- Not every ending is a happy one, we know this. But not every ending leaves you feeling happy. These ones we'd like to see altered somewhat. #ChattyFaces

I've played it GTAV through 3 times and I've never been able to select anything other than working together. I've watched the other endings online, but can't bring myself to select it.
Same here. Even though Trevor is evil as it gets, he entertained me for hours. So just watched the endings on CZcams an let them all live
I’m kinda similar. But I played options a & b after I beat the game through the replay menu.
Same. If they were going to change the ending I'd go for a full evil end where Franklin takes out both of them for their shares.
definitely understand that.
It’s just a video game lol
Me: I bet you you can't talk about bioshock for the 100th time.
Jules: Hold my little sister.
When it comes to Bioshock I'd have had the encounter with Fontaine be another story telling sequence similar to that of your meeting Andrew Ryan. But with it, REALLY focus on the lack of control that you (the player) actually have once the key phrase is said. From there, if you've chosen good side, the little sisters save you in the same stabby way; if you've harvested them throughout the game you're left to Fontaine's mercy (maybe fade to black while he openly considers all the new possibilities to use you and ends with one final "would you kindly...")
Ash a prologue is before.. it’s called the epilogue lol
She meant the prologue for RDR
Bernardo Estrela no, she meant the epilogue for RDR2 lol
@@alextownley9388 they are the same thing
Bernardo Estrela RDR and RDR2 are not the same thing lol nor are an epilogue and prologue..
@@alextownley9388 Jesus Christ the epilogue of rdr2 is the prologue to rdr1
I know that it has been done to death, but Mass Effect 3. I don't think that the extended cut endings were terrible, but I remember around the time that the vanilla game released, a channel called Lorerunner put out a 30 minute video about how he would have handled the ending and I really wish that BioWare would have come up with something similar. The new twist that he proposed was that the Crucible, this giant deus ex machina, was always a trap from the Reapers to get the species hopes up and to get them all in one place so they could all be dealt with at once. The catch being that the Reapers never expected you to accomplish what you did in truly uniting the galaxy, for reference, Javik mentions how the galaxy was nowhere near united during his time, the Protheans fought the Reapers and because they were so homogeneous, they couldn't come up with new ideas to cover their weaknesses. What you accomplish in uniting the galaxy is unprecedented and all of this would lead to a confrontation with Harbinger instead of the god child AI. From here, there would be 3 main endings, if you have the lowest readiness rating, the ships would fling themselves at the Reapers and get obliterated, and you could have a shot of the Reapers basically harvesting everyone. If your readiness is in the middle tier, Harbinger flies down, righteously pissed off and obliterates your squad, but the ships are still able to bring him down, so you do manage to stop the Reapers, but most of the main characters get wiped out and you could have a funeral scene. Finally, in the top tier finale, once again, Harbinger flies down righteously pissed off, but this time Shepard basically tells it to go to hell, saying something like "we may be insignificant bugs that aren't even a blip on your radar, but guess what, we won" at that point, the victory fleet would get in range and blow Harbinger to hell and he would be the last Reaper. What follows that would be a massive party (probably on Earth) that the whole galaxy would be invited to and everyone's spirits and massively uplifted. To close out, Shepard would be alone by the names of the fallen, and they would quietly run their finger down each of the names, you don't need to add any music, just a quiet moment for the fallen, acknowledging that their sacrifices meant something.
The first Rage had such an anticlimactic ending. I saved the rocket launcher ammo for a big final battle, and got through the waves of enemies at the core, and then... Nothing. No big boss, just credits. Very disappointing.
prodigyboyuk yes! I actually loved Rage but the whole last part of that game really fell off. And the ending was absolutely awful, I felt so empty
100% agree, loved the combat, racing, everything in that game. Get to the final mission of the game, storm the base, all ready to take down the head of the Authority and whatnot, and then... nothing happens. And there were boss fights before that, like the Kraken, etc, so there's no reason to not have one.... probably what has put me off playing Rage 2 more than anything was the lack of a real ending to Rage 1.
I loved The Walking Dead season 1, 2 and 4 endings but I wish Lee never died :(
100% agree. I would've preferred if Lee and Clem got separated at the end of season 1, then you're Lee for season 2, Clem for 3, and both in season 4 after they reunite.
But it was a great ending.
Lee died too soon he was a great character ;^;. Kenny is...fine I guess but I still prefer Lee as Clem's father figure...
@@Gamamus I would honestly like that the most.
I’d rather had lee be the one you find at the ski resort than kenny
I'm glad Jules mentioned something along the lines of "the bad guy can win and it can be a good ending" - yes! So much yes!
This is more directed at Hollywood than video games, but jeebus, it's like script writers, directors and producers don't realise that strong, negative emotion is still emotion. They're just so averse from doing a powerful ending where everything doesn't end nicely that very often we get a much less realistic and much less impactful ending.
As a relatively recent case, spoiler alert, but at the end of Inferno (the third in the Dan Brown movie conversions, I believe it was actually the fourth book) the virus that would have made half the population sterile (for population control reasons) is stopped. I told the people I was with (girlfriend, her mum and brother) that I thought it would've been a much more interesting ending if the virus had actually gotten out and they had to deal with the repercussions. According to my partner, apparently that more or less is what happens in the book, and they changed it in the movie for... reasons. Maybe they thought people wouldn't like the idea of the bad guys winning? But as a result, we're robbed of a better, stronger, and thought provoking ending.
As another couple of cases - Code Geass and Death Note. Both have arguably negative - or at least bitter-sweet - endings, and both are much better for it as the ending really fits the arc of the story. We're not forced into some absurd happily ever after case - there are stains on the ending thanks to the actions of the antiheroes (though I think you could easily call Light a villain), and they aren't hidden for the sake of forced positivity.
I agree. The fact that they dramatically changed the ending to the good guys stopping the virus was really stupid. The original ending was far better, and the studio going with the "good guys always win" approach ruined what the book/movie was all about. I mean, if The Empire Strikes Back, Avengers Infinity War and Revenge of the Sith could end with the bad guys winning and still be great movies, why didn't the studio just take the risk?
Bad guys winning is always better
Trevor was crazy but you killed the the most loyal character in the game, the messed up part is Trevor would never kill you or Michael if given the same offer.
Trevor was a psychotic serial killer who murdered people on a whim and would continue to murder anyone who slightly annoyed him until someone put him down. Killing Trevor wasn't even a hard choice, it should have been the first thing the characters did when they met him.
MrBazBake and Franklin and Michael dont?
Trevor is my role model
@@RollingxBigshot that technically depends on who's controlling him, however, if no one is controlling them likely Michael and Franklin would not
Mental Popcorn they kill tons of innocent people throughout the missions, not just Trevor. All 3 of them are terrible people. Ffs Michael blew up a guy that was just selling a prototype phone and had 0 remorse about it
I am 100% with you on Firewatch Rach! Though seeing the game is based on decision making, there should be multiple endings based on the choices your character makes.
Mafia 2 - I just hate when a game ends on a cliffhanger.
And then we got the trash sequel of Mafia 3
The worst part is when they leave it unresolved
Out of all this I want the survival of Jimmy resolved cuz I'm still frustrated see the driver look like him and have it all closed out
haven't played much of Mafia 2, but I'm with you on cliffhangers. Fucking Half-Life 2 Episode 2 and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn ( all 3 Golden Sun games end with at least some kind of cliffhanger, but Dark Dawn was the last one & it's getting close to a decade with no closure )
@@newageBoundhippie the news of that sequel is already out by now and it was already discussed by the creator that production was lacking in 2006 and since then it was canned(for half life)
GTA 5. Should have the option to take out both Michael and Trevor
Mass Effect 3, obviously.
Is that even a question?
Aw another crybaby still doesn't understand the ending.
By the title I'd think it's a video purely about Mass Effect 3 :3
Probably too east a pick.
It was changed though, by mods. Like, three major ending replacers... And no canon since ME4 isn't made yet and Andromeda was vague.
It’s what I thought of
RDR.... John manages to live somehow. He is never tracked down by the FBI. He gets to be happy with his family.
Maxine Hora the ending was perfect back when the game originally released. Tbh I KIND OF lost a bit of love for it after seeing Arthur’s sacrifice in RDR2
That brought a year to my eye Jules. A fade to Black with Fontaine laughing would've been perfect.
7:22 this guy opened my eyes to the real world!!!!
Man you actually killed Trevor. What the hell is wrong with you!
You disgust me
I didn't kill anyone. All 3 alive and well.
When you first play Trevor it's so extreme it's scary. I hated switches cause it might be Trevor and I often thought let me just get threw this so I can move on to the rest of the game. Than I realized as sick as he is it creates a level of immersion into a experience while I wasn't prepared nor wanted I'm completely connected to and part of. That's hard for a game to pull off specially with something you would normally avoid. You need Trevor in a way he's your moral compass.
Only irl scumbags, who have no loyalty or empathy, kill trev.
Dude, Trevor is a bad man.
14:10 - 14:14 "I'm the best im the best you little mug and you can go F*CK OFF!" I don't know why but I played this part so many times over. It just makes me laugh out loud every time🤣🤣🤣🤣
prologue and epilogue are different things. 3:46
but you didn't completely fluff the pronunciation of anything, so well done.
How did I know Scott would say ME 3, and even though he switched to MGS, it was still the first thing he said lol
From the thumbnail alone I bet if the opition to kill Franklin was available they all would have taken it
Why does scott always remind me of martin sheen in the 90's spawn movie lol you guys are awsome
*Mass Effect 3*
The ending of the phantom pain.
I'd give it one.
MASS EFFECT!
Scott I'd recommend you look for the fan comic that deals with the end of the original Metal Gear.

Ash, did you mean epilogue? A
Prologue happens at the beginning of the story.
Mass Effect 3: secret 4th ending. Shepard mind melds with the star child and his sheer willpower overwhelms it, giving him access to the reapers mind control power. He turns the reapers against each other, wiping them all out. Then to finish the job, he self destructs with the Star Child inside his mind, permanently ending the threat and giving him the heroic sacrifice he deserves. Mass relays still exist and humans find their place in space and an accepted race
Done.
Stern Fronson that's actually one choice already the secret 4th choice is shoot the star child who reveals is a reaper who kills everyone
Shepard already has several options for a heroic sacrifice, they deserve an option for a happy ending.
@@UbermanPrime Naaahh, not every game needs a happy ending. I'm perfectly fine with Shepard dying in the end... In the whole series reapers are depicted as unmatchable and inevitable force, how could anyone expect that it can end happily and without deaths and sacrifices? The worst thing about the ending of ME3 imho is the lackluster final level without any boss fight and meaningless dialogue options while confronting Illusive man...
The Control Ending is basically the Catalyst (star child) being rewritten to behave exactly like Shepard.
I would make it that Sheppard has temporary control to weaken the Robo-Borg ships to with the help of Legion(if you have gained the trust of the original Laviatians for those of which that brought the dlc..... and were probably mad to see that they were NOT IN THE FINAL BATTLE FOR EARTH!!!!!!!) have the Real Laviatians be able to destroy or bring the fight back to the alliance and stop the Universe from having to repeat Ragnorok every 10,000 years. I could deal with Sheppard dying (though I loved the guy/girl), but let him come back in a form like Legion. Even if he was able to pull an Ultron and create an ultimate form and find out whomever you banged, you find out that you or your ex-lover have/had/has a child, but Bioware might be dead before we can get a real ME4......... or fix ME3's issue.......... oh well!!! That would have been great for an ending if they would have done it right!!!
It should've been a secret ending where Arthur and Mary go off and live happily instead of the Saint Dennis robbery going wrong
Denko Benko she got ass
Or Arthur with Mary Beth, hell, even Arthur all alone but you get to kill Micah
***Sadie
My Arthur impregnated her and told John to give her my portion of the loot.
Sooooo is it just me that thinks there was a missed opportunity to say "When the Tetris movie drops"!

Mass Effect 3 because I think it was kinda similar to each ending just a different color
Jules man, that's a kick ass idea!
The first Tomb Raider game. I would have kept Lara on the island in a similar way to how Walker stays in Dubai in Spec Ops: The Line (if you kept him alive after meeting Konrad).
11:02 love that shirt, and Rach aswell
Mass Effect 3. Change it to reveal the indoctrination theory.
dat Theory fits so well is crazy is not actually cannon...i mean...i know if you research well enough about anything you can make up a theory , but this one i think has no plot holes and even scary is how will it help the mess up ending(i didn't hate that much though) and open up to a new game(or dlc) to end it right...
Duvro I really enjoy the indoctrination idea for the ending because as you’ve said, it absolutely fits, but I also really love the experience of a game developer twisting things in a way where you question if what’s being presented to you is what’s really happening. Like, if they used the narrative wheel against you by flipping it, making the final “paragon” choice be the reality the Reapers present you... the one that seems right, and the choice that leads to an ending where the Reapers win and all of your choices reveal you to be the second coming of Saren. They really had an amazing opportunity to inject some great, memorable science fiction story telling into ME3 and they took a hard pass, and it makes me sad.
@Revolver Ocelot: riiiiiiiiiight, because red/green/blue space magic makes SO much more sense. The whole ending is bullshit. Destroy is the only viable option. Any other choice and the Reapers win. Period. And then there's the epilogue where grandpa reveals it was all a bedtime story.
Revolver Ocelot is it hard to imagine shepherd would face some sort of indoctrination attempt after all the reaper tech he’s been exposed to over the years.
Do I really have to say it? Mass Effect 3.
I was shocked when I saw that nobody talked about ME3
@@pedroelmarable709 I'm pretty sure no one said it because it was too obvious
@@lucaiannetta901 I hope that's the reason
Yeah, but which ending would you change? /snark
How would you've ended Mass Effect 3? Every fan ending Ive heard has been better than what we got.
I feel Arthur Morgan should die as it makes sense and ends his story but I would have changed the high honour ending having Arthur kill Micah before dying. Maybe if you go back for the money it could be like how Leonidas dies in Odyssey where Arthur Stabs Micah but Micah uses the rest of his strength to stab Arthur or vice verse (but I think since Arthur is weak with tuberculosis it make more sense this way) and if you go with john either you getting the gun and shooting Micah or you throwing yourself off a cliff dragging him with you at the end of the fight. In the low honour ending however I’d (even in the epilogue) let Micah Live. If you really wanted to maybe make American Venom a bounty hunt but make it where you have to bring him in alive but I’d have him be free to make the low honour ending worse.
Epilogue not prologue*
I'd change the ending of Wolfenstein 2 to have a bigger boss battle with Frau Engel. I understand why the ending was the way it was, especially when BJ says something along the lines of "How does it feel to be old & weak?", but it would've been more satisfying than it was.
Scott in Hideo Kojima worship shocker.
Rach, awesome shirt!
At least someone mentioned “mass effect 3”.
I was fine with the epilogue missions of RDR2. It was a nice segue into RDR1. It served as a prologue to the original game.
Here is hoping Rockstar recreates RDR1 using RDR2 and makes it a DLC. That would be the perfect icing on the cake for Red Dead Redemption.
@@Josep_Hernandez_Lujan that rumor was debunked and revealed as a hoax. The person on Reddit revealed that he made it up.
@@Josep_Hernandez_Lujan it would have made sense. That is why the rumor took off the way it did. I wouldn't have had an issue with it. It would have been different. But who knows ... maybe Rockstar might be planning something.
I have to agree about GTA V, there was no point to the “who will die?” decision. I just went for keeping everyone alive because there was no emotional or narrative reason to choose to kill/save either of them.
It's speculated that Franklin was supposed to die in the deathwish ending and be replaced with Lamar. But Lamar's voice actor was arrested before they could record voice lines.
11:05 Cool shirt... ACDC Hell yeah \m/
I'm sorry... is that Oasley giving it some sass?! 555
The Legend of Heros: Trails of Cold Steel 2.
Everything after beating Crow and ending the civil war... The entire plot of the game is based around class 7 trying to end the civil war and beat Crow to convince him to give up and come back to them, but when they finally do beat him, the game shift gears twice, as you start playing with characters which someone like me who never played the Trails series before this game have no idea who they even are! And after playing with them for an hour or two, you go back to class 7, for their final time at Thors, and the final journey into the old schoolhouse. The schoolhouse was a monthly dungeon in CS1, but in CS2, it became a long slog of a final dungeon with a random boss at the end...
Scott made me think how awesome the story of how Liquid and Psycho Mantis would fit for a subplot of Raidens Child soldier years, establishing Solidus as an antihero, charged with killing his brother.... I WANT METAL GEAR RISING 2, FOR F***S SAKE !!
Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra. I loved the series, but sadly it didn't sell well enough to go for the entire six games that the developers planned on. As such, the ending showed some crunched elements that made it seem partially "we've gotta wrap things up" and partially "but this could continue, here's a cliffhanger or two." I don't blame anyone in particular for how things turned out due to circumstances, but it's definitely an ending I'd want them to remake with as much time as they needed and with the full knowledge that the series is done.
I wish people would understand that the epilogue for RDR2 is a sort of apology for not having Marston at the end of 1 and a chance to show why Arthur's sacrifice has weight.
I love the dudes glasses I need to get A pair like that
Something tells me that one lad is reading too much into the ending of Tetris.
Lol I would've hated it if Rdr2 didn't have the epilogue and we left micah alive
I know right! I loved the epilogue and felt that it was completely necessary considering it was setting up the story for RDR.
Rach has great taste in music
Ewan is a Zofia main too! A man of great tastes
Co-Sign on Firewatch.
I agree with Ash, I loved everything about Arthur’s story, so much I restarted the game and just decided to not do anything except just be with Arthur...
Alone in the dark for wii:
When the game ended it will spawn a portal to hell then thw game disk will float to that hole and you would never have to see it again :-)
Life is strange, the decision at the end that makes all the earlier choices pointless really pissed me off
Absolutely agree with you
Torchlight 2. I just didn't even realize the game was over. All of a sudden, it was. I was so in love with the gameplay I kind of missed the entire story.
The little town in Wolfenstein two is Roswell New Mexico little fun fact I know this because I myself am from New Mexico and I thought it was cool that they had Roswell in the game but I agree I felt the ending was a little abrupt and I would’ve liked a little more closure
Ash Millman said she didn't think the prologue was necessary in Red Dead 2 and then explains the EPILOGUE. This immediately throws all of her credibility out of the window.
The darkness 2. With hindsight a cliffhanger to a game we will never get wasn't the way to go, they should have brought the angelous in earlier and had her be the final fight
Ewan zofia main confirmed
Big LOVE to Rach in the AC⚡️DC shirt I mean that compliment politely of course just noticeably gorgeous look I couldn’t help but call out.
Can we get just one Far Cry game that has an actual good ending? Not just a least worst ending?
Primal had a good ending. Cannibals and pyromaniacs both die and the wenja live their admittedly short lives in peace
5s ending was excellent. People's complaints about it are purely down to their shallowness of thought.
Tet Ris. I loved that game(as I do the Geordie accent. I called it Tetris though 🤣
No, the Wolfenstein 3 stuff was pretty much resolved in Youngblood, it was resolved terribly but it was resolved
I would actually say Borderlands 2, and for one major reason only: the boss was a total pushover. It felt anticlimactic as heck when you realized that you could just load into it with a decent AR and it would hardly be able to do anything before Jack is yelling at it to go back into the lava. So basically, I’d make the guardian stronger, or at least more of a health sponge so you can’t lock him into a cycle of retreats so easily.
I love you guys!
Definitely needed Mission 51, so nearly a masterpiece to have such a monumental plot hole.
Shadows of Mordor. QT event and credits. Yay. Such a great game until that point. Never finish any game with a QT event, especially that one.
Sequal did it better, but I would have prefered a 3 way free for all at the end
Assassin’s Creed - the original AC had such an abrupt non-ending which demanded AC2 come in and explain what has happened to Desmond, what the bleeding effect is and what the f is going on before it could start properly.
And damn, agree with Jules on Bioshock
SHADOW OF COLOSSUS FOR SURE......the ending is just so painful.
I agree with Josh on Days Gone. Too much media has a hyper focus on "never giving up no matter how ridiculous it is" and I get tired of it. Can we have more media about healthily moving on?
They both lived two years thinking that the other is most probably dead. Then still clinging to the last shred of hope (even if it turns out to be true) isn't healthy or even original anymore. It's a cliche by now.
Dammit Jules Bioshock really
Ash: I dont like the Prologue
Me: But the train heist is so cool and we finally learn how John got his scars.
Ash: The building house part was cool..
Me: Ooohh you mean the Epilogue
Make Arthur Morgan live as an ending
Fallout 4: because if for some reasons you would have a chance to become the head of the evil Institute, why not taking the job and turn the Institute into a good force? These guys basically invented a way to replicate humans bodies. This technology could lead into making new organs for transplantation and life saving technologies but you just blew it because they were bad.
I always thought about this as well, as director, shouldn’t you be able to change the institutes policies towards wasteland involvement and synth treatment?
Actually, Oasley, I think you bring up an interesting question that I've thought about for a little while. I'd like to ask, here: How would people feel about valve makes some kind of short film to end off Half-life's story if they aren't going to make a full-on half-life three? I mean, I would take that. It would be something. Like you said. It needs an ending.
You probably already know by now but Half Life Alyx actually confirmed Half Life 3 for real
@@jimmy_the_squid9456 yeah, that was a trip and a half. Guess we wait to see what comes of it, eh?
Jules isn't alone in his dislike of Bioshock's final boss fight. Bioshock creator Ken Levine openly admits in the interview videos (featured in Bioshock: The Collection) that he also seriously didn't like having to include the final battle with Atlas/Fontaine. In his mind, it didn't make any sense. The Big Daddy fights and Ryan's various henchmen all made sense but the Atlas battle just felt serious unnecessary. This conclusion was only included because the publisher leaned on him to do it in exchange for their endorsement. To be honest, I agree. Bioshock 2's main game didn't have a final boss battle and it was just fine. Bioshock: Infinite - Burial At Sea didn't really have any boss battles (except for the possible big Daddy fight in Episode 1) and that was perfectly acceptable. Bioshock 2: Minerva's Den DLC technically had a final boss but that boss was human like Ryan's henchmen, so it at least fit the context. Atlas? Nah! He just felt like a typical video game end boss and while it didn't completely throw the game out for me, it did feel very uncomfortable.
Like Jules, I LOVE Bioshock. So much so in fact that I would even go as far as to say that before Bioshock came along I hadn't been so emotionally invested in a Horror gaming franchise since Silent Hill. However, boss fights were never a major part of the experience.
Also, Ewan was right. Given the option in GTA V I would also pick Trevor purely because he murders my favorite character in the GTA franchise - Johnny Klebitz.
Smash TV (I'm showing my age) had the worst ending. In that it didn't have one. The game was so hard the developers assumed nobody would finish it. I did on Legendary difficulty level and got sweet FA. I have never felt so disappointed in myself so much. I will never get that time back
I'd say mass effect 3 but I already did change it (thank you mods!)
Yep me too. I installed MEHEM. That to me is the best ending ever for this 3 part Space Saga.
Firewatch was great. A happy ending would not have worked. You were right the whole point was that it was hopeless...unfortunately. Great game
Mass effect 3, shadow of the colossus and RDR 1
I agree about GTAV to some degree, but I feel like it's the core narrative that should've been a bit different. I would've preferred it was 3 completely narrative with stories that only intersect at certain points. It would've made any interaction between the characters a lot more interesting on the few instances they occurred.
Chatty faces are still my favorite feature of the channel. And Rach...
The only game that comes to mind recently would be... probably Broforce.
The bad ending has the main character (Rambro, go figure...) kill the president after being elected as world leader for saving the planet (The good ending is another story) And that's it, short cut-scene of your character standing over the dead corpses of the world leaders and then, it ends.
Proper ending should be the main character turning into the very enemy he swore to destroy to save the world and you have to face-off and take him down as someone else.
I wish the developers made a Broforce sequel or expansion.
No kotor 2? I mean wven with the restored content...
Fallout 4. The quality drop from new vegas to 4 is well documented and going from what might be the best example of how to end an open world rpg to multiple versions of the same ending just with different NPC's standing next to you is probably the best example of this quality drop
Life is Strange. Go back to the beginning, call the police to arrest the evil guy. Might prevent Kate from suicide as well.
Ash don’t you mean epilogue not prologue? I think you do
Yeah, finishing the game wouldn't have changed how stupid the twist of some random medic being as good a soldier if not even better than Big Boss, to such an extent where he could imitate him with none being the wiser.
