    Rather than the gas station, I think the Rusty Rifle bar is better. It has a nice parking lot for your vehicles and puts you further away from the main road/wandering zeds. You're still only 2 blocks away from the gas station and are even closer to the nearby warehouse. One block south is woodlands so you can trap rabbits (I stop to collect and rebait every time I get gas). The bar has a second floor already built so you knock out the stairs and you have a safe location.

    • @bladiuss
      @bladiuss  Před rokem +2

      RR Bar is certainly a solid choice, no doubt about it! Some might even argue that it's on par with the gas station. Personally, if I were planning to settle down in the city and establish a base, I'd highly recommend the bar. It's a great spot to hunker down and stay grounded. However, if your goal is to use Mauldraugh as a pit stop for looting other cities, then the gas station is definitely the way to go! It offers convenience and easy access to the essentials. So, it ultimately depends on your game plan and what you're looking to achieve in your survival journey!

  • @TheHanzzou

    Surviving in the gated community in the first week can be pretty tough because of the helicopter event it draws a ridiculous ammount of zeds into the neighbourhood i blocked 2 entrances and they tore it down just pursuing the helicopter everytime i jumped a fence to another houseyard i had to face a different group of zombies till it formed one big horde

    • @bladiuss
      @bladiuss  Před rokem +5

      I believe the most effective way to handle the helicopter event is to completely avoid it by vacating your base for the entire day. By staying away from your base during that time, you can significantly reduce the risk and potential consequences. Safety first, my friend!

    One of my favorite spots in general is the bar in Muldraugh, more specifically the apartment attached to it. Only one entrance, plenty of windows to escape through, short drive from the more dense parts of town but not too close, and if you have a sledgehammer you can make it impossible for zombies to get in.

    My goto base for the past 10+ years has always been the lone cabin in s mul just south of the lake. I like it as it is secluded, most servers have urban focused zombos, so its perfectlly zombie free, and as a bonus, most noobs dont even realize the woods are safe, so they tend to stay out of them. Being out in the woods has its advantages, it keeps you fit going in and out of them, provided you take outdoorsman so as not to tear urself up. Its not too far from town proper, and also close to the aformentiined lake. Plenty of woods for .....wood, and foraging/trapping. And, if you know what i know, you can easily drive in and out of there, whereas most wouldnt even try, thus keeping vehicles safe. (If theres no protections enabled that is) and, the whole "upstairs" can easily be hidden from the outside, with plenty of room for 30 crates depending on how you set it up. Love my home in s muldraugh 😊

    I really like the south warehouses! Just around the corner from the gas station and bar, and you can easily walk through the forest to get to the police station and back entrance of the bookstore. There are a lot of zombies behind the store though, esp with 2x or more pop. The mass genfac up north is my favorite, as the layout is perfect but the south warehouse is in a better location IMO. Plus the second building there has tons of metal shelving which is nice for organization. Great video!

    • @bladiuss
      @bladiuss  Před rokem

      Thanks a ton, my friend! Your support means a lot to me. I gotta say, I absolutely love playing in the Mass-Genfac warehouse. It's a fantastic spot that can provide almost everything you need to survive. As for the warehouses down south, I haven't played there personally, but I've looted both buildings before. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the one that has stairs. Not only does it have two stories, but it also has fewer entry points, which makes it easier to defend and gives you some peace of mind!

  • @dariuspemula
    @dariuspemula Před rokem +2

    For me, I'll just gate off the 4 entrances to the gated community to make a massive secure location. Then I pick the house that's exactly in the middle of the community so my generator sound won't attract nearby zombies' attention (especially the ones wandering around the woodland area).

    • @bladiuss
      @bladiuss  Před rokem +2

      That's a really smart strategy you've got going on there. I've actually heard that you can reduce the sound radius of a generator by placing it on upper levels. I'm not entirely sure if that works, but if it does, it could be a lifesaver in situations where you don't have many base options to choose from.

    • @dariuspemula
      @dariuspemula Před rokem

      @@bladiuss I've heard conflicting information about that one. Some said elevation doesn't matter, some others said higher elevation means lesser sound radius. That's why I always picked that kind of setup just to be safe.

      @bladiuss  Před rokem +2

      Mauldraugh is not the most difficult city, but it's also not the easiest. That's probably one of the reasons why so many people settle there. One useful tip to keep in mind is that you can open locked doors if you have the key in your inventory. Most keys can be obtained by killing a zombie inside the house or building you are interested in. For example, if you want to obtain a key to open a garage door in a storage facility, try killing zombies in one of the storage rooms that are accessible. This increases the chance of finding the key. Alternatively, you could just simply break down the door with an axe or sledgehammer.

      @@bladiuss full story of how i picked it, i spawned in the Muldraugh caravan park area, this was like my 14 try at the game since i kept dying really quickly, i tried breaking into the nearby model but the noise attracted a lot of zombies to me, so i picked a direction and ran. luck i am going to say made me chose south down that small path made of sand. when i got to the collection of 1 story houses i opened a window to go inside one but it set off an alarm so i kept running south, by chance i think because i was running down the backside of the buildings i came upon Cortman Medical, thinking it might be safe i tried the house at the far end of that block, it set off another alarm and i hid inside Cortman Medical, watching from inside i waited out the horde leaving the gated community and i ran inside, wanting to be far away from the Horde i ran to the far end based on where Cortman Medical was, i was planning on going further but i saw the shed as i was passing and decided to stop, i found two boxes of nails and a hammer, so i ran inside the building next to it, 30 minutes IRL time later and a lot of broken furniture i secured the house, about a day later IRL time i had built my first water catcher just in time for some rain, one big mistake later drinking from it i was creating a new character but was determined to not let all my hard work finally surviving go to waste rather then stating over on a fresh save i thought i would see if i could make my way back there, so when i realized i had spawned in the house right next to the convince store just above the gated community i took it as a sign that i should build there, so about 100 play hours later and a few resets due to dying a month or two in i am still using that same house and after a few close calls on my latest character when trying to learn guns i am almost at my first winter

Except there’s snow everywhere. As for town access I just used an axe to make a tunnel through the woods to the Genco Warehouse at the edge of town. A base location should be a place where a player or group of players STARTS a game with low skills. You are showing rain barrels requiering lvl7 carpentry or a Sledgehammer which is a very rare find.
