I am a vocalist and received my degrees in music. I discovered Billie and Finneas in musical school and the minute I heard Ocean Eyes I was blown away. I have been telling people for years how much her voice will grown with each new album. And she's not even done growing.

You are everything. I feel you!!!!! Life ain't the same after the debut of this album.

OBSESSED W THIS ALBUM some notes that i wanted to point out and don’t know if you caught! 1. i believe wildflower is about her ex’s (jesse) ex (devon). she and devon were friends first but then billie got w jesse herself, hence the line “did i cross the line?” and “you say no one knows you so well, but everytime you touch me i just wonder how she felt.” 2. near the end of la’mour de la vie, i believe she rekindled her friendship w devon and was talking to her about her relationship w jesse. (“wanna know what i told her, w her hand on my shoulder? you were so mediocre, and we’re so glad it’s over now”) 3. the diner is actually written from her old stalker’s pov!! so super sucky storyline but this is one of my favs from the album tbh (and the number she whispers at the end is her community number, so all safe lmaooo) 4. i think i saw a few comments about this but blue’s chorus is from one of billie’s super old unreleased songs “true blue”! so “blue” is just a reimagined version w her more mature voice! (which the end of bittersuite includes the instrumental version of so you can bet i freaked out when i first heard that). lastly, i saw a fan theory on twitter about this so idk how true it is, but someone said part of blue is about a stillborn birth. “you were born bluer than a butterfly. beautiful and so deprived of oxygen. colder than your fathers eyes […] you were born reaching for your mother’s hands.” again, idk how true it is but music is, of course, up for interpretation and going w this just hits so much harder for me

im not a billie fan and i’ve barely heard her music but my best friend is a fan and i heard a bit of Skinny and i was curious so i listened to the full album and i have to say this is incredible. So much emotion and the vocals are amazing

My first impression of Birds on a cloud was about it being about his daughter and not having her full time (I think they have shared custody but not sure?). The way his whole being lights up when he speaks about her is amazing and I could def see how his days are a bit more grey when she's not around.
