- We filmed our reaction to the Eurovision 2021 results as the televote points were announced. Italy's Måneskin finished on top of the televote, catapulting them past the jury winner - Switzerland's Gjon's Tears.

I agree. I wish all the countries just sang in their original language. They seem to think that singing in English will give them more success but it’s just not true

@@JulOverHeaven They didn't, imo. The song was so overrated and overhyped, I couldn't see why it would get that many points from jury. Too similiar to Netta and televoters have already seen that so they didn't vote, I think. Just my opinion though.

When you think France and Switzerland took all the public votes but it was really Ukraine and Finland (aside from Italy)
Well Ukraine receive 267 ponts from televote (2nd behind italy), France 251 points (3rd) and then Finland (4th 218 points) and switzerland 165 points (tie sixth).
So France did take a lot of points too.
And has a french it was unexpected for me x)
I was scared of like a 0 point.
@@squall545 countries were getting zeroes left and right. Some early favorites didn't even go beyond 100 points. Malta, San Marino, Cyprus, Bulgaria bombed. This is the most unpredictable ESC results in a long time.

The Greeks did not celebrate because they passed Bulgaria, guys. They celebrated because Stefania got up to the 10th place. It was almost a decade ago that they have reached such a high place.
And the anticipation was high just because they got the same score with Bulgaria.

UK coming last for the second time in a row and Germany recieving another 0 points. In fact 4 bottom countries received 0 points blew my mind. This voting was intense.

About greeks cheering that was not rude. They were happy because Greece managed to stay at top ten after a long time. There was no bad intention against Bulgaria, it just happened to be the next country on the table. Greeks are always loud.😂😘

Yeah almost everyone from the Greek press (except our national broadcaster ofc) was ridiculing our entry because of its poor staging and technical issues and were pandering Cyprus, so for us to come top 10 and beat Cyprus is a huge slap in the face to them, ERT was the only one that supported Stefania and gave her the green light to return this year so obviously they would be pleased.
Love Greece this year - deserved top 10. And what a better way to demonstrate good neighbourly relations than to stand side by side with your neighbour on the scoreboard. Big hugs from Bulgaria 🇧🇬

- The winners are young and have huge potential
- Plenty of great careers will clearly come out of this edition (Gjon's Tears, Barbara Pravi, Destiny, Dadi Freyr, etc.)

I was surprised because danish jury gave 0 points to Italy (if I'm not wrong) zero! to a beautiful performance of a cool half danish bassist (when your country ever votes to Iceland or Sweden)

the four 0 points in a row really told me that we would be getting a HIGH winner number from the televote , but that both rock songs would land that high up (both in top 5 in the televote) is insane to me . so insanely happy for both of them !
Ukraine took 1st place in the voting by the press and 2nd place in the voting by TV viewers! Another interesting fact - representatives of the jury of all Slavic and Balkan countries gave Ukraine ZERO points.

I'm over the moon for Blind Channel, 6th place is the second best position for Finland after Lordi. I would have wanted to see them in the top of course but this is good too. I was rooting for Ukraine along side of Finland and they did well too. I'm HAPPY!! Good Luck Måneskin!

Completely agree. So many low scores - 4 nul points IN A ROW and many popular songs among the fandom did shockingly bad, eg. San Marino and Malta. So bizarre.
It's more accurate to say that it was the most bizarre jury vote. Juries loved ballads for some reason and dismissed the other genres.

Bulgaria gave 12 to Moldova as they give them 12, Moldova gave 10 to Greece as they give them 10. Cyprus, Serbia, N. Macedonia, Romania, Malta, Cyprus, Albania etc if you searched their votes, both jury and televotes are in correspondence to each other in a way 😅😂....You may think Greece and Cyprus are in some weird job alone just because this practise is old and people notice it, but is actually way bigger....we are all together in this in this side of Europe. We play together.

Italy wasn't my personal favourite, but I don't mind that it won. The song was professional in composition and performance. I was rooting for Switzerland and Ukraine, but there were probably at least ten songs I think were worthy of victory. Zero points were so unfortunate, but this was such a strong year. On an average ESC year, I think everyone would have received many more points. But at least, the winner was clear. And Finland had our second best result ever.
Finland, Ukraine and Switzerland were amazing and u can be proud of them just like how i am for making the top 10 of such a strong year ❤️💪

I also was going to be happy if just one of my favorites got in the top 10 and at the end 4/5 of them got to the top 5, soooo happy. Also happy that 4/5 songs were sang in native languages from each country. Diversity is what I like

Although I was not a great fan of the green screen effects, i always thought that Stefania is a smashing talented star - great performance and vocals. She made us Greeks all around the world so proud!!! 🙏🏻💙🇬🇷

@@val.teacup Greece and Bulgaria basically share the 10th spot, but Greece got more televotes so they got 10th place and not 11th. So they had every reason to celebrate reaching top 10
I find it weird that the Big 5+Host were both the bottom 4 and the top 2
Spain, Germany and UK have zero excuses. France and Italy came 2 and 1 in the final, both of them top 5 in both the jury and televote. It isn't some disadvantage, you just don't send good enough quality consistently. Italy has been the most consistent country of the last decade and have been rewarded with a win. France has also been quite consistent and have been given 2nd place. I think they should be proud.
I actually agree but hnestly, to me Spain was robbed- I mean, he had a beautiful song with an amazing, emotional voice and yeah, it apparently wasn't as good as other songs this year but at least the juries could've appreciated the quality of music! And I'm not even from Spain, but this is just plain unfair, I don't get it

I get the impression just from just listening to these three countries songs that they don't take Eurovision that seriously. They play it too safe too often, then expect different results. You can tell which countries come to play and which ones are just keeping up appearances. @@skoprivlenski If that seemed rude than you can say the same for Italy being happy when Switzerland got less points than them. Greece didn't celebrate the fact that Bulgaria got less points, they celebrated that they finished in the top 10.
After the 4 zeros I couldn't believe the San Marino and Malta public scores. Craziest voting sequence since they introduced the new scoring system.
I prefer this way... it is less predictable, and the first place changes all the time

@Matilda Kaminska it was the running order definitely. In the semi they performed last and came 2nd in the televote after Ukraine, in the final they performed 6th and got over 100 less televote points from the public
Greece celebrated cuz Stefania´s objective/goal was top 10. Bulgaria drew with them on points which meant Greece had more televote and therefor finished above Bulgaria. That meant that a spot lower than 10th for Greece was impossible, and therefor they got the top 10 they wanted.

I was cheering for ITALY and I literally was screaming waiting impatiently to the winner announcement!! I was like ITALY, ITALY, ITALY!!!
European jury really didn't want Ukraine to come even close to hosting a next Eurovision, did they? People were basically fighting politics giving them 267 points (jury -97) . Which made Ukraine a second viewers' choice.
Ukraine isn't the one who got treated like this today. Finland (218-people, 83-jury), Lithuania (165 people, 83- jury) with incredible performances, despite of completely different genres!!!
What does it show? A complete incompetence, ignorance and "out of touch"-ness of European jury.
And its just laughable how some countries exchanged their 12 points. Not gonna point who. We all know. They call them professional independent jury? Wtf? And its not the first time today. All these years.
How about we cancel these politically minded jury for this amazing show. They ruin everything.

@@joelfernandes6865 to me Bulgaria didn't stand out. It was cute and personal. But it couldn't compete. I loved belgian one very much and personally voted for them and Italy. The problem with Belgian song is that its really not for everybody. I'm just a huge fan of their music and everything alike (massive attack, portishead etc.) The audience is just very limited for trip-hop music and bands. After being tired of quarantining, sitting at home and then listening to Italy we found ourselves at the rock concert and then listening to Ukraine - at the rave party. It just tells that this is what we need now.

Ukraine took 1st place in the voting by the press and 2nd place in the voting by TV viewers! Another interesting fact - representatives of the jury of all Slavic and Balkan countries gave Ukraine ZERO points.
Ikr! Lithuania got 160 televote points which is just as much as Switzerland, but since they weren't favored by the juries from the beginning, they were so low for so long and countries like Malta who only got 46 televote points got to enjoy the spotlight.

I think San Marino is probably one of those countries that's fifth or so for a lot of people. I think many people like it, but just not enough to vote for it. That's how it is for me anyway.

San Marino is one of the smallest countries in Europe... And it's in the middle Italy. The song was also in English... one of a baddest things for a country. If you are Italian you must sing in Italian if not, for me, you are English... . My personal opinion as Italian 😅

I just wanna say that greeks were not screaming because Bulgaria was down from them,but because thanks to that they remained to top 10 after so many years. Greece had to be in the top 10 from 2006 , so it was a personal win for them. FOR US 💖
