Really any online game , I’m a single player person , multi-player games I can do it’s just something about online 🤷🏽♀️
Probably because you're a woman and get harassed constantly 😂
100% agree I love campaign games and I’ve never been a fan of online gaming that much either, the only exception I make is coop
Kaitlyn Harris I like them 🅱️UT yea not nearly ass good
@@OwynDavies Men or women, multiplayer is annoying af
Kaitlyn Harris online multiplayer games are the bane of my existence, I’m sorry (not sorry) but it’s just a bunch of wank I cba with lmao
Lad really got stressed out over animal crossing lmao 😭😭😭
Thunder 9501 Goddamn it, it’s Animal Crossing what’s so stressful about it 😂😂
Choosing where to place things, and spending your money right can be kinda stressful.
Julia Grabiec True
I completely agree with his assessment of the sims. It's basically just babysitting.
Ryan Witherow I'm in agreement about The Sims I just can't understand the appeal of a simulated life . Games are supposed to be an escape from reality for a few hours .
It is and yet I find it so addictive 🤣🤣
I used to be addicted to Sims 3 a while back.
To be fair, they do have expansion packs that allow you to be vampires amd wizards, so you can make the sims more than just babysitting
Sims can only be fun when you murder and torture everyone. If you play it normally it sucks.

30 minute games where you know if you're going to lose by minute 10-15 a lot of the time. And you get abuse if you don't play they way people want you to play.
I'd have to say my game is minecraft. I appreciate how the game has impacted the industry. I've given it a chance multiple times, but I can't get into it
It's really time consuming. I keep telling myself in doing it 100% survival mode and won't switch to creative to build things faster but after 2 hours of building something I remember I'm an adult and don't have time for all of this. My dad plays a lot too and he agrees.
the fun of minecraft for me comes from playing online/with friends.
@@xpyre9236 yeah I lose motivation alone.
Minecraft is definitely a game for you to play with friends. It has singleplayer but it's really not made for that. You kinda learn to love very specific servers and the ganemodes in those servers and basically not play minecraft anymore. When people think of minecraft what usually comes for mind is building or fighting skeletons or mining diamonds when in reality you can also play pictionary or basketball or cast spells. I can understand someone saying they hate how minecraft feels because it is the same across all servers and modes but I will never understand someone if they say they cannot get into it because they've only.played singleplayer for an hour or played a hunger games match for 5 minutes and didnt enjoy the most popular parts.
@@plastiqbeach7487 i like playing Minecraft alone
Why is this filmed like an intervention
Cause it is :D
Cause it fucking is haha
Minecraft. Someone told me it's my fault because it's limited only by your imagination. The thing is, I imagine curves all the time.
i agree but only partially. my experience with minecraft is having more fun in PVP than singleplayer. it was so boring slogging through to kill the ender dragon and wither to have basically nothing to do afterwards. if minecraft added more content to grind towards on the PvE side, id play singleplayer. but modding exists so thats great.
Lmao
Owen Polley I’d say that’s pretty limited
I played it for the building and playing with a friend makes it a hundred times more fun.
Lmao “u just go away and come back 5hrs later. Ur just trapped in this hellscape” 😂😂😂
Just like rl
As a massive animal crossing fan Jules’ description of Tom Nook had me laughing my ass off! It’s pretty accurate but I still love playing it and fucking around with the other townsfolk
5:30 so basically to you, the Sims represents the repetitive and futile nature of real life. Fair.
I feel like you either love animal crossing or don’t understand it at all.
I love it so much it holds a special place in my heart :)
As sure curiosity; what does Animal Crossing give that is so heart worthy?
I'll ask myself the same watching a horse gallop in AC or RD2, though where is that connection for you?
Lewis This. “If you don’t like this game then you’re wrong!!!”
Or maybe we understand it and still think it sucks
David O'Hara I find it therapeutic, I have fond memories with the game from childhood. It’s strange but it gives me such a calm feeling when I play. I’ve found myself feeling more motivated and positive recently just thinking about it coming soon. The only other game that has my unconditional love is probably bioshock , for very different reasons tho.
I really enjoy animal crossing but the problem is that it gets really repetitive and really boring fast due to the real time aspect. You basically can play the game for a few hours or a couple days but then only play it again every few months or so.
Fortnight...I don’t understand why it is so popular. I hated it. I had fun with PUBG for about a month and got bored.
There was study about how Fortnite became so popular and left PUBG in the dust when it comes to Battle Royales that concluded that it was basically the smaller map and somewhat more cartoony style with the bright colors that hooked people. I don't get it either, but I don't get how BR's are popular at all.
The thing that got me into Fortnite over PUBG when it came out was it just ran way better then PUBG. At least in my opinion. Haven't played it in over a year, but I liked it a lot when it first came out.
Fortnite is for your ex who is a fuc*ing bi*ch
The fact that it's free and on every device
Ya I hate fortnite with a passion. Lol
OMG Ewan! Horizon Zero Dawn is so amazing, beautifully, and perfectly challenging when it comes to sneaking around certain robot creatures
No cap
Literally my fav ps4 game like cmon
I could never get into horizon either, part of it is the female protagonist but I enjoyed tomb raider (maybe bc she is attractive) whatever it was I tried multiple times with horizon and everytime it dragged for me
Vaden moronic comment

Animal Crossing = Student Loan: The Game
Unrealistic Student Loan: Zero Interest
Except you can just pay it back whenever you feel like it, there's no interest, and you make the money to pay it back by doing things like selling fossils, fruit, and fish.
But yet its fun lol
The witcher 3...... I've tried 4 times to get into it and I can't. Idk why I just can't
I am the same way but I know why I cant get into it. Its just has to much story that I really don't care about. Idk why I care about all the things in other games but the Witcher 3.
It’s the same for me. Everything about it seems like it should make it a game that I would love, it I’ve struggled to get into it.
Same. For me it was the controls. They're too. damn. slooooooooooooooooow. An animated semi-cutscene of 3 whole seconds just to turn around? Yea, no thanks. I'm not playing on a console where you have to phsyically move a stick to turn around, give me proper snappy controls.
@@Aquila_Sol why lie idgi
Same here. I love RPGs, couldn't finish Witcher 2 after my mate was saying how amazing it was. Tried 3 when it was released and again I got several hours in and got bored... Yet can sink hours into fallout 3/mass effect/final fantasy etc. Doesn't grip me.
Dark Souls. I get it, and it is great. But I can't get into it
Git gud lol
Remnant from the ashes is actually enjoyable. Somewhat similar
I want to like dark souls but I hate it.And don’t have enough time to get good.
@@frankf684 exactly. I like a challenge, but I need a quick challenge or it cuts into family and other hobby times.
@@collinownbey3326 thanks ill go do a bump of blow instead and move the fck on with my day instead of boiling my blood for hours.
Skyrim: Kept boring me and I kept giving it a new shot.. When they made me walk during 15 minutes to the other side of the map to enter a mission, and the mission was walking through a cave during 20 more minutes I had enough..
Skyrim kept crashing on me, I tried and tried and tried to keep playing, restarting each time. Play for a few hours, and then the crash would happen. I would try different things to avoid the crash. I just said screw this, and never picked it up again.
Same lol
The thing about Skyrim is you just kinda have to do your own thing and mess around and create your own fantasy game
Get a horse
Skyrim has mod do don’t get berod
Jules: "I'm not gonna play it on the switch bc I don't have one"
Me: *didn't buy a switch when it came out bc I knew when they announced a new AC game they'd bring out a themed switch which I preordered months ago and am literally counting down the days until I can hold it in my grubby hands*
🌼🌸🌱🌿🌾🌻🍃🌺
For my whole life AC has meant Assasins Creed and I'm just so happy those times are over.
High Deaf Radio lol I thought he/she was talking about Assassins Creed at first
Did it come in?
Gaming genres are a lot like musical genres in that you may dislike the whole vibe of the genre but occasionally there will generally be some game within the genre that you can really get into.
May I just say, these Friday episodes are fantastic. Keep it up!!!
Couldn't get into Zelda, Gears of War, and yes, The Witcher series. But it's okay, we each have our preferences.
Donald Frederick everyone is different. I myself can’t stand FPS and online multiplayer games because I find them both boring and completely uninspired.
I can't get into the Zelda games. I do love GoW games though
Really GOW? I love that game still one of my favorite games
The witcher was a really slow burner. It's got lots of dumb bugs as well that people don't seem to talk about. However it is an amazing game once things really start to get going.
I was right with you on all of those, except now I like the Witcher- well Withcer 3 at least. It takes perseverence though, as the opeing is really boring. I'd suggest lowering the difficulty on it since the gameplay isn't its strength, it's the quantity and quality of quests. But Zelda just seems tedious to me and it has the most uninteresting protagonist possible. Gears feels like every bad video game stereotype mashed into one huge cringefest.
Borderlands. Wanted to get into it and enjoy it, but I just couldn't.
I know, right?! People look at me like I'm a mutant, but then I try again and it's like... well, this is a boring grind. Gonna do something more fun now, thanks.
@@proudpapaprick lol. Play it like a noob like me. Just get some guns and shoot some peeps
Trust
Have to agree except from Eden 6 during 3
Thank god someone with my opinion
I just replayed Spyro a few weeks ago. Rich and I would not be friends.
Dark Souls for me, tried several times with the first one but it just never clicked, on paper it's right up my street but nope
Aidan Half-Troll it might be worth trying DS 3 or bloodborne, it took playing them two for me to get into it and now it’s one of my favourite games of all time
Aidan Half-Troll Yea Play DS3 And 🅱️LOOD🅱️ORNE
It took four-ish years and two games to really get into Dark Souls. I first played Demon's Souls, got kind of far, got too frustrated, never did really get into the style, and quit. Then I played Dark Souls, beat Ornstein and Smough, got to the Tomb of the Giants, and then I rage quit. It wasn't until Bloodborne caught my interest with its Gothic Horror and Lovecraftian tone that I finally gave it another try two years later, and then it _finally_ clicked. I finally got it when I stopped trying to play it "my way" and instead adjusted my play style to the task at hand until I found what worked. I found it way more fun when I was more flexible, and learned the skills I needed that eventually led to me beating every game in the franchise (except Sekiro, haven't gotten to that one yet).
I'm not saying that you need to play the first one again until it clicks or that you're doing it wrong, but that sometimes coming at it from a different angle can help it click. Even if you never go back to Dark Souls 1, I would echo the other commenters in suggesting you give Bloodborne a try; it's so amazingly good, and while it's not _easier_ than Dark Souls, it is more streamlined and more energetic, so it's a lot easier to jump into, in my opinion.
Cheers for the comments guys, bloodborne is out I'm afraid as I'm on Xbox but I'll take a look in the exchange shops and see if I can pick up DS3 for cheap. Like I said in the OP, I WANT to like it so as you say, maybe the later game is the way to go!
Play DS3. I'm getting the same issue with DS1 and DS3 has much better and refined gameplay.
I totally understand where the open world guy was coming from, that's how I've missed breath of the wild. I know it's a fantastic game and I appreciate it but I just can't bring myself to keep playing after such an open world game fatigue
I promise you that breath of the wild cures the fatigue, but I understand. I actually only played through the first boss and then didn’t come back to the game for more than a year, and then beat it
Wow. God of War “grindy”!?!
yeah “grindy” isn’t how i’d describe god of war
J Phillips at least those 3 god of war was kill epic but I still love god of war
It wasn't grindy
God of war one of all time favorites but I agreed with him about horizon
God of war 2018 was pretty grindy
imagine waking up everyday and having scotts take on anything... 🌚
I like the art style however i have to say boarderlands for me. I like the look of them but just can't do it.
Sorry
Same here. They're rated M for mature, but the humor felt like it was aimed at middle-schoolers.
I've actually played a decent amount of Borderlands 2, and while I quite like the game, what is putting me off, is that it seems like you have to play a certain type of way to get the most out of it in terms of loot, sidequests, missions
I also find it quite boring
U missed out
Yeah I could never get into it. Part of it is that I always felt so disconnected. I could never get immersed into it at all. I did quite like the telltale game though.
"Milked at the content factory."
You could always unionise?
The Witcher 3. The combat system felt like the love child between assassins creed and a joystick from the early days at the laundromat.
I tried 3 times to get into it. The 3rd time I broke through and now I really love it. Mechanically it isn't good, but the quality and quantity of varied interesting quests is really what makes everyone rave about it.
@@mikesannitti6042 I'm glad someone can be objective about it. Thank you for the insight
@ Mike Sannitti it's the frying pan quest that sold it for me ;D
I love love love The Witcher 3 but after playing I tried to get into the first two games, and I couldn’t stand them.
I tried 5 times to get into the game and I can’t
Aw geez Horizon changed my life :(( but I was working on a school project about habitable planets and the way the world of Horizon was presented let me imagine far into the future of the human race and it was amazing. I can understand why peeps wouldn't like it lol.
I found myself irrationally triggered when he said Half-Life. It was as if he'd said something ludicrous like "Bananas taste exactly like tangerines." A malfunction came over me because every word after that was unheard as I tried to process the idea of not getting into Half-Life.
I know it's such a good franchise
I agree with him, although I'd say I enjoyed it more. I just found it like an old tech demo, but I appreciate the shooting and sometimes goofy physics
David Riley The pacing and physics are great but he’s absolutely right about the games feeling tech demo-y and the combat not feeling like they have any weight
Mortal Kombat was that essential game for me. I guess I liked my quarter-circle fighters more.
I think "(Scot noise)" is my favourite subtitle ever.
Honestly, Tom Nook's setup with homeownership is better than any in real life. No credit checks, no rush to pay, no interest, no repossession, no natural disasters/'acts of god', and you can literally pay it off by collecting bugs and seashells. I wish homeownership was so simple.
I completely agree with Jules and Josh. I can’t get into simulation games either. Too boring lol
Goat simulator was the only one that i enjoyed
Thats what im saying. The only stimulator i got into was flight simulator and that was just so a could attempt flips with cargo planes
What's the point of doing something you can easily do in real life, but as a computer game
@@CaliZephyr I completely disagree, very few people can make your own park, fly an actual plane or even being abducted and having a baby alien...hahahaha
I like sim games, but I coudnt get Animal Crossing too, I think it is too slow paced, the idea is that it is an "idle game", which you play in very small doses, but even playing for a long time like this nothing cool happened to me besides collecting bugs
I really recommend playing The Sims with mods, the console versions are more action oriented than point-and-click but the lack of many features and mods really hinder the experience.
I won Goat Simulator for free in some Microsoft event and hated it not because I thought it was a sim, but because I knew before what it was about. Goat Simulator is funny if you dont know anything about the game and see the game crumble as you go on, if you know what it is the joke is thrown out the window.
I seriously cannot understand the hype around Animal Crossing. I agree with Jules completely on that.
Brian Cannon I just enjoy it because I can fish all day and build my aquarium
its a woman thing lol
Sneaky not even a woman thing, the value in the game is more intrinsic than extrinsic, some people prefer that
@@TWlaz came from my wifes mouth, not mine 💁
In terms of modern gaming, I feel it is unique in that it has a complete lack of intensity
As I'm trying to clean up my game backlog and focus my efforts into stuff that actually entertains rather than "good games" or "stuff I want to / should like", I'm discovering that as much as I love the concept of simulation / maintenance games (The Sims, Oxygen Not Included, Stardew Valley, etc.) I can't really "enjoy" them. I either face what Josh talks about where I realize I'm cleaning house in a game when I could be cleaning my actual house or my obsessive detail-oriented, perfectionism takes over where I can't enjoy the trial and error and fun mishaps of the game that come with a learning curve and just trying things out.
Simulation games are my favoriteeeee. Sims, Tamagotchis, Animal Crossing. I really just can't get enough
When he started talking about GOW..that exact same moment when the game opened up and became open world in a way, everything he said is how i felt..i love GOW but that new one just doesnt fit for too much
Khidd Herbo I just played it in a linear fashion later on. Makes sense for the story anyhow and you can finish the rest later on if you really want to. The enemies scale so don‘t focus on gear too much.
@@picklebee5299 true
Maybe I'll try it again
For me it’s probably legend of Zelda breath of the wild sence i loved the series for the story and I just could not get into it and open worlds stress me out lol
I loved breath of the wild. But open world games aren’t for everyone and that’s ok! I got overwhelmed with Skyrim and had too many side quests that I didn’t want to complete.
LOVE Zelda games. Beat Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, currently working on Breath of the Wild. But, for some reason, could never get into Wind Waker. Tried several times. It just doesn't suck me in the way the other games do. Never gotten very far at all.
Honestly, I can relate to the Animal Crossing guy. I tried City Folk and it did not go well. I felt like there wasn't much to do aside from make pennies on tree fruits. I was totally indifferent to decorating your home because I just felt that the decorative items didn't look very good because of the artstyle. It never felt like I was making my house look better, it just felt like I was making it look less ugly. I think I played for 2 days and never picked it back up.
Despite all that, I am actually enjoying New Horizons a lot more after giving it a shot. The beginning of the game is much more focused, if pretty slow, and gave better direction while getting the hang of things. Granted, I did wind up time skipping a few days because it was progressing too slowly for my tastes, but that is just me wanting more to chew on. My decor indifference has taken a complete 180 in New Horizons. The graphical fidelity of decorative items has gotten so good that most items look like actual real life things and can create genuinely gorgeous displays of design.
Devil May Cry for me
Cool characters and visually stunning but I just can't fall in love with it.
I bought the collection Only finished 1... Heard 2 was terrible... Skipped it cause it was. But could not get into 3. Like at all
I've played and finished 3 Metal Gears: Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater, & Guns of the Patriots (or w/e it was called), but couldn't tell ya what any of the games were about and have no interest in playing them again or any other MG...ever.
Purple Waves damn
Your not alone I just can't get into MG at all
It wasnt until Awakening when I finally got hook into FE.
And now I'm addicted to 3H, over 300 hours in so far.
sakon10 gang gang for me it’s nostalgia I grew up w my dad and brother playing radiant dawn at like 3am it was my first fe game😌
The wave of nostalgia that hit me when he mentioned Monsters Inc. Scare Island...
I'm opening up the shop, got the headphones in, listening to this amazing damn content, then I feel Julien physically punch me in the balls with that opening bit.
Mine is the witcher 3. I've tried playing it on every platform imaginable and I just can't get into it.
Yeah, good story bad gameplay 😐
Nd the gameplay.. God the gameplay.. I don't know if I'm just hell of a noob but I can't get a hold of the combat. I'm horrible at it. Come at me.
I just can't get into any of it and I feel really weird with everyone saying it's amazing
Kenny Miller sabe with me
Lol I play Animal Crossing for the creativity aspect of being able to design ur town and house and stuff. Also because it’s a collectathon and I like getting the rare stuff that you know other players won’t have. And it’s a very good game if u like to keep things organized. You’re constantly fixing things and rearranging and basically cleaning lol yeah it’s definitely not for everyone but I personally love the “chase” I guess to try to make everything as perfect as you can make it. And if anything isn’t what u want it to be, well then u can change it. That’s what I like about it anyway
For me it's the Witcher 3. I just can't get into it. I forced my way through the first area/region, and I was bored to tears. It just doesn't click with me whatsoever.
Bruh same, I really wanted to like this game I even forced myself through like 95% of the story but I still didn't feel it
I do understand what you mean. I was beginning to feel that way during the first region. It just dragged and was worried the whole game would be the same. Fortunately, for me at least, as soon as I left that first region the game picked up pace and it became one of my favourite games in the end. Think the first region is supposed to be one massive, elongated tutorial 😩

Julian: Listen, man!
Bob Marley: Listen, man!
Arnold Schwarzenegger: Listen, man!
Gears of War. I've played through 1-3, and a bit of 4, but I've always found myself fighting with the controls. It never felt smooth to me, so I've never been a big fan like a lot of people are.
I’m glad everyone was able to enjoy Knack 2. It’s the quintessential game on the PS4.
Im gonna have to go ahead and admit that I felt the same way as Scott did when I first wrapped my head around Half Life 2, I just didnt find it mindblowing or anything. I definitely do realize that I hopped on to the game a bit late playing it first on the 360, definitely has something to do with it.
GTA. Really enjoyed the first one as a kid but played the most recent one just to experience it and wasn't into it. I understand why people love it, it's just not for me
Well, V sucks, story wise
Marcus Hough oof that’s a shame

Yuuuup
Cause he's like the biggest Sony fanboy there is literally no point asking his opinion on anything else.
2:10 I new within seconds that he was talking about metal gear solid. I've played through them all except for 5 and I can relate.
i just pre-ordered the italian job, cant wait to try it out.
Its like a "coming out" video !
“I was fine playing Monster’s Inc Scare Island”
WHY????
witchywoman2008 he had a terrible childhood
I loved that game as a kid hahaha
I couldn’t agree more with Jules, I always somehow get angry at animal crossing “the most relaxed game ever”
I was crap at half life 2 as well. I could never even get out of that space station bit. I just couldn't find anywhere to go next. I think it was one of the first FPS games I played though TBF (I played golden eye and turok on the n64, and then halflife 2 on ps2 for like an hour)
Metal gear 💯it’s so much lore and backstory to kno in order to play it
I knew the second guy was going to say metal gear solid 😂... my favorite franchise of all time!
I know right? He was describing perfectly mgs before saying the name
I fondly remember my brother and I first playing the Sims together on the Gamecube. Our toons shared a house together(both males), adopted a child and bought and placed a BBQ inside our living room. Long story short, my toon was bullied into crying everyday by both of them(to the point that every activity i wanted my toon to do ended up with him crying in the bathrrom) and he eventually died when the living room BBQ malfunctioned and burnt the room down with me in it. My bro and our "daughter"?? were both in the pool while it happened.....I stopped playing afterwards.
Ewan hit the nail on the head! Felt the same way about both Horizon and GoW!
How was it silent when Ewan said God of War but everyone lost their minds when Jules said Animal Crossing? It should of been the other way around.
Unless the silence was utter horror
Beta males
probably because god of war is a bit poo
"Go out there and do something" I go out, nothing to do there. Maybe it's just bc im broke.
It’s hard to believe Ewan couldn’t get into BOTH GoW of War and HZD. I also totally understand the the open world game fatigue. I myself felt that way with Witcher 3, but now that I’m almost done with the books, I’m really looking forward to trying it again
I can relate to the guy saying the open world stuff... you play breath of the wild, you play horizon, you play skyrim, playing dark souls, playing red dead, and next thing you know you're just burnt out by the time you play shadow of colossus.
Mine are all the games from: The elder scrolls, Fallout, Bioshock & The witcher.
Kenneth Gubbels I cant get into Fallout at all.
@@frankf684 no me neither, the rpg's from Bethesda are so damn slow passed. I can respect them for what they are, but i just cant seem to enjoy them.
I couldn't get into Horizon either but God Of War was a fantastic game.
You probably need some Testosterone to get into GoW, so...well, understandable.
Gow was fun but couldn't get into it, never had any interest in horizon
Kegan Gowen No I like it but it’s just bland. The end boss shouldn’t of been a death bringer it should of been the tentacle thing. The human fighting was boring.
I’m really Anti SJW and watch that type of you tube content, the only criticism I’ve seen is with the Black woman whose first word is “I’m a lesbian”. Plus it is a bit feminists towards the end. Not really blatant.
It was just a bit boring after you got the method down.
The first Snap Maw was really good, intimidating. After that meh.
He world didn’t seem lived in.
There is something to trying again. There were a few games I bounced off of only to come back and end up loving. There is also a point when you know it's just not going to happen. You have played it enough to know it's not for you. And that is fine.
10:50
You take that back! 😂
How is it possible that I’m able to disagree with everything that comes out of Scott’s mouth?
Thank god I thought it was just me
No. The guy's a complete shill. I can't watch the vids he hosts/writes. Believe me, I've tried.
Same experience with Horizon Zero Dawn. I really want to love it but just couldn't get into it.
i played the whole game and i still kinda felt how you feel. there was just something stopping me from sinking into it
finished it, deleted it, never wanted to touch it ever again.
Same. I deleted it once and downloaded it again and still couldn’t get into it.
Glinting Orc I liked it I until I played red dead redemption 2. Then I realised that all the things I liked about horizon red dead did way better and horizon then felt kinda mediocre
The God of War perspective was interesting. Very similar to my own. I got to that part, and got back from that realm and just didn't have any motivation to play anymore. I wanted more fights like the first one with that unknown god dude or whatever, but it was too slow...
Took me three tries at Planescape: Torment before it "clicked" and I finished it and it became one of my all time favorite games
I think this is going to be like that for me as well. I have interest in it, but put it down. But I know eventually it'll click. Sometimes you get that feeling. It's like with damn Bob Dylan. Thought I hated him until I heard his mid-60s work, and slowly but surely. Some things just take more than one go, but at the same times there's always things that just won't work for each person.
Witcher 3 for me, amazing game I just couldn’t get into it.
Witcher 3 was one of the first games I had for my PS4 and I didnt get into it either. Might have been because I was completely new to gaming in general and was overwhelmed with all the mechanics. That was like 4 years ago and I havent touched it since...
I'm the same, I tried Witcher 2 and beat the first Big Boss and just stopped cause I wasn't enjoying it. Same with Witcher 3, I made it to the second region and just stopped.
For me I think ots because if Geralt, the way he's written is kind of like they tried to find a midpoint between hero and anti-hero without committing to either.
Same here man. I tried on 4 separate occasions to get into it and I got as far as the bog with the witches at but just stopped cause I was not enjoying it at all
I felt so bad that I couldn't get through witcher 3. I beat 2
Booted it up for the first time today. Paused upstairs maybe 3 or 4 hours in wondering when it gets good
I feel like I agree with 2/3 of these and understand the rest
Same
So many fond memories of creating Sim "veal farms." 😀
I can relate to josh I played one of the GameCube sims games didn’t get very far and haven’t really bothered with them since
Kindom Hearts, till this day i don't understand a thing about all the convoluted plot
Niether do most of the fans
@@rachelanderson3694 lol 😂
I am a huge fan of KH, but boy, they do not make it easy to follow the plot! Like even having to read secret reports as you finish the game to understand it. Plus the spin-offs hold WAY too much weight. Now luckily, I have done all of this hard work and enjoy/ love the series. But seriously, they do not make it easy to new comers. "Wanna play the 3rd game, well here are 12 you have to play before that. Ohh, and they are all on different consoles." hahaha
That 2002 commercial suckered all of us into buying it on PS2 and none of us could admit that the story was trash and the controls sucked. But Disney, so somehow it persisted.
@@michaelb2westgaedu The story is silly to say the least, but back then ever God damn one of us wanted to fight alongside Disney and FF characters. Many would be lying to say otherwise.
The Witcher franchise for me (blasphemy, I know). I simply couldn't get into it. Managed to finish The Witcher 3 but it felt more like a film than a game. Enjoyed the tv show though.
you should reads the books then they are pretty good but the show does spoil the first book.
Watch Zero Punctuation Yatzee reviews of Witcher 1 and 2. You will feel vindicated.
Pokèmon. I'm married to a Nintendo gamer and she has tried repeatedly to get me into the series but like, I'm just so overwhelmed and can't take the fact that I'll never be able to have a complete pokedex having missed events and such.
I can understand the love-hate-relationship with open world games, I have that too. I had the same effect with the new God of War. But in the end, the geek in me comes out and marvels at the work that went into it. This game has no camera cuts! BRUH
for me it is Red Dead 2. i bought the ultimate edition because i loved Red Dead 1, but i think the pacing of it was too slow for me to get into. i do appreciate how amazing it is, but yeah just couldn't get into it. ill eventually give it another go but couldn't get into it and still cant today.
How far did you get in it?
RDR 2 was nowhere near as good as RDR 1. RDR 1 had a sort of goofy charm with the characters and missions that fit so well with the western style and the pacing was almost perfect, RDR 2 was way too serious for my liking and none of the characters were even remotely like able
The start of RDR2 you have to treat like any other Rockstar game - rather than focusing too much on the story, just mess around. Pull off some hijinks and create funny scenarios. Once you get into it a bit more from just messing around it becomes easier to plough through the story (and once the story gets going it becomes amazing).
Max Henderson wrong on every single thing you said think you need to replay it
I can’t get into any of the “Souls” games. Dark Souls, Bloodborne or Sekiro. Just isn’t really for me
Jordan Posts casuls not welcome in lordran
I was hoping sekiro is different from the others lol
Adel The Kid Sekiro is pretty different, I’d still recommend it if you’re not a Dark Souls/Bloodborne fan
@@Angryegg387 everyone's welcome. The Souls mentality is to not give up. Not matter if you need 5 or 50 tries for a boss
I got ds3 last week and man is it fun. Its my first 'Souls' game but I havent really been struggling as much as other people seem to. I was only able to play on 3 days of the last week and im just finishing up at Archdragon peak before I go to Lothric castle. I dont really feel like i'm getting the proper dark souls experience because I havent really had to struggle to beat a boss yet. Most times i've died to a boss was about 8 times to the first one when I was still getting comfortable with the controls. Hasnt taken me more than 3 tries to beat any boss since then.
I agree with sims. I had one of the games for the ps2 and I played it for half an hour and then did maths homework in the middle of it because I was so bored.
when josh starts ranting about the sims put it in 0.5 speed, its quite funny
I agree with MGS. Ive played them all, but simply it doesnt click with me. I think thats because I liked more Splinter Cell
It must have clicked somewhat. You played them all.
Splinter Cell needs to come back. With a vengeance.
Ah... I see you also are a man of culture.
I feel like I’m always triggered by Ewan’s answers
Borderlands 2. Since I didn't have any friends that played it (on PlayStation) at the same time as me, I'd have to play it on my own, and run out of ammo before Captain Flynt, while holding like 9001 guns
Playing the Sims started feeling very silly after I came to the realization that I was playing a game about basically having a normal life (well, not exactly normal but not exactly an adventure either). "I'm already doing that in real life - why the hell do I need to play a game about it?" was my thought - if I was going to play a game I'd rather play a game that's far more removed from reality.
Josh Brown for president!
(The Sims is boring as hell, and the only mildly entertaining part is cheating to get unlimited money to make a cool house, then immediately turning the game off.)
Metal gear all the way. I respect it but not my cup of tea.
I think the original 3 games were definitely ahead of their time. The first one came out at just the right time to captivate the masses. I appreciate the creativity behind the world that's been built and the influence the series has had on the stealth genre, but my praise ends there. Awful cutscenes, awful dialogue, mind-numbingly boring, redundant gameplay, and the games tend to be visually unappealing. I wanted to like the series, but I once I realized I was tolerating it rather than enjoying it I abandoned it.
Metal gear solid 4 (5? I have no idea) was so bad and boring. The map...it looks all the same
When I was a kid, I couldn't get into Kotor. I had played Battlefront 2 & Republic Commando, so when I shoot in Kotor and realized I'm just watching them shoot but I'm not actually doing the shooting, I hated that. Also hated the slow walking speed in the beginning and Taris took too long, I actually thought Taris was the only planet in the game. I quit Kotor before even getting a chance to leave Taris.
"You're kinda just pointing the camera at stuff"
Accurate. I like HL2, but he just hit the nail on the head with the combat.
Isn't that true for every FPS ever made though?
@@AngryLittleGnome It wasn't meant to be taken literally. He was using that oversimplification to say that enemies were bullet sponges and didn't really physically react to getting shot.
@@jackjack121 Fair enough. Still, a lot of games do that.
