I just downloaded the demo and played for 3 hours straight. Doesn't feel like a demo because you can keep unlocking stuff. This game is so simple and dark and rougelike goodness.

It was probably a wasp, since you never mentioned the stinger being left behind. Bees often leave their stingers behind upon stinging, dying soon after. However, wasps can sting multiple times because their stinger remains firmly attached.
You're thinking about honeybees, which are vey odd compared to other bees. Detachable stings are a trait unique to that genus of bees, and one genus of paper wasps (warrior wasps). Every other bee is just as capable of repeated stings as every wasp (assuming they have a stinger at all). So if you piss off a bumblebee, it will react much like an umbrella wasp, sting as many times as it wants, and won't leave behind anything except venom. So that means he still could have been hit by a number of different bee species as well.
Yeah, I think there's more solitary "vespidae" insects than eusocial ones, and their main means of defending their eggs/larvae being deadly to them, is not a solid survival strategy unless there's more than one of them, and they're not the one laying eggs to perpetuate the genes

Rogue-likes are the perfect game type for "dropped in the deep end" story vibes. By definition, you're going to lose, and in losing, you gain knowledge. Happy to see a game that does it well

It is so interesting to me how people can be plopped into a game that makes no sense and operates by its own rules but people still eventually learn to adapt and be able to operate even if they still don’t fully understand what’s going on. It’s honestly always so cool to watch the progression from ‘wtf is anything that’s happening right now’ to noting important details that help you progress
Finding out that my friend was involved with the inspiration for the game and that not only she’s basically the main character but that also she mentioned my name to the dev and one of the character is named after me and that Markiplier now indirectly knows my name and even said it out loud is like such a trip, i love it.

Why do I get the feeling it's going to be revealed that the main character is high on something and has just been attacking the other party guests unprovoked?
My thoughts are they are suffering from sort of psychosis with also having drank too much and possibly drugs at the party.

Mark did play a game like that back in his early EARLY days. Like 2012ish. It was actually the first videos I ever watched him play lmao can’t remember the name of it now, but the PC was in a hospital fighting demons and monsters and at the end it revealed he was just slaughtering innocent nurses and doctors.

Mark, i Too have had a bee/wasp fly into my chest. I was riding a motorcycle in 40 degree weather (like 110f) with a bit of my jacket open. A wasp flew into me, crawled under my shirt. i sat down at a cafe and was then stung 6-7 times repeatedly whilst doing a dance of " get this bloody jacket and shirt off me". the impact of a bug at that speed really hurts... then anything else is just insult to injury!
It could be a wasp, bees sadly only sting once and die soon after :( i hope youre alright though!

That exact thing with the bee happened to me as a kid. Hit me in the shoulder and rolled over and stung the back of my shoulder on my way home from swimming. fifteen minutes later I was covered in hives and my dad rushed me to the hospital. Anaphylactic shock is no joke, it's a good thing you aren't allergic.

Similar story, was driving with the windows half down. Bee managed to fly in through the passenger window (I was going about 35-40 mph, so that was a hell of a shot Mr. Bee) and the bugger managed to fly right up under my knee. Thankfully I lived in the middle of nowhere and was able to pull over quickly without worrying about any traffic.

3:41 my Dad almost died to this a few years ago. Never had allergies in his life, but one day when he was riding 25mph on his road bicycle in the middle of nowhere, a bee splatters into his face and within 2 minutes he's face first on the pavement struggling to breathe. Thank God he was riding with his vet girlfriend (who I guess had something with her to stabilize him), who just so happened to know the people living at one of the only houses within eyesight.

@@christina4558 hormones and age i guess? i'd lean more on hormones cos my step mom used to eat peanut butter and other foods in the nut family, but when she had my twin brothers she became TOTALLY allergic to them which is insane, like touch peanut butter and she can break out.
You can lose em too i used to be allergic to fur and some sweeteners but a few years back and both no longer bother me

This game needs to be more popular. for a demo it has so much to do and so many things that you just won't find. not to mention the lore is surprisingly deep. like enemies react differently to you playing root and there's 2 hidden boss fights just for her and then the secret events are so wild sometimes that it actually makes me question everything happening like i got an event where the whole thing was a prank by Noir's friends and that they were all playing a roll and that fucking rugs was wearing the no skin man suit

Right as I did, a honey bee flew up my nose and stung me inside my nostril. I had to like yank it out of my nose. Felt like I had to sneeze for about a week lol

Definitely a bee. Bees have jagged stingers that get stuck in the skin and when they pull away their stinger is still embedded in the skin. Once they lose their stingers they die.
