Iâm here sobbing because of how much positive energy and traction Sam is getting here, Iâve loved him for the longest time (Iâve even met him and he is the sweetest man alive) and Iâm so SO proud to have an entry that we can really get behind and seems to be turning a corner for us! I really hope this changes the UKâs attitude for the long term now.

Definitely one of the greatest takes of you guys. There are several things I noticed here:
1) The fact that BOTH of you, yes even Deban, REALLY feeling this one showing there's enthusiasm on both sides of the coin
2) The fact you acknowledged the negative comments but still gave CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.
3) The fact you could see tears almost about to fall from William's eyes at one point near the start of the video, showing that after many battles lost here in the UK it's still possible to send a good entry!
I'm so hopeful for us this year. I believe with the right staging we can get a top 15 or even top 10 finish. I really do. This guy can sing live, i've seen it from him. We should be proud this year!
Juries are told to vote on vocal ability over anything else. I see us getting top 5 with the juries if not winning the jury vote. Exciting times ahead for the đŹđ§.

My take on it was that he's saying that when you go looking for answers, often you find nothing. A lot of us go through depression and emptiness and we long to find a way out of it, assuming that escapism is a way of dealing with it, but when we get there, we often find nothing but emptiness. We all long to go 'home' because home is an important place where we feel cosy, safe, secure and we can be ourselves. We all long for these things.
I love this song. His incredible vocal doesn't make this a sad song, even if there is a tone of melancholy to the lyrics, he sings in such an uplifting manner, giving so much raw power which gives the whole package energy. So much so that you don't even realise that its over before it starts! It's so enjoyable.
Good luck to Sam....I appreciate that he's put himself in the firing line and believing in himself enough to take on the mantle for the UK.

I have to watch this reaction again on the eve of this year's UK song reveal. Sam Ryder for me will be unsurpassed as the best UK artist in the modern era of Eurovision. And the Spaceman will be the most memorable.

I'm so excited for Eurovision 2022. It will be the first time since 2011 that I'll be watching hoping for a great result. We all know juries go for vocals above anything else and Sam's vocals are amazing. I think we have potential to come Top 5 with the juries if not win the jury vote and I've not said that for years. Was anyone expecting North Mecedonia to win the jury vote in 2019? No way. Listen, I'm excited. We definitely will not get bottom 5 this year.

Strongest UK entry in years period!!! Real Elton John, Ziggy Stardust & a bit of Marc Bolan vibe IMO & very endearing British feel to this song with a very heartwarming video which had the Brit humour but also moving at the same time, quality entry UK!

Finally we send a song that actually sounds British, both current but with a nostalgic nod to the Beatles, Bowie etc. This I'm sure will FINALLY silence the ridiculous 'europe hates us' nonsense by scoring us a good result. We aren't hated, we just send absolute rubbish and Europe expects better. Well done Sam! X

I wish it was Tiny Roit or More.. I love those songs - not so much this one - I really like him, but live is not as great as the studio cut and I really like the gritty part of his voice best.
I was waiting for you, guys. William I feel exactly like you. This is excellent beyond UK. This is excellent music. It's a little Elton, a little Bowie, EXTREMELY British and it has some weird grunge vibes, but more emotional than frustrated (even the video reminds me a little of Blackhole Sun by Soundgarden). Sam is just perfect. I didn't know him and I'm literally about to enter TikTok just for him.

After a few listens I love it. It has a great hook and the BBC performance Sam did this week was wonderful. His vocals were on point and he moved around with ease and confidence. The team behind selecting this entry have really thought about the mistakes in the past and have gone for it. Whatever happens Sam is a very talented artist and we can all be very proud of him. I feel like the message of the song is that we aim for higher things and once we get there we realise there isnât actually much there and itâs not as great as we thought it was and how the things we want we already had and how itâs time to go back to that.

Elton John (Rocket Man) and David Bowie (Space Oddity) must have been the inspirations for "Space Man", and gives a subconscious familiarity to this song, yet this feels fresh and clever.
