    These headphones are on top I have these. Great noise cancelling and the touch functionality is extremely useful as you don't have to touch your devices for you to change the tracks volume etc. The clamping pressure is fine for my head.

  • @pperez1224
    @pperez1224 Před 6 lety +2

    I have them on my head right now. To be fair , Noise cancelling should be called ´Noise reduction´ , And its really efficient for the bass sound . Higher frequencies are still audible. Bear in my you cant use it as a noise reduction device because it powers off after 5 minutes if not wired to something.
    That beeing said, i am an advanced guitar and synthesizer player and the sound is awesome. I am using this with my Korg Kronos 2 while working on the sequencer. I would not work a long time with it however because since this headset shields you from the external noise it means all the sound energy hits your hear dream so i feel tired after a few hours while an ordinary headset does not give me this feeling. Well its true also that pumping the volume up is only required when composing music, passive listening should be ok for a longer period

    I just bought these 2 days ago. I live in NYC and I take the train every day. I was very impressed with the noise cancelling on the train and the ambient sound modes when walking around. 2 very minor complaints though. I do wish there was a way to adjust the volume more than 1 level at a time. I wish you could swipe up or down & hold it, and the volume would continue to adjust in that direction. 2nd minor complaint, I do wish that when the headphones automatically switches between ambient modes, it didn't hear that chime. Other than that, they are IMO the perfect pair of bluetooth headphones.

    • @haagenkreutz3698
      @haagenkreutz3698 Před 6 lety +1

      Afaik, you can actually swipe up and hold to increase the volume. I actually tried it.

      because I'm stressed deciding if I should get these or the bose! I'm a video editor so I'd wear them for a few hours every day. I'm just worried that the sony will be uncomfortable, even though the technology should be far superior that the Bose

  • @ValidVikes
    @ValidVikes Před 6 lety +13

    I love these headphones, but I do have a question. Will I get better sound quality if I turn off the noise cancelling when it's not needed? I definitely hear a slight staticky sound when I use noise cancelling with ambient sound on.

    • @magician560
      @magician560 Před 6 lety +5

      Mine sounds the same with and without noise canceling , they’re equally good .
      My original WH-1000XM2 set also has some static sound when NC is turned on or when Ambient mode is so . I went for a repair and Sony gave me a new set . Now my set doesn’t have that problem anymore ... So if you’re hearing some noticeable staticky sound when NC is on you might have a faulty one ... Otherwise , nah , there isn’t any noticeable audio quality difference between NC being on or off .

    I love mine, except for one thing. You can't move much with noise cancelling on. When I walk and my head bounces from the steps, the movement makes the ear pads move, which makes the noise cancelling weird out a little. Very annoying. It also doesn't like strong "Esss" sounds with noise cancelling on.

    Thanks for your video! Just 2 things I'm really worried about before buying them: the reported headband cracks issue of the previous model and the led indicators: I've noticed them flashing continuously. Isn't it disturbing in darkness? For example for a person in a sit next to you in a plane during a night flight or for your spouse sleaping next to you while you have insomnia... If possible, could you make just a small video of those leds in darkness? Thanks!

    It´s like 3 Top ANC headphones out there now, Bose q35ii, 1000xM2 and the B&W Px.
    Got all, Bose for comfort and good ANC...
    Sony in the middle, better sound than Bose and on par with ANC. (Some should call ANC better)
    PX little less ANC but still Ok/good, but the sound you get from the PX is in a league of it´s own.
    So guess it depends if you favors ANC or Sound in first hand..:)
    On a Note for folks that get PX, they need long time burn in..all B&W do..but Px is almost like the p9 take some extra time. If you put them on from Box..they sound flat, but give them some time and they really shine.

      iTzSpicey
      So you listened to both qc35 2 and the h.ear. on 2 for hours?
      With qc35 you can connect to multiple devices. This isn't too important as only a few people use multiple phones or devices (like tablets and phones). Qc35 is much more comfortable too.
      When audio source is aac then streaming to Aac is equal to aptx hd and ldac. Why? Because aac does not degrade on Re-encoding. Even after 100 passes, it stays nearly exactly the same. I can upload the proof if you want. It's only when original source is mp3 that ldac is superior.

    • @itzspicey7173

      Yes and I was so biased to nose in the beginning to the point where I couldn’t listen to people say Sony was better but I like the features more and Audio quality and the app. The bose are a little bit more comfortable tho with more depth. This is my opinion

    • @djoetma
      @djoetma Před 6 lety +1

      This is hard to say. I think it has to do with faulty items, so factory errors. +JimsReviewRoom always does these crazy stress-tests and the 1000X withstood it with no problem. But I also once saw a video of a guy trying his just bought pair in a Sony store and they cracked right there and then. So if you buy a pair, stresstest them immediately or notify the store that you're buying it knowing about this problem and ask them if they would help you out if that problem occurs.

    the sony has alot of features and codex for sound which makes it attractive to the novice..The truth is they and other headphones alike can have such features to enhance sound but what speaker drivers are attached? say like Bang and Olufsen beoplay h4 cost 299 sony 350 , guest who has the better speaker built in and wiring, the beoplay does..

    • @djoetma
      @djoetma Před 6 lety +1

      You're wrong in several ways. The MDR-1000X got great reviews all over, from more consumer grade media to the more audio oriented media. So the implemented drivers can stand their ground quality wise. They only difference they made from the past is that they went from a neutral signature to a more dynamic signature. But this is also what B&O does. B&O has always been more about design and experience. Their ANC isn't as good as Sony's is though.
      Brands that have a more neutral signature are Sennheiser, Bose, Shure and AKG. Bose is a strange duck here, since they are also about design and experience. Also, they tend to save on stuff like driver and dome implementation. But with the QC-series headphones they've been doing really well since the 25-series.

    • @Angel-AbC9
      @Angel-AbC9 Před 6 lety

      JJay13Productionz You are totally wrong about B&O , Sony and mainly bose are not in the same class, just because Sony comes with a bunch of features, and bose sound is so lame it sounds good to the crowd that doesn't know about pure music, that's why you will never see bose in a high-end audio show and to add cars that 80.000 to 280.000 only have high-end audio like I krell,bangs & Knudsen and Bowers and wilkins and other names that's not on consumer level...B&o beoplay line H series are competing with Sony 1000xm2 and Sony 35 and so on, but Sony and bose have high raves mainly because of the noise cancel , I had Sony when 1000x m2 and took it back only because my ears got to warm after a hour of use, but my H4 beoplay sound is soooo much cleaner with detail....Sony bose Jbl beats and more are mid level class, Now go ask any audiophile person and they would agree with me about bangs&olufsen headphones and class

    • @Angel-AbC9
      @Angel-AbC9 Před 6 lety

      L.GH. Djoetma My friend , let me say this about bose since I'm standing on that bose is not in the same breath as b&o , Bose is the standard and in class of there own in noise cancel ,that's it even thought the Sony an 1000x m2, gives it a good fight. But for straight up speaks and components ,no contest. I use to go to the big hifi events and home theater events in NYC held at the Marriott.and so many systems with names never heard of with crazy price tags, well Bangs& olufsen has always been there and no Sony nor bose were never at such events. Bose is a consumer level class that is over price ..The H series for b&o are competing with bose and Sony but only with noise cancellation where bangs won't win...If you look up the crazy luxury price cars and see what audio system the have you will find bangs&olufsen, Bowers and wilkins , krell ,,but never Sony or bose and there's a reason why.....

      You have yo unpair from one device to the next, it doesn't connect to multiple devices, unfortunately only one at a time

      I like the way the Bose QC35 fit me better. If you can try them both on for a bit that would be the best bet.

      I bought the Bose QC35 2. Sound and comfortability was great. Noise canceling isn’t as great as Sony. I returned it for the Sony mx1000 m2

      And how is the comfort on the Sony ? I am have to decide between sony and bose, the only thing holding me back from ordering the sony's right now is the comfort i don't know how they feel

      Jakob Kosir I return my Sony haha. The nose is way more comfortable. I had to sacrifice the Sony cool technology for Bose comfortability. It was a hassle but worth it at the end.

      John L I can second that, I returned my Bose in hopes of the improved sound quality and features, I wore these for a week trying to like them and break them in but everyday I just kept wanting Bose more because how uncomfortable the Sony's were. Bose also sounds very good better than the ldac.
