“Rey Mysterio beat Eddie Guerrero in ladder match for custody of Dominik. Just like the Disney films.” That line is gold.
2005 has to be one of the greatest years WWE ever had. So many new stars rising to the top, and so many good matches. If only they were as good now as they were back then. What a shame. And still very sad about Eddie’s death. He was still young and so many dream matches will remain dreams. Wonder what would’ve happened if he never past. RIP to an absolute legend 💔
Compared to What? The no selling choreographed bullshit? Dude a great match is when you tell a story in the ring, the movés doesn't Matter. If you thought the matches were great don't be ashamed of It just becuase the current wrestling fanbase is full of mentally retarded losers
Leandro Franca well it’s definitely better than a lot of what’s happening in WWE today, you have to admit that
Telling a story in the ring? You mean stuff like Kane fighting Matt Hardy for the right to marry Lita? Or Randy Orton being haunted by the Undertaker because he murdered him at the last PPV? Or having a ladder match for the custody of a child? Or a bra & panties match to determine who the real skank is? Tell a story? Tell a story?!! "Ow, my arm hurts. Let's do restholds for 20 minutes" Go watch a soap opera if you want a story.
@@atticus5106 go to watch Circus so leile if you wanna watch no charismatic acrobats. Your strong Style crap is just actors paralyzing each other for no reason
@@leandrofranca5943 stfu man why are you so fkin toxic ._. we have own opinions
Ah the Mid-2000's: *Where everybody and their mum were called Chris!*
His last year had me tuned in every single week, Eddie was a true legend between the ropes
Whenever I watch an Eddie match from 2005 I legit choke up
Ecw 2005 was a no brainer. The crowd alone is enough to give you chills
I can't wait for "Every 1947 Pay Per View Ranked"
Holy shit HAHAHA
@@thedoctor3528 **faint wooooshing noise**
Really?
My favourite wrestler was GOOD 'OL GERTRUDE SPINTHERFUTH and his ATOMIC HEADLOCK finisher...
I'm just waiting for Churchill vs. Hitler from 1940 to 1945 (Six times in a lifetime) with everyone else on the planet taking turns as special guest referee.
Wait, they managed to talk about ECW one night stand and didnt even mention JBL beating up the Blue Meanie!!!
Impossible
I was waiting for it 😂
@@gandalfthegrey7135 Perhaps the archives are incomplete?
Its propbably because its been spoke about so many times before
P0cket Rcket that’s the joke
2005 was my childhood, WWE was so good back then
Burns Wildcat boomer
@@M1CHA3L22 boomer generation (baby boomers) consists of people born from 1946 to 1964. Therefore, wrong!
@@brianburnswildcat same. I turned 10 unfortunately, the day before Eddie Guerrero died. But other than that...I Got my first PS2. With it came SmackDown ! Shut Your Mouth, Here Comes The Pain, SmackDOWN VS. RAW, Tekken 4, Tag & 5. New action figures every other Saturday. I got Smackdown VS. RAW 2006 for Christmas.
Nickelodeon, Disney Channel & Cartoon Network were fire. The music was amazing.
2005 was a good year for building new talent. Edge, cena, batista, ray. All top stars since 2005
ECW: One Night Stand 2005 is easily in my top 5 PPVs of ALL time!
I started watching wwe in 2004 but I mostly remember all the feuds and events in 2005
My favorite year! The best rivalries! And remember John Cena, Batista, edge, undertaker were the Mvp’s
Don’t forget my boy Randy Orton
2005 had a stacked roster
@@M1CHA3L22 ist eßsseeees in
Something that wasn't mentioned. Vengeance was Triple H's first ever 1 on 1 loss in Hell in a Cell.
That Randy Orton concussion on Royal Rumble 05 caused him to become the psychotic viper years later. That's continuity for you
I'm still surprised they haven't brought back Taboo Tuesday/Cyber Sunday, being deep in the era of the internet.
The whole Dust/Vader thing was bad from the beginning. They had their moment, gassed, and then Vader ate shit leaving the ring. They should have dropped the whole story or at the very least grabbed a more athletic Attitude Era wrestler to face Batista.
Great Cena rap album reference.
Wasn't that event with Orton and Taker the one where Bob Orton bled on the both of them only to reveal later that he had Hep B?
Hardy vs Edge should have been the major selling point of Unforgiven.
Wrestling fans have a tendency to not be the most accepting people in the world, especially back then.
Edge's take on the Royal Rumble was hysterical. Puder got receipts for trying to legit submit Angle during his show appearance.
These ranking vids are my absolute favourites. God bless you, Dr. Heine.

Although MIke Awesome v. Masato Tanaka was their usual gloriously brutal encounter at ONS, my favorite part of the match is Joey Styles going off on Awesome for leaving the company for WCW while still champion in March of 2000.
I got really annoyed by how they treated Maven in New Years Revolution.
Why have him be number 1 contender for the Intercontinental title if it was gonna just be a promo?
Maven was a solid talent.
@LoneStarHawaii yes.
Yes it isnt.
At this rate we will go back to every WWE golden era PPV ranked
My top 5 would be WM 21, ECW ONS, Vengeance, SummerSlam & Survivor Series (in no particular order)
ECW 05 was the best show of the year omg the shoot promo lol
2005 was when wrestling became a weekly thing for me, been going strong since
The best animosity of the year was rivalry Batista vs Triple H
The year I started watching wwe (August)
My favourite ppvs
Royal rumble
Wrestlemania
Judgement day
Vengeance
Ecw one night stand
Summerslam
No mercy
Survivor series
Armageddon
My favorite year of life...PERIOD. WWE 2005 was the shit.
I just realized ‘05 was the first year I watched wrestling again since the WWF/WWE rename
I'm so glad Vengeance was so high on the list. That show had a very strong card for a B show, and the show definitely delivered. It's well worth a watch.
Best year for WWE
Wrestlemania 21 was clearly the best show of the year.
True.
10:07
Love the reference to Cena's theme song.
After seeing this list for the next video Adam should be forced to watch & rank every televised Heidenreich match (TV & PPVs)
Thanks for doing this! Enjoy watching all of these videos
Vengeance 05 will always be one of my favourites
Looking back, SummerSlam 05 was a really strange PPV. It had the infamous HBK/Hogan oversell match, 13 second opener, the first signs of SuperCena and the custody of a child was on the line in a ladder match. One of the best bad PPVs in WWE history.
2005 is the goat 🐐 year for wwe john cena and batista rose up to stardom ,the draft changed wwe landscape for the next 10years, the epic fued between Eddie and rey ,the legendary fued between orton and taker ,r.ip eddie (biggest tragedy in wwe 😓🕊), smackdown vs raw at survivor series, muhhamad hassans undefeated streak and 7/7 incident, christian shouldve had hes run/push like i miss 2005 its the best year wwe had in morden history. 😊
One night stand, mania 21, Summerslam, vegence. My god those were some banger ppv’s.
What sadly underlined this year for me was Eddie's death... He was my favorite wrestler and being 8 years old when it happened, it was hard to understand because. Well. I had just seen him that last Friday on Smackdown. No lie, I thought Kennedy killed him at first because I didn't understand kayfabe then
I was 9 & was just so confused by it all. Espiecally because he was being a total prick w/ Rey & he was so visibly upset. Weird times.
I couldnt believe it at the time i was in year 5
I love how everyone thinks both Cena and Batista’s feet hit floor at the same time when clearly batista’s feet hit the floor and 1of cena’s hit the floor while the other landed on Batista before hitting the floor
In my personal opinion, Vengeance was the best PPV of 2005. The reason being: a stacked undercard, a 5* classic between Kurt and Shawn and a great hell in a cell match. I'd rate Vengeance 9/10 personally.
Thst Edge vs Benoit match at Backlash probably helped worsen Benoit's head...
*SLAP*
helluva video Joey.
This is my full time watching WWE. I started watching WWE in august 2004. ECW One night stand, Summerslam and Survivor Series were still be my all time favorites from 2005.
Idk why but Watching Shawn just Oversell Hogans moves just makes me laugh.
Did you know JBL beat the Blue Meanie for real at One Night Stand 2005?
no
You forgot the Blue Meanie getting bloodied by JBL
Slightly unfair to SmackDown, I’d have Unforgiven and Taboo Tuesday as worse than Armageddon or No Mercy. And NYR was made worse at the time because the title was vacated from Triple H, only for Triple H to win it back
Yeah, that was really stupid.
I think Triple H should've never lost it to begin with if he was gonna drop it for good to Batista. But highlight's 2020
This man said “smack my ass and call me joey” 😂😂😂
Why that pic of Rey with all the guys look like Kurt angle in a mask?😂
Now do 04! Thank you, love the video!
One of the darkest days from WWE in 2005 was Eddie passing away in November 13th.
2005 was still the best year.
The description says 2006 instead of 2005.
good video but you forgot to mention that DID YOU KNOW THAT JBL SMACKED UP BLUE MEANIE FOR REALSIES. Gripping stuff I hear for the first time every time
4th row camera side was absolutely amazing for unforgiven 05
Cena v jbl I quit match is still to this day my favorite i quit match.
Same here, it is so satisfying to watch
Just as i'm looking for something to watch while i eat lunch, Cultaholic brings the Wood!!
That was when I started watching full time.
This is my 1st full year as a fan
I was at unforgiven and the cage match was awesome. Still to this day the only wwe ppv held in Oklahoma
I thought Luther Reigns vs Taker was alright.
The year i was born
Idk if it’s been done yet but, please rank every Monday Night RAW special celebrity guest host from worst to best
GOD 2005 WAS SO FUCKING UNDERRATED
Good lord, it is insane how different WWE was in 2005.
The 3 second tan. I love it
One Night Stand literally stood the test of time and is a timeless classic.
Wrestlemania 21 and Survivor Series were my favorites
2005 was one of the greatest WWE years of my life. Cena and Batista were given the big pushes to reach new heights by winning world championships at WM 21, Batista and HHH's feud, Edge and Matt Hardy's feud when Lita starts her relationship with Edge and ends his relationship with Matt Hardy, HBK and Kurt Angle put on Banger matches, Randy Orton starts his feud with The Undertaker, and so many great PPVs, etc. Yet the darkest day was Eddie Guerrero died in November 13th.
One of my favorite years ever.
If I recall correctly, Undertaker wanted to job to JBL to help legitimize him as champion but Bradshaw wanted to look as weasely as possible.
This was the year Jack was born!
C'mon Pacitti, everyone knows that the lyric is "LAY yo ass down for the three second tap"
I was at Vengeance 2005. I can confirm that, in fact, it was pretty good.
The fact Cena and Batista both won in Hollywood then ended up there is really cool
Puder got hazed because of the incident with Kurt Angle and because he also had a bad attitude backstage and rubbed the locker room the wrong way.
I don’t know if y’all have done it yet. But rank every Shawn Michaels WM match
2005 was a great year to be a wrestling fan. I wouldnt say it was as good as say 2007 and 2008 were from an in ring stand point and consistency for wwe but overall the number of great feuds and great matches that year really helped to define it.
2007 was terrible. It started out very well but ended up extremely bad with the Benoit tragedy and got worser and worser. The PPV quality, championship reigns and weekly shows sucked too. 2008 I can agree with though. Underapprciated year.
@dmercy8477 I thought 07 was overall still great. Yh the summer was hard to get thru what with benoit , multiple injuries and Khali being champ at one point but overall by September things got back to normal . Most PPVs were pretty damn good too. Once again there were one or 2 letdowns like summerslam and unforgiven but overall all the others were either great or at the very least solid.
I’d pay some amount of money for one of those gold Royal Rumble ring aprons
Hell yes I’m early for once!
2005 was one of my favorite wrestling years to be a big wrestling fan when WWE was actually watchable.
Can’t wait for 2002-2004
Please don't say"green as goose poo" ever again 2020 has been tough enough
Here are my worst to best rankings for the PPVs by brand (I do not count ECW One Night Stand in this list). Raw: Taboo Tuesday, New Year's Revolution, Backlash, Unforgiven, Vengeance. SmackDown!: The Great American Bash, Armageddon, No Mercy, No Way Out, Judgment Day. The Big Four: Survivor Series, SummerSlam, WrestleMania 21, Royal Rumble. What do you think?
Hey Adam did you know JBL beat up The Blue Meanie at One Night Stand? Not a lot of people know about it and you didn’t mention it so I thought you might have forgot about it ;)
Wait... One Night Stand was mentioned without the real fight between JBL and the Blue Meanie being referenced?
This list is hereby null and void
Wel-come Back! Wel-come Back!
I remember being in 8th grade in 2005 always wishing to be able to watch ppv's

2005 always will be the best year of WWE
It was good, but I wouldn't say all that lol.
It is better than the modern era, but it is definitely not better than years like 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, and 2002.
Wow, this list is so stupid..... WM 21 is easily the best PPV of the year. Michaels vs Angle and Money in the Bank was the matches of the year and they were on one PPV.... Two brand new main eventers in Batista and Cena.... the start of the streak ( or people trying to break it).
June 2005 was probably the best month the company had when it came to ppv quality. 2 A+ shows.
good video
Wrestlemania 21 was the best ppv of the year. Not because it's Wrestlemania, but it has been one of the best Wrestlemania ever. Vengeance was just a step below. I want to know if someone really thinks One Night Stand was the best. Meh.
Wrestlemania 21 was the best show of 2005.
It’s amazing how good ric flair was. His matches that were not up to snuff is still better then most. That’s what selling does Instead of flips

I feel so awful for Matt Hardy in 2005. Poor guy’s life must have been horrible.
05 was the shit omg
