap to answer or pause you have to get that right to do either one of those. And other gripes are the long press of the power button on or off and that dang short ass charging cable they come with. It's like 2 or 3inches....

    at this price, i would choose b&w over the competition...I'm very sensitive when it comes to comfort, but I had a pair that were uncomfy in the beggining, but because it wasn't memory foam, it actually softened up the clamping force and the pads to my head to create a perfect fit...i think these would do the same, heard stories that actually happens..but I can still return them after 2 weeks if that's not the case and go for bose q35 lol..

I listen to rock and classical more than anything else, so really want to try the b&w px. I think I’m going to go back to the store and try the Sony again and change the profile.

      just thought i would update. i ordered the bowers and wilkins which sound amazing for a pair of bluetooth headphones, the sound is very similar to my audio technica ath-m50x. if i was going for sound alone, then these would be the wireless cans i would recommend, yet if you want noise cancelling, i would recommend the sony. i am getting my sony wh 1000x through the post today, so will be able to adjust the eq and really try them.
      for music listening i really don't think i will get the pleasure like i do with my audio technicas, but for sound cancelling they do a great job from my initial shop test.
      will give them a fair trial, will leave them on the side playing music all day and night, then try them.

      sarath mohan Between the P7W and PX. On the PX, I hear a more spacious soundstage, better transparency across the board primarily in the midrange, a tighter and more balanced bass and a more agile and dynamic sound than that of the P7W. The P7W is still no slouch, but when you listen to the PX and get acclimated with its sound you'll notice the improvements Bowers & Wilkins have bought to the table.

      MSR7 is more balanced and nuanced. You'll hear details and subtle layering of the sound easier with the MSR7. The PX is a warm and rich sort of syrupy sounding headphone that still has great layering and space. For commuting, the PX is the better headphone for most people thanks to the better noise isolation from ANC and the sound signature that plays well with masking environmental noises. For indoor listening, the MSR7 or Bose QC35 II sound clearer to my ears over the PX. I also love the QC35 II for outdoors usage as those have stunning ANC and comfort.

    Remember bluedio vinyl plus!
    They are not quite as neutral and clear as the Bose but the bass is much tighter and more in quantity, while the midrange is warm clear and fluid. IMO, they sound better than the Sony wh1000xm2. They are much louder and a little more clearer than the Sony’s with a tighter and better bass. Midrange is definitely better too.
    With the cable (wired), they are peers to top $300-$400 headphones in sound quality. They give my fidelio x1 and NAD VISO HP50 a run for its money (wired mode of course).
    Can’t wait for the new NAD VISO wireless to come out next month. Just hate the look of those headphones (same as the HP50s). But with unparalleled sound, I’ll maybe sacrifice looks I guess lol.

      Have the Sonys and Studio 3 in hand. The Sony’s are crisper with better mids but bulkier on head and leak 50% of the sound. No good for the office. The Beats are super comfy for me and have a tighter profile on my head so look better. The sound and noise cancelling is good enough with my 7+. They were cheaper as well with student discount. Waiting on my PX but I have a big head so concerned about fit.

      Drew M iOS devices are capable of AAC bluetooth streaming which is high quality when used with Apple Music or iTunes music files since they're streamed in AAC codec. If you're using ALAC files, your music will be transcoded to AAC prior to being sent to the headphones. The PX and WH-1000Xm2 both support AAC bluetooth transmission. Highest quality audio experience will be on the PX.

    And also between the PX and the Bose ?

    • @TheGamingAudiophile
      @TheGamingAudiophile  Před 6 lety +1

      Bass on the PX is the tightest of them all. The overall bass has great linearity with a tad bit of a subbass roll off. The Sony's are a bit more prominent in the subbass and also possess a great linearity in to the midrange. Mid-bass emphasis is the most apparent on the PX. The QC35 has the best subbass extension of the 3 with great linearity into the midrange. Quality wise, they are all well above average. The PX is the tightest and most agile sounding while the Bose covers a more of the spectrum with great linearity. Sony is more along the middle of the two.

    • @TheGamingAudiophile
      @TheGamingAudiophile  Před 6 lety +1

      Well, the H6 2nd Gen will not be as enjoyable when in loud environments because the majority of its subtle details will be lost unless you crank the volume damaging your hearing overtime. In terms of sound, the H6 is very clean and clear with a lean sound signature. Bass as a slight emphasis in the subs region which is what I prefer. The PX on the other hand is similarly clean sounding, but with a warmer tone. Can't go wrong with either in terms of sound. However, the PX retains this sound when outside thanks to ANC. Also, bluetooth is far more convenient that lugging around extra hardware and wires.

    I chose the Bose QC35 II's over the B&W PX because I thought the Bose had more bass. You mentioned the bass in these but there was just no comparison to me. However, overall I liked everything about the B&W, but these were only tested while in the store comparing the two before making a purchase the following day after testing... I wish that I had an additional $400 dollars to play with in order to purchase the B&W PX's too.... 🤣 🤣 🤣. But maybe I'll be able to afford the next generation B&W with a tad more bass & noise cancellation features. I also think that if I bring another pair of headphones home, the Mrs. might not be too happy... 🤣 🤣 🤣. The salesman at the audio store where I go spoke of the QC35's noise canceling being better for airline traveling vs the PX... But like you said, it's all about personal preference. Great review.

    • @Wistbacka
      @Wistbacka Před 6 lety +3

      DIsmayedConfuse first of all, aluminum is very soft and will scratch easily.
      Second of all, if you pay premium dollar for something, you expect premium protection and that the company itself would want to protect their customers product as well. Especially since all of their competitors provide a hard case.

    • @DIsmayedConfuse
      @DIsmayedConfuse Před 6 lety +2

      I hardly think that $400 for headphones is much of a premium. Competitors at this price point make extensive use of plastic. And the outer surface is Aluminum Oxide, which is actually pretty damned durable. Most jet aircraft make extensive use of aluminum. And plastic scratches more easily. But, hey, if the case is a deal breaker, then buy Sony or Bose.

    • @Wistbacka
      @Wistbacka Před 6 lety

      DIsmayedConfuse never said it was a deal breaker. It is just odd. The higher price, the weight, the lower comfort and lower ANC performance in combination is the dealbreaker when it comes to the B&Ws. Would just be better to get the B&W P7 at this point. Lighter and better audio.
      Also, 400 dollars is very much a premium price for headphones. Sure there are even more expensive cans, but that doesnt take away from the fact that 400 dollars for one set of headphones is quite expensive. Few people on the whole pay much over 200 dollars (if even so much) for headphones.
      I also thought at first that it is stupid to use plastic materials at this price range, but then I realized watching this video, that it is not good to make the headphones too heavy either. I have the 1000X, and they are borderline too heavy for long term comfort. I also tested the QC35 and PXC 550, and they are noticably lighter than the 1000X, even if it is a mere difference of 50 grams.

    I like the Bass Amount of the Sonys very much but the Bass bleeds in the Overall Soundquality, i cant recommend them because of that. Maybe the next Version.

    The Sony headphones sound veiled. So I bought the B&W PXs. It wasn't even close!

    Is there a possibility wherein a driver was damaged due to headphone tests?

    • @TheGamingAudiophile

      That is very rare. The driver was probably destined to fail due to manufacturing defect.

      John H9 while good doesn't have the ANC performance match the PX or WH-1000x.

    I am really on fence now. I want the best possible sound, but I also need to listen and answer other people around me. I also need to pick up phone calls (quite often). I thought Sony would be the best, since I could use ambient mode, or cover the ear to hear what others are saying. However, you pointed out that Sony have mediocre call quality. B&W could be discomforting over longer periods and have no ambient mode... I was also considering Sennheiser Momentum 2.0, but they have NC always on (which I cannot use in my office). Any advice? Do Bose QC35 II have good mics for phone calls?

    • @TheGamingAudiophile
      @TheGamingAudiophile  Před 6 lety +1

      Tomas Kovac The PX do have ambient mode and multipoint Bluetooth connection so they would be excellent for your usage case. The comfort is the biggest doubt. I'd recommend trying the PX out and if they're too uncomfortable, send them back for a refund. The QC35 are also wonderful for calls along with their multipoint Bluetooth and very comfortable fit. However, they don't offer the same level of sound quality that the PX achieves. Being that you want the best sound, definitely give the PX a try. If that doesn't work out, the QC35 is the only best option I can recommend.

      TheGamingAudiophile Thank you so much for all your care. Have you tried Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 (HD1) as a headset. How do they perform comparing to Sony, Bose, B&W? Now they are heavily discounted and many praise them for good sound and call quality...

    • @TheGamingAudiophile
      @TheGamingAudiophile  Před 6 lety +1

      The HD1 or Momentum 2.0 Wireless were very smooth and clean sounding. They were quite focused on the midrange with a steep roll off in the treble. In comparison to the new breed of top noise cancelling headphones, they can still hold their own but they will show their age. ANC wise, the Sony and Bose are superior, but the HD1 still blocks out a good amount of low frequency noise. The PX's ANC on plane mode blocks out a little bit more noise than the HD1, but when the PX is on Office (To preserve its sound quality), it isn't as effective as the HD1, Sony or Bose in blocking out noise. However, as for the sound, the PX is superior to them all with the HD1 playing more in the field of the Sony's and Bose.

    How do you compare both to the pxc550? Build, sound and ANC ?

    • @TheGamingAudiophile
      @TheGamingAudiophile  Před 6 lety

      Ashish Gugnani PXC550 ranks in the middle in terms of ANC effectiveness. Build quality wise the PX is ahead, but the Sony is probably a tad bit better built than the PXC550. Sound... PX is the best with the most resolution and Dynamics. The Sony's come in 2nd besting the PXC550 in soundstage and cleanliness.

    • @Wistbacka
      @Wistbacka Před 6 lety

      TheGamingAudiophile I do not agree at all when it comes to soundstage and cleaniness. Sennheiser beats Sony there. The issue with Sennheiser though, is the lack of "umpf" and over-emphasize on treble; like really alot of treble.
      Sonys, imo, sound too bassy out of the box, but EQed properly they are perhaps a bit more balanced for pop music. If you listen to classic and Jazz, Sennheiser all the way. Vocals also stand out more in Sennheiser. If only the bass was a tad better on the Sennheiser they would be epic.
      I cant compare to the BW, as I have not tried them.

      TheGamingAudiophile thanks for the response, I loved the build and sound of the PX but found them hurting my jaw and head after 15 mins of use. Thought it was one off but happened again. Ended with pxc 550 (only because got them for $250) and I agree while sound is good, px was much better and classier . But comfort was my deal breaker and pxc felt very light thought ear felt warm after some use but not that bad. Wish that was not the case as I really loved the B&W and felt miserable departing with them

      If you're sitting by the engine, the WH-1000Xm2. If not, the PX will block out the residual sound quite well while sounding better.

    Had the PX and own the 1kxm2. No idea what are you talking about in regards to SQ.the PX is like u took a big tin can..emptied it and put on ur head sound. Mid range suffers from this..
    Also you didn't touch on what phone/codec u tested each.
