This is awesome! A local coffee shop here in Sacramento use all her ceramics exclusively. I was just looking at her instagram/website last night. What a small world!
Which coffee shop?
@Star Dawg Mast Coffee
I'm a metal artist just getting into ceramics and this was exactly what I needed to see to get inspired. Part of the challenge of being an artist is to master the materials so you can create what you want.
The amount of thought, and effort that goes into something that many don’t even think about. This was beautiful, and eye opening!
I love her passion and how she's willing to share how she does the things she does. Without mentioning how beautiful her work is! Loving it :)
2 things,
First, i love videos like this, showing someone super passionate talking about their craft and giving new insights into things the average person might never really think about.
And second, i love the community here in the Eater comments, cause I dont think ive seen comment sections on CZcams this polite and engaged on any other channel this size
also her smile when shes talking about all this is just everything, you can tell how much she loves and cares about it all
Ngl never thought about plates so deeply until today and I think it’s super cool
Its always so great to hear people talk about something they're passionate about. This was such a good video. So much thought and collaboration goes into it. Such great care to make sure the diner has a good experience 😄
I LOVED watching you create your art. I feel exactly the same about creating, presenting and eating from beautiful ceramics. It takes dining to a very special level. Please, please do more videos!!!!!
Everything in this video is magical. Never thought how a single piece of ceramic carries so much story.♥
That was some mighty fine editing. Beyond that, Erin's work is legendary in the SF Bay area !
Very beautiful craftsmanship. I love how patient and knowledgeable she is about her craft. When Erin kept saying Kim’s name my eyes got big lol Because I want to have my own line of dinnerware in the near future.
I love her enthusiasm!
This was a fine little film! I enjoyed learning about the clay process, and the food presentation was stunning!
What an amazing journey with food and pottery , as a human race this beautiful person has brought to the modern time a new story of timeline in which food shall be served. Bravo 👏🏻
Beautiful work
I love to see people who are engaged in their craft
This woman has given the best instructions, and important information, to people like me who are just starting to research making pottery.
loved this episode. shes so inspiring!
I love this video. Thank you.
Beautiful plates👍🏻😊 it was enjoyable watching her making them.
This is my first time seeing someone using snail caviar, I didn’t know it could be used that way😅
Wow you are amazing. I pray your good job and efforts goes a long way.God bless you

This young lady has a lot of talent.
this was a cool video!
The BGM of this video is really intriguing
they make it look so easy lol m in ceramics rn and it’s tough
Great video and all but the first thing the chef does when she goes out is looks at the bottom of the plate?
COOL! 😊👍
Pretty cool
I almost want to see a list of the restaurants she works with so I can visit them and eat off these plates.
Gorgeous
These are fun videos. Only potters will smirk at the editing ;)
Love ceramics
How do they like the dishwasher ?
How do you like a dishwasher
@@_downunderdutch289 I prefer mexican ones
Why do you like a dishwasher?
When do you why your dishwasher
What in the heck my dishwasher
Looks amazing! Didn't get how the bubbly texture is made :((
Air bubbles don't cause explosions in the kiln. I regularly throw bowls with rolled rims that have a ring of air trapped in the rim. I've never had one explode. Water, though? Yeah, water in the clay will cause explosions every time.
Really? They have always told me it was the air trapped inside! For the water do you mean that the clay was not dry enough when it went in the kiln?
New sub! Liked 🙏😊😃😃
Nightbird 🤩🤩🤩
Mic Drop. LOVE & BEAUTY
Nicely done 😊.
JO JO IN VT 😆
As a ceramicist, this is a little "precious", but we don't want to take away the passion the artist has with impact of the experience.
You seem to have misspelled pretentious.
@@pyro637 word.
I disagree. If you're a real foodie and a ceramicist working with table ware this is a great example of mindful work and collab.
@@gnarbeljo8980 poorly thrown dishes with probably non food safe glazes that are a pain to clean contradict your statement. Functionality of ware and food safety are the most important factors in this field.
I’ve never checked the plates at a restaurant
Nobody does
Her hand game must be out of this world
I would love to see these plates in a dinner scene for the new Beetlejuice movie
Everything working together, you know, like congress does. Excellent video and that made me laugh
lmao, "like congress does"
Is wax coating good for health???????????????
How fast could y’all make 50 plates?
Actually it is not the air bubbles that result in explosions in killns, its the water trapped inside of those airbubbless so as long as ur clay air dries enough to get most of the water out it should be fine i guess...
A gallery in Hell waits for no opening
Incredible. She's deconstructed a plate, making it impossible to: Stack, wash or afford. That's an achievement in and of itself.
Don't worry chum. There will always be paper plates for high rollers like you.
It's being made for a restaurant. Her making them plates is in no way stopping anyone from buying affordable plates.
I love self entitled folks. Its a free world
@@mohdanasmohdnor1608 Not sure what you mean by that. Please expand.
As a professional potter myself I got to say: thank you for expressing my thoughts exactly.
Talks about 4 glaze catagorys, i thought they were gonna talk about the type of glaze they used not what it's made out of.
SO why would a diner ever slip over a plate after eating y_y
That struck me as odd too as one wouldn't do that with a dirty plate, only one set out clean ie before (but these plates arent, they come with the montage of the course) . I'd have stamped the inside of the revealer cups for the caviar and tiny dishes.
For the ones who reads this just know this is only the beginning keep pushing, grinding, and fighting. Whatever it is in life you want to do to go after it life is to short. Life is a marathon not a sprint so go out there and live it up I hope all is well and goes well for you peace and one love.
No inflation felt in that restaurant!
I'm looking for my mother who makes porcelain plates ALAN Ferrell I don't even know her name
This is what people should be doing instead of drugs
Agreed, doing drugs off these plates would be amazing
@@nacs unless you spill any in the textured part
The last thing I care about is my plate. I just want the food the be delicious
That's a shame.
It sounds like you're living in a fantasy world.
Nobody cares about plates
@@NativeAsElizabethWarren ceramic plates and bowls make up some of the most valuable and historical antiques in the world. there are many museums focusing specifically on ceramics... but go off clown.
@@ratwhocankickflip maybe ones that are actually beautiful. These are ugly as all get out, yet she talks about them like they’re fine art. They look like stuff I made in middle school for fun.
@@marcopolo1134 exactly, and their-own-fart-smelling Californians
This is the most pretentious 15 mins on YT
Who’s your daddy @1:55
As a professional and highly trained potter myself I don't get how she became so successful. She isn't a very good thrower (maybe she was just nervous because of the camera team), I wouldn't bet on the food safety of her glazes, cleaning these plates with this bubbly glaze must be a huge pain (no go in fine dining), in this clip she wasn't able to correctly describe what the different ingredients of glaze do.... I could go on forever to point out the things that appear extremely unprofessional to me..... But hey, good for her.
Japanese masters be like... " Shes a master?" Lol americans
if we pay our congress experts $175k per year bc they are experts, this lady is a master, she deserves 200$k!
Those people are all dead so you don't have to worry.
Lol love the product but a lot of wishy washy artist/hipster buzz words coming out of her mouth like word vomit lmaooooo
Plate looks like dog plate
KFC is good
They look like dog bowls
I really dislike her pottery. It's ugly poorly thrown and the glazes come across as pretentious. More power to anyone doing their thing, just isn't mine.
Making rich people fool and waist of money
Frankly the brown glaze looks like spread poo
The Japanese craftsman do it way better
