- My latest video demonstrates throwing a porcelain bottle form on the potter's wheel. It got a little tricky when it came to the neck... but I just about saved it! Hope you enjoy :)

Very nice...I also want to learn..how can I proceed?
How can the clay maintain its strength when you use so much water. Is this particular clay body just resistant to being weakened by moisture?
I use the blow torch to dry it as I throw, it helps give the porcelain strength so it doesn't collapse.
3:30 for me this the finish product
make more videos please :)
Wow is all I got to say

the damn blowtorch ... never seen a video of his without one LOL
It's a matter of personal choice... Sure, it's possible to throw without using a blowtorch but I choose to use one when throwing with porcelain as it allows me to throw thinner and lighter, pushing the limits of form with less chance of the work collapsing in on itself, especially when collaring in the neck. I make pottery for a living, so achieving consistency in the work that I make is important, plus it leads to fewer failures when working with more extreme shapes. If you're not a fan, you don't have to watch.
