This channel teaches me to pay attention to process and the rest will follow :)))

      Most universities have classes in making pottery, in the arts department. I remember taking the class many decades ago. I liked the old fashioned kick wheel, not an electric powered one. In an empty peaceful pottery room, with the silence and the rhythm of the kickwheel controlled by one's own energy, it was like meditation.

    • @bobbywhite5319
      @bobbywhite5319 Před 7 lety +7

      Hmm, depends on how deep the bowl will be. If beginners try to make a big salad bowl, you'll be in for a challenge. Start small, but the most challenging part of ceramics is centering. Even after you pat down the clay as round as you can, it will never be centered which is why you need to do that.

    Beautiful work! Though I must admit, I'm a bit jealous of your little glaze ladle for painting the clay. When I took ceramics at my school, it was so messy with the glaze and it was difficult getting the stuff out of your nails even when you love working with clay! Great job, and you got a tasty-looking salad on top of that, too! ^^

    Beautiful work! How well does the glaze hold up to day to day use? Do they scratch or discolor. Would love to invest in these kind of plates but not sure if they are for light use only.
    Thanks for sharing your craft.

    I would never be able to make something as good as this. I don't have the patience, and there's nowhere in my town that has any kind of kiln.
    Though I did make a small vase jar thing with a flower-shaped lip in art class once. That's about as much as I've done with pottery.
