Our boy Sam! Steven, you should check out the Eurovision 2023 entries because, YOU can vote this year!! There's going to be an online vote for all countries outside Europe to vote for the first time!
Sam is a phenomenal, charismatic singer, saw him live recently and he can most definitely play the guitar riffs and his voice is awesome.
Some of the rock acts this year are definitely ones you HAVE TO react to.

You should react to Joker out. They are a band representing Slovenia this year at Eurovision. You would like them, they are so charismatic. The song is Carpe Diem and the live version rocks!

To avoid the logistical nightmares of rigging live instruments for 26+ Acts with 0 Technical issues within the 2 hours or so it takes to get through the show, the instruments used on stage are not live however I believe in most cases when the act uses an Instrument in their performance, it is them playing on the backing track. It's one of those 'suspension of disbelief' moments that Eurovision accepts for when you have a 5 Piece rock band and know that only the Singer's mic is actually doing anything.
I would also recommend his performance of mountain at the interval act of this year’s competition. Like you said, his energy is nucking futs.

Sam Ryder came second last year in Eurovision with this. Ukraine came first. As Ukraine can not host it this year, the second place country gets the title of holding it, so this year it’s in Liverpool United kingdom on behalf of Ukraine.

He did win! We all know that Ukraine was not a winner this year, just a political statement.

yeah he is an amazing vocalist - but he isnt actually playing the guitar
And still- it didn't win for political reasons- i really disliked ukraine for this! the ESC should stop using entries for political statements once and for all. its just not fair for amazing artists who deserve better.
