Sunfyre is pure awesomeness,the only dragon with an actual arc and he will be the only dragon alone, riderless on the show who will have scenes of his journey.
The fact he managed to survive the Dance and all those battles in such difficult situation and coming back at his rider throught sheer tenacity,sacrifice and loyalty.

Also I'd say vermithor and silverwing definitely have an arc. A love story arc but still an arc. To some extent vhagar too (over the course of her whole life not just the dance).
@@mappingshaman5280 Silverwing was all alone bc she was a coward, she abandoned Vermithor alone on the battle practically saying "Sorry Vermi,big flames are scary uwu". Vermi is cool,one of my favourites, that's why I don't forgive Silvermid abandoning him.
Even if i love Vermithor, i admit he hadn't a arc on terms of writing. It just stated they mated together. To having an arc the character has to evolve and change through the story with their own choices.
Sunfyre's arc of being a small dragon who never really fought only known for being the most beautiful to a mangled, crippled, deformed mess that somehow starts a journey alone by own choice to help Aegon, slayed dragons and conquers Dragonstone and stomps out of a Black faction's in the process, ultimately becoming on one of the best fighter of any dragon we see and ending up with the largest kill count along Vhagar is meant to mirror Aegon's own ascent. Him putting up with all the pain and suffering until Aegon assured his Throne turn him into a real character.

@@thisguy8106 Aegon is my favorite character but did we read the same book? He was just as bad of a father to his kids as Viserys was to him.
He loved his family in general I guess (he very clearly loves him mother in the show and it suggests in the book he loves his brothers) given he usurps the throne because he believes Rhaenyra would kill his family if he didn't, but he doesn't interact with his children even once. I think he loved his children probably but he had no BOND with them.
His bond with Sunfyre was something else though.

His Bond with SunFyre is in my opinion the best bond between rider and dragon Sunfyre flew to Aegon on a broken wing and Aegon Wept upon the death of his Beautiful Dragon

His response to a rejected girl telling him "NO GUTS LOL" is to go and ruin any hope of negotiation to the point his Mom and Grandpa want to slam their heads into the wall from frustration.
He ends up smooshing his bro and his dragon with Vhagar by accident during the Rook's Rest ambush, in what should've been a easy victory for Team Green
Proceeds to around in King's Landing and murdering things with Criston every so often, does literally nothing to help Daeron and the Hightower host coming up to support the Greens.
Manages to LOSE THE CAPITAL and if not for Larys smuggling out Aegon would've cost the Greens the war.
Copes and seethes at being outsmarted so much he decides to teamkill House Strong, TEAM GREEN's House for no better reason than them being relatives of Valeryon bois, possibly getting Aegon poisoned down the line.
Instead of targeting enemy fortresses, decides to spend his time lazying around making extra crispy Riverlander small folk and sleeping with a milf.
Abandons Criston, one of the Green's main commanders along with his men to die because ????

That point about Aegon watching children fight in pits tge day they found him was made by Mushroom, who was at Dragonstone at the time. So its very untrustworthy source. This is not to say Aegon probably didn't go to fighting pit, its just its ambiguous in the text if thats where he was at the time.

I always like the theory that is was Mushroom who finally murdered Aegon II.
It was at then end of the Dance, when Aegon II had re-taken King's Landing, and held young Aegon III as his prisoner. With the Tully's having defeated his last army of the Stormlanders, and Stark an the North marching on King's Landing, Aegon II planned to use young Aegon III as a threat - to either kill him or chop bits off if the Black Armies did not halt their march.
And just then he is found dead in his sedan chair, poisoned by a cup of wine. This allows King's Landing to surrender peacefully, and the war to end with little violence.
But who gave Aegon the poisoned? Though many benefited from his death, and Lord Stark executed several leading Greens and other suspected of having a hand in this, no one actually confessed, and the true culprit was never proven.
But Mushroom was in King's Landing at the time, the fool and part of the royal court he has the opportunity and access to the king.
Also he had the motive, as in the Dance he spend more time with the Blacks and seemed more sympathetic to their faction than to the Greens. He might have been motivated to kill King Aegon to save Aegon III, last son of Queen Rhaenyra.
He also gave a strange account of his movements during the time; claiming how to avoid being killed in the fall of King's Landing he had hidden in a flower barrel, only to later pop out covered in white flower and scare a servant girl. A rather odd tale - it was the high lords and knights who were in danger of death when Stark and Winter came to KL, but no one would bother kill a fool. This sounds like a 'silly Mushroom the Fool' story, made up to account for his actions, but in fact a cover story to hide his guilt.
But most of all is the earlier exchange between Mushroom and Queen Rhaenyra when they watch the mob storm the Dragon Pit, and the Queen dismisses the danger to the dragons.
'They are vermin. Drunks and fools and gutter rats. One taste of dragonflame and they will run.'
But the fool warns her:
'A thousand rats can bring down a bear, I have seen it. Drunks they are, but the drunken man knows no fear. Fools, aye, but a fool can kill a king.'

Their bond is very underrated. People talk about Rhaenys, Daemon, Aemond, and all that constantly in regards to Dragon Riders.
But regardless, Aegon II wasn't a slouch for a dragon rider, and overall, I feel the showrunners lost the opportunity the books presented at the Coronation. Aegon II was said to have flew Sunfyre around King's Landing multiple times after being crowned. Instead, they added in Rhaenys and Meleys, in a scene that wasn't the best
I want to see Sunfyre and Aegons relationship as well, but we both know without Vhagar and Aemond, the Greens wouldn't have lasted a week. Dreamfyre was a powerful as well, but Heleana was next to useless as a rider. If Dreamfyre was in the Dance, it could have turned the tides.
I feel like they were afraid to go deep in that path since his bond with Sunfyre was described as extraordinary, even amongst the entire history of his house. The showrunners must've thought his love for his dragon/companion would make Aegon way too easy to sympathize with, while they just wanted to present him as nothing more than a villanous brat.
Aegon II has been done right in the show so far but I really hated how they had Rhaenys interrupt his coronation, seriously isn't he allowed to have at least one dignified movement in his life.
YESS and Sunguer should be there and Coronation of Helaena by Alicent and the part they gave Daemon she kneels and call Helaena my Queen

@@Rifi77they are both claimants have very serious character flaws. But the peso and rapist parts of Aegon’s character are directly from the source material. Embellished and expanded on in the show but so are most character traits. Aegon gets a few more dignified scenes throughout his life. “6 Bites and one for the Stranger” comes to mind.

And when he does fight he only survives cuz his brother shows up with the current biggest dragon lol and saves him even tho he was already have brunt alive

Aemond would've died had Aegon not fought alongside him because Meleys was faster than Vhagar and Rhaenys' was a more experienced rider. Aegon overcame his addiction to milk of the poppy and retook KL from the Shepard and his followers.

if Rhaenyra had the brains not to have bastards with Harwyn it would be much MUCH harder for the Greens to challenge her claim. She could've had bastards with Daemon or any of the Celtigars and they could've easily passed up as Laenor's. Her succession was complicated as it was yet she stupidly weakened her own claim by birthing the Strong boys.
Really wish the show had scenes of Aegon II bonding with Sunfyer as well as Heleana bonding with Dreamfyre & Leana bonding with Vhagar! So many missed opportunities hopefully we get flashbacks
I think in season 2 we will see the bond between Aegon and sunfire, the battle between them and vaghar /Aemond vs Rahenys /Meleys seems to be the last one of season 2 so we will probably have scenes between both and developing their bond before the battle

not a fan how the show drank the mushroom koolaid with aegon and even exaggarated that except in one aspect
Secondly.. the way he's portrayed in the show.. he would have just flew away all the time to party and sex etc in essos and other places, why would he just stay in kings landing when it's known brothels are better in essos. Made no sense how he just hides under a table and never goes off on advanetures

They should have given Sunfyre more screen time is season 1. It was the most beautiful dragon that ever was but in the end, it was a mangled horror. A perfect symbol of what the Dance of the Dragons did to the Targaryen's.

It's sad that your video is biased and you're only using Mushroom's version of the story, Mushroom who was not in King's Landing and was a supporter of Rhaenyra, so his testimony is completely wrong
And I guarantee you he won't bring up brothel queens if he makes a Rhaenyra video. Not that I buy that either but it's extremely disingenuous to bring up the Mushroom rumor as fact.

Aegon children were killed, one by order of Rhaenyra's husband, other by huge bounties Rhaenyra placed on them, Maelors head was brought to her and she laughed about it, she also executed Aegon's grandfather Ser Otto and was planning to stop the war only after she claims heads of Aegon, Aemond, Daeron . Haelaena died in her care also, either from suicide by being abused or directly murdered.
Stannis himself calls her death not cruelty but law, even despite "she was daughter of one King and mother of two Kings, yet she died a traitors death for trying to usurp her brother's throne."

This video is well made but really biased, you're being pretty disingenuous bringing up Mushroom rumors as fact without mentioning where these rumors are coming from. The fandom (correctly) doesn't buy the brothel queens story or most Mushroom rumors, so why are you putting stock into what Mushroom who hadn't been to King's Landing in over a decade thought Aegon was doing in the city?

Civil war was not inevitable….it was pushed because they starters to divert from their heritage and the Hightowers culture was not something that worked well with their own. They should have only married lesser houses that could not power grab so easily. They become so pressed by the culture they could just as easily change by force. Viserys should have taken no wife…replaced Otto with Rhaenyra who seems to tame Daemon who would remain captain of the city watch….
Even in the current cannon what stands out is that no one asked Rhaenyra what she would do to or for her siblings…perhaps they alternate lineage and when one is king the other is hand…only blood should rule. If they really thought she would kill the children why did she never seem pressed about anything to do with them? It was purely Westeros mind bullshit that led to that whole thing being a concept. The bastard on the throne issue is also a stretch as people coincidentally and conveniently forget prominent historical events and no one cares about the kings background when the king is strong…it works if Aegon is skipped and made hand to Rhaenyra since he doesn’t want to rule and for amends for his eye Aemond rules next with one of Rhaenyra’s boys as hand and one going to driftmark…. Logic prevents the war Ultimate but the Citadel clearly did some of their finest work lol

That's only because Rhaenyra's sons barely count as Targaryens and Daemon's daughters are basically just extras at this point. Aegon with his 8 minutes of screen time had already more depth than all of them

Rhaenerya’s sons are not base born. The Strong-Targaryens are bastard born, they are noble on both sides. Source: GRRM, when Egg refers to Lord Bloodraven as, “Bastard born.” Ser Duncan the Tall corrects him, “Not base born, he’s bastard born.” Or he was. “He is noble on both sides.”
