I haven't ever been "crushed" by my disappointment in a game, but the closest I came was probably Just Cause 4.
When it came out Just Cause 3 was, and it still is, my favorite game of this generation, so naturally I was hyped when I heard about Just Cause 4.
But then when the time came, it had none of the magic that made Just Cause 3 so good.
The wingsuit wasn't as responsive or accurate, it was a lot harder to avoid dying, the enemies were tougher to kill, the weapons and gadgets weren't as good.
My favorite part of Just Cause 3 is that you were basically immortal, and no one could stop you, or even really slow you down. The only thing limiting you was your own imagination. Just Cause 4 was far more limited, and you weren't invincible anymore, you were just like any other antagonist from any random game.
In spite of all that though, I still completed Just Cause 4, and I've got about 20 hours in it over the last year.
I was disappointed, but I wasn't crushed. Mostly because I'm a very casual gamer. I'm not the kind of person to put thousands of hours into a game.

Dragon Age 2, it was obviously a rush job and the story felt far too small and stupid (you had to kill both sides’ leaders no matter who you sided with). That’s not even getting into where it fits in the canon and why. DA Orgins didn’t have the best combat and they still managed to make the second game’s a bit worse, with far to be of a focus on looking cool then balance and alike. To me that was when BioWare become a “borrow from a friend or buy games preowned (or on sale)” studio.

That criticism of Mass Effect 3's premise is incredibly stupid. EVERY side mission in the game builds war assets for the final battle against the Reapers, it's not like you're just going off and doing random side jobs while people die, every mission you complete nets you additional support and resources for the war. Because of that, the side quests actually make a lot _more_ sense than in most video games involving impending/ongoing disasters. Even Mass Effect 1 is an example; it makes no sense that Shepard would ignore the threat of Saren and the Reapers to do basically any of the side missions in that game.

God of War 3. This game was SO monumentally terrible (in comparison to its console predecessors) that I was dead certain that it had destroyed the franchise. you could beat it in 3 and a half - 4 hours, and the puzzles were so easy that a brain dead monkey could solve them. This coming from a franchise that has both long games and very difficult puzzles.
Bioshock Infinite. They really did only three things right. (1) Bookers' relationship with Elizabeth. (2) the game play mechanics. (3) Bookers' relationship with Cornelius Slate. Literally everything else was a train wreck. If they hadn't tried, and failed so hard, to copy InFamous, Infinite would have come out a lot better.

Just cause 3 and 4 are simple capture the island games. Capture these outposts and do a mission to unlock the next area and move on. Whereas just cause 2 did those ‘capture the outpost’ as well developed side missions which for me just further immersed me into the world and had characters I cared more about. Also the whole world was available to explore from the get go, you could still benefit from this by finding gun funds and vehicle funds so could upgrade and change your guns. That’s the thing I miss the most

I was also crushed by JC3 and 4. The two main reasons is that the worlds felt empty, whereas JC2 you could barely move for finding something to kill or destroy, 3 and 4 just seemed to have way too much distance between anything. Which brings me to my other issue, mini map, or lack thereof. The fact that Avalanche gave us these HUGE maps to run around in, but neglected to put a mini map in for us to be able to navigate on the fly, just bogged the game down in needless menu/map checking. was just so disappointed in these 2 games.

As the non stop sound effect from the Tach on there (literally every 2 seconds) making there awful screeches, feel like the games physically pulling my teeth out and makes me wanna tear my ears off 😂😂, and it got me thinking, maybe you guys could do a chatty faces episode on sound effects in games that drive you mad.

Resident Evil 6. I liked most of the characters, it was pretty, and I could get past the lack of horror if it was fun. I still have a blast with RE5 that had solid controls and a great Merc mode. But RE6 was miserable to play. That awful stamina bar that was always empty, the wildly bobbing aiming reticle, bullets that never seemed to have any real impact on their targets, and just general control frustration. It had some solid ideas if only it had been executed better. It took me many years before I finally finished that game and I never want to go back.

Exec1: what worked so great about the first two games?
Visceral: well, our claustrophobic settings, innovative weapons, and focus on single player immersion.
Exec2: so..... what if we made the environments open and action based, made the weapon system a generic hodge-podge of customizing nonsense and micro-transactions, and completely removed the single player immersion and tension and made it a forgettable co-op action piece?
