And the B&W PX really made me reconsider my thoughts on the Sony 1000XM2. So which are the best Noise Canceling Headphones on the market right now? scott böttcher can u tell me the sound characteristics ? Can I use them without NC ? Do they have open stage ? I use sennheiser momentum in ear wireless and they have the best sound stage that in have heard better than most. But the highs are over bright on higher volume levels but I found a solution I change the silicon tips with memory foam tips and now they sound more natural muffled on highs.

    • @scottbottcher7275
      @scottbottcher7275 Před 6 lety +1

      They are amazing in every way. Battery, quality, comfort and sound. Of course cans are personal, but I love them. I have other Sennheisers, so maybe I'm a fanboy, but with my iPhone(s) and MacBook Pro's (also iPad Pro) I have to say they are great. Only done a couple phone calls - not much of a phone guy - but they worked well. I love these. I also bought an extra pair of ear pads from Sennheiser to keep handy. Not that I will need to replace them, but that's just me. Good luck. Report back!

    With either of these headphones you can easily adjust the profile settings. The decibel ranges should accommodate for that.
    What makes the Sony so attractive is the options that you get out of the app. You can use preset conditions or change the scene to match the song you want.
    You can also control where and how (sound position) you
    Listen to something. Most people don't use that feature though but I use it in case I am in an environment that I would like to speak with someone.
    Manually adjusting the noise cancelling is pretty fun as you may not want to block all the sound

    What's the break in time on the Bowers and wilkins px?

  • @RockG.o.d
    @RockG.o.d Před 6 lety

    I ordered the bowers and Wilkins px, tried them and sent them back because the noise cancellation is on par with a desktop speaker. The sound is the best I have heard from a Bluetooth device, and the review is about right with the sound stage and audio quality. They are almost as good as my wired Audio Technica m50x.
    I ordered the b&w px because i tried the Sony 1000xm2 in a shop, but the sound profile was bad. The bass sounded crap with the anc on, the highs were there but not as clear, the mids were drowned out, they made the music sound crap. With the anc off, they sounded okay, but not as good as b&w px. I mainly listen to 80s / 90s rock / indie. But I am going to order the Sony. Though the sound is only okay. The noise cancellation what i tried in the shop, cancelled out most of the noise, the noise which could be heard were dulled considerably. Including the high sounds, Which is what I am looking for more.

    Something no reviewer point out is the water resistance of headphones. We pay a lot money for this headphones and it is important to be able to use them even in rainy or snowing days withoit problem. So am asking myself why nobody talks about this?
    We often put our smartphones in our pokets or bags and eventhought we seem to be interested in their water resistance but why not for headphones that we musst have on top of our heads even in bad wether conditions?

    • @RockG.o.d
      @RockG.o.d Před 6 lety +2

      If manufacturer doesn’t state water resistant, then consider them not so. You have an option when it’s raining, you can take them off, no ones forcing you to wear them in the rain. If you do want to risk it, then put your hood up.

    +D Jaquith & Co
    30 minutes? Your head must be made of pudding.
    Sweating after 2 songs? Are you a glob of human waste, roasting in the Californian sun?
    Seems I'll have remind everybody that the main priority of buying these products are: NC, in which Sony are superior. Testing sound quality with NC off is mostly pointless, as i would never sit in my quiet home listening to music on a pair of non-lossless headphones. Get real. Thats what we have a hi-fidelity sounds system for.

      Max Fireman
      Bose and Sony are all plastic and vinyl. Vinyl earpads suck! B&W aren't even close in sound quality .. this Reviewer must be tone deaf. To achieve the best sound on the B&W they need a 30 day break-in and I guarantee they're better. For ANC we have both the Sennheiser's HD1 and B&W PX's .. to hear the differences you have to have damn good hearing.
      Keep in mind you're paying close to a $100 just for ANC so if you have no need for noise cancellation then for pure listening then I'd recommend the Sennheiser's HD 660S or similar wired headphones. Bluetooth is not better than wired unless you have some hearing damage (most do) and it doesn't matter or only want the convenience.

      Are you sure???? or u are just guessing? If u are guessing then you should be ashame. I bought the B&W PX and the Sony 1000xm2s for comparison. I love Sony products to tell you the truth. I used both of these headphones on my $1200 Sony Walkman... NW-WM1A. I used LDAC on the Sony and APTx on the B&W PX.. My audio files are mostly FLAC, DSD, and high bit rates MP3s and apple lossless. I also own a wired Sony MDR1A which is excellent!! Guess what, with the PX noice cancelling turn off, the sound is Amazing for a wireless headset! Balanced, clear, sound stage is great and the bass is hard enough and Sufficient enough! It sounded much better than the LDAC M2s! Now, if the NC is turn on, on the PX, the Sony sounded better!. For me, i want a wireless headset with great sound! The sony is going to be returned! So pls test it first before u comment!

    I thought the PX looked the ugliest amongst all these premium headphones on the market , tbh ... The exposed wires and single hinge just puts me off haha , just personal opinion . The best looking for me are still the Momentum 2.0 wireless ( but they’ve got only average ANC so ... ) Well looks are subjective so take my word as a pinch of salt ...
    Had the M2s for a month already , and tried out the PX at a store as well . While the PX sounded just lightly clearer , I much prefer the warm sound of the M2s . And with noise cancelling turned on M2s sounded better .
    Happy with my WH-1000XM2 , better ANC , better sound with ANC turned on ( tbh I don’t really care if PX sounded better with ANC turned off , the main reason to get these are for the ANC right ? So why get a ANC headphone which will deteriorate sound when turned on ... If u’re comparing for best sounding without ANC you should look elsewhere ) , better battery , more features and much better look ( in my opinion ) .
    My M2s felt very sturdy though , the plastic never creaks , and is very smooth . Worth every penny :)

      Kingdongdingdongdang, both are totally different regarding their usage, sound quality and signature almost the same as they both use the exact same driver.
      Px pros: anc and slightly wider sound stage cause of the angulated speaker.
      P7w pros: foldable and comes with a better case.
      Design wise guess that’s a personal variation.
      About the b&o h9i, personally i found them a complete disappointment with that much of distortion on high volumes even with out anc on, but must say they are far more comfortable than b&w, plus b&O customer service are very cooperative and nice unlike b&w.
      If you are still looking try the master&dynamic mw60, they are a bit more expensive but hands down they are the best option right now.

    • @unintentionallyfire
      @unintentionallyfire Před 6 lety

      The H7's aren't noise cancelling (as you know) but the sound isolation are above average. Sounds better than both of these headphones imo. The wired version (H6) is fairly well known as the best portable headphones, and the H7's have the same drivers.

    I don't get it. I had the PX. I couldn't stand the way they sounded. I liked the P7 Wireless (had too much bass and not enough detail but I did like the sound). But the PX sounded like the upper bass was way overemphasized (though its excellent separation meant it didn't overshadow the other frequencies). Sounded like I was listening in a cavern.
    I wanted to like them and they did some things sound wise very well for me but I couldn't deal with the sound signature.
    Maybe my pair was defective. I saw a display model at Best Buy but the volume was broke and pumped to hideous distortion. I don't want to drop another $400 along with time and effort just to find out it wasn't a bad pair.
    Too bad as great build quality and apparently audiophile sound. I just didn't hear it.

    • @Eleventhearlofmars
      @Eleventhearlofmars Před 6 lety

      Chris Pineo I agree about The P7 wireless, pity the px didn’t sound as good or didn’t go anywhere near as loud as P7s. I sent px back and got a set of B&O H9is and I like them very much, I listen to rock and pop on the P7s and acoustic and classical music on H9i but they’re great all round for all genres really, The P7s are killer for music with Taurus bass pedals in because it feels like it would at a gig lol.

    Bot great headphones...:)
    Have most all B&W out there and they always need some "break in", for sound standard over night playing..but I always put them at the same time over a larger box so I stretch it out (more than my head can) and after some nights they get better..:) Still they do sit tighter/harder than some others tho...

    • @GYMCADDY

    Sony sounds better than px objectively. Flat frequency audio spectrum is what the music the way the artists intended, px have v shape sound which adds abit of coloration especially slightly elevated bass. Both headphones have sparkling upper treble, but sony have better extension yet not reach ear piercing level. Px have abit laid back mids so vocals, piano, acoustic guitar will sounds abit behind in the music. Px are good for edm,rocks,club,hip hop, pop etc. Sony are better all rounders, turn on ambient sound "normal" and listen in a quiet room, it's sounds as the way artists intended. Px is for normal consumers but not audiophile due to it had fun factors sound signature. Both have abit warm sound signature, with sony have a slightly more revealing sounds than px

    At the end of the day, the Sony's are plastic and vinyl that you can't wait but to get off your head after 30 plus minutes. B&W are the audiophiles speakers of choice over the past several decades. In this case it's not even close, get the B&W PX's. We have both the Sennheiser's HD1 and B&W PX's .. they're both best in class. The Bose are also plastic and vinyl and are only slightly better than the Sony's for ANC.
    On any of them there should be both leather and cloth options for earpads. While I get cloth doesn't isolate quite as good OMG they breathe so damn much better! 😎

      I'm an audiophile, both the B&W's and Sennheiser's are part of _tools_ we use, and BTW the cost of the B&W PX / Sennheiser HD1 are about the same of the lower fidelity and lower quality plastic & vinyl Bose QC35 II and Sony 1000XM2.

    With headphones the charge port type doesn't matter, I hate to hear reviewers bitch a out this. The micro USB ports give me something to use all the old chargers I have. With usb c being about data transfer speeds and charge speeds, it just doesn't matter with headphones

      J Black It's not about the technical advantages of USB-C, it's about the convenience of charging everything with only one cable. With most electronics moving to Type C, it's frustrating to have to carry around an extra cable for an old port
