      BS, type-C you can connect even drunk with closed eyes... that is what I miss most on my 1000x (besides the material strength of the plastic next to the hinges.)

      Seems like a trivial thing to make or brek a potential purchase, as I hear nothing has changed besides some stability upgrades to Bluetooth, the app and NC/AS which has sort of merged into one button, and can be customised via the app. Can't really speak for durability, as I never had that issue (looking after my gear and all), but I don't really see the point if you alredy own the 1000x's.

    • @BRBallin1
      @BRBallin1 Před 6 lety

      It's also possible that switching to USB-C would require a lot of resources with minimal benefits, so they decided to not allocate their budget for that switch. Another theory is USB-C adoption hasn't become mainstream enough to require the change. Only the premium devices are using them so they didn't bother to switch until USB-C completely takes over.

  • @Sompex12
    @Sompex12 Před 7 lety +6

    I am actually very happy, now the 1000x's are cheaper and to be honest for so little changes it's not worth it to upgrade. The audio drivers are the same. And what Sony is trying to do is to sell the same headphones with the ability to have more customization by the app, which will not support older models. Which I am fine with it, but the other products are great. Overall, don't buy these, take the pair from the last yer and be more careful with the band ;)

    Something no reviewer point out is the water resistance of headphones. We pay a lot money for this headphones and it is important to be able to use them even in rainy or snowing days without problem. So am asking myself why nobody talks about this?
    We often put our smartphones in our pokets or bags and eventhought we seem to be interested in their water resistance but why not for headphones that we musst have on top of our heads even in bad wether conditions?

Just checked at a Currys, and the only stores that have them in stock are the 'Dixons Travel' stores that are in the duty free area of airports. Which suggests to me that for whatever reason, they aren't eligible for sale in the UK yet (different territorial rules apply in departure lounges). However I have managed to get my hands on a pair from eBay.

    One of the biggest design problems of the previous model was that you could not use them with just the Noise Cancelling on, unless they were connected to a device. They would power off after 5 minutes. The work-around response of Sony, was to keep it connected to a cable, which was of course non acceptable. Is this issue resolved with the new model ? Can we get a responsible response from Sony about that ?

    • @Philosopheraptor
      @Philosopheraptor Před 7 lety

      Ioannis Baltzakis You can take any headphone cable (since it's 3.5mm), snip the cable and just keep the metal part in your wallet. Whenever you want to maintain the ANC, just plug in the jack you carry in your wallet.

    • @SonyEuro
      @SonyEuro  Před 7 lety

      Hi Ioannis, to use the noise cancelling without playing music, you can use the bundled stereo cable and keep it connected to a playback device such as a mobile phone or an MP3 player without actually playing music. This will prevent the headphones going into Auto Power Mode. ^Nada

      Also, the headphones are the best on their own the customizable options are just bonus, but the headphones do a lot already and don't really offer much aside from EQ and the Ambient noise / noise cancellation, which does a great job without the app. Your phone should have a built-in EQ anyway so who really cares, they're still better than shitty beats.
