Ferrari this year is trying to prove that this Red color dominance theory is Wrong
The Nature article says that wearing red is "consistently associated with a higher probability of winning", not necessarily that they always come out on top. The theory isn't completely wrong.
if the theory is correct, then the only way ferrari finally wins another championship is that they have to strip all the other colours, even the sponsor and number and make the car totally all-red, then they could finally won the championshipđ
Looolll
đ
Man united too xD
I mean, Real has won the most UCLs wearing white and Milan always wears white in UCL and they have been extremely successful in the past.
Chelsea have also won it twice while their two cross town rivals who play in red and white respectively have precisely zero between them
@@danielwarren3138 well thatâs arsenal and spurs for you, they are exceptionally good in being unsuccessful.
Kind of defeats their argument when Madrid and Milan have won 20 (or is it 21) European Cups between them (in the 65 years of the competition). I'm sure if you did a break down of teams winning the EC and their kit, I'd imagine maybe 50/60% (maximum) of the teams have worn red.
That's to be expected because, like the video says, many other factors are more important than color, which only gives a very narrow advantage.
@@KageanRage why even discuss it in the first place then?! Would have been just better to discuss players teeth or sth
Dear admin of Athletic Interest, can you please make a video about current situation in FC Barcelona? Some sources say that they running out of money and a lot of debt, but they could afford many players like Lewandowski, Kessie, Kounde, Christensen, Raphinha, and others

Iâm guessing seeing you opponent wearing blue has an effect as well. Blue is associated with peace or calmness so maybe it helps an athlete stay composed ?
This reminds me of the Scrubs episode where the âscaryâ janitor dressed up in baby blue and everyone was smiling seeing him in that uniform haha

Logic goes out the window in Madrid đ€Ł the team wearing Red just can't seem to get outta their ruts đ
That said, you've convinced me to choose red in every video game ever from now on.
I'd love to see a video about Brazilian League, and why despite constantly selling players to big clubs, our tournaments aren't seen as important as others are.
For reals, Neymar is one of them but Brazil and the Brazilian legue is always making legends and top performance players
JĂŒrgen Klinsmann wanted Germany to play in red, cause he believed that red kit will give his team a psychological edge. Germany wore the red jersey for the first time in the 2005 Confederations Cup game against Argentina !

Thank you so much Athletic Interest team, not only for the previous videos or the present ones, but for all the wondrous content you're creating in the future. MĂĄs contenido de este calibre se necesita de este lado del charco.
When I was a goalie in field hockey I actually saw a difference because of colour. When a striker is running up to you and tries to shoot at goal, he looks at you through the corner of his eye, when you wear a blue suit as a goalie, you basically disappear into the background which are often cold colours, however, when you wear a red suit, you're a much more noticeable object from the corner of their eyes, which makes them unconsciously shoot directly at that object, meaning the shots are easier to save since they're less likely to go into the corners and more likely to go directly at you.
Beg to differ from the statement of "why red always wins" if you look at international level games irrespective of any sports Yellow and blue are the most dominant from Brazil, France, Argentina in football to Australia, India & England in cricket from Usain Bolt in track and field. Apart from that in the Olympics Australia is always amongst the top 5. In IPL CSK and MI have won the maximum titles. So I feel internationally Yellow and blue are the best.
i think its more correlational than causational - quite a large number of countries wear blue, ( not so much yellow ) but - it's more just a coincidence that the good teams wear blue because of their nationality, but they are also the ones with the best young talent too. They win because they're better, it just so happens that they also wear that colour, (because they're very common country colours).
it really seems only like a small number of teams skewing the results, the study on English football where red won between 1946-2003 was probably solely due to Arsenal, United and Liverpool, also they put the cut off at 2003, right when Chelsea got taken over...
Did u even watch the entire video? He went on to give proof and reasons why the color theory isn't correct
I really really appreciate how you built up the whole video to agree with the premise and then showed, in the last minute, that it was actually doubtful. Very entertaining and it really helps you think about how much to trust the things you hear
Why people have to watch till the end đ

"Red enhances human performance in contest"
Current Arsenal, Man United, Ferrari will like to have a word
How about now arsenal top and united third
4:27 ah, got my answer.
I was wondering about Manchester United throughout the video till that time stamp lol.
So this is what has been holding me back my entire life, blue being my favorite color. Thanks for showing me the way AI :D.
If red is more dominant to perform better, than it explains why Man City won the prem in 2012
hm
Idk maybe because they can still win with blue jersey
So intresting, thanks for the content !
In football, I would say red stands out more on a grass pitch and concrete stadium. It's easier to pick up your own players. On the other hand it's also harder to sneak past an opposing defender.
Well one of their kits this season has red and black so who knows maybe city finally win

Bill Shankly Legendary Liverpool Manager:
"We used to play in white shorts with red stripes, white stockings with red tops and white piping on the jerseys," Shankly said of the uniform change in 1964.
"But we switched to all red and it was fantastic. The introduction of the all-red strip had a huge psychological effect."
Red doesn't enhance performance in any way. -Yours sincerely, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Ferrari fan (tried and tested for past 14 years). Also a Chelsea and Bengaluru FC fan to refute the same.

And harcccb also...
Dear athletic intrest there are always exceptions. In IPL Mumbai Indians most successful team with 5 trophies wear blue and RCB and Punjab kings wear red still not won any trophy
Loved this video! My personal theory is that Asian fans are more attracted to red team shirts, so those clubs will always sell more shirts to Asians. That means a lot more money for those clubs to invest in their teams. Hence, the story of Cardiff City's owner urging the club to ditch its traditional blue shirt for a red shirt.
remember us when you get famous Athetic Interest, love the work you do!!
You're all part of it! đ
Thereâs definitely color bias, however, in my personal opinion itâs just superstition. Look at the 2012 champions league final where the blue team (Chelsea) beat the red team (Bayern Munich).
chelsea built different (no bias)
Because Chelsea is a different breed.
1993 marseille beat ac milan
thats 1 example, doesn't prove nor disprove anything
France beat Croatia
Italy bagged 4 WC
this color theory is plain stupid lmao
For Croatian national team blue shirts are much better since the biggest achievements were in that shirt. For example every knockout match on WC 2018 we have won but as soon as we used home kit we have lost against France
France is blue as well.
I think next to having the right color ribbon for the zebra finches for breeding success, it would be helpful as well that you've got at least one male and one female. Which in this video you don't/mislabeledđ. Still great vid!
This channel is underrated. His voice is so fascinating and goes along well with the video.
A winning combination đ
When he says at the end that the Norwegian speedskating team only changed the colour of their race suits to match their sponsor, I think he's talking Bolaks...
I always noticed how the athletic interest did not like city, in videos where hed talk about money in football city are mentioned more negatively unlike clubs with money from foreign countries, such a great channel its disappointing seeing him pick sides like this
In IPL teams like RCB, Punjab and Delhi are the teams with red jerseys and surprisingly they are the only teams that haven't won the IPL even once đ
In IPL it is the opposite, only three teams have not yet won a title, and all the three have red colour in their jerseyđ
Please make a video about the Oscar Piastri contract situation in Formula 1
Exception to this theory is IPL
As Mumbai Indians (blue ) won 5 title
Where as
Punjab kings , RCB and former Delhi capitals won 0 title yet
The part with the Soccer teams performing better wearing red over white seems to miss a very obvious problem with that assessment. They'd be wearing white in their away games.
There are also two other things that spring to mind as a flaw in all this. Firstly, colour is often decided in part on geography. To use Australia as an example, maroon is a colour associated with Queensland and is more likely to be used in conjunction with Queensland teams, blue is the colour of New South Wales. A sporting team from Brisbane might perform better, because of other factors such as having less local competition for new players, like in the case of the Brisbane Broncos, alternatively Melbourne could easily be at a disadvantage in the same competition because there is far less of a rugby league culture in Victoria, and thus fewer local players to recruit from.
The other factor that springs to mind is that of exceptionalism. If you were to look at the top ten test cricket batsmen of all time from each applicable country, you'd probably find that Australians have a much higher batting average on the overall but, as any cricket fan can tell you, Sir Donald Bradman was so good that he had an average that was over 50% better than his nearest statistical rival. He is an anomaly that means that Australia gets ten and a half batsmen, in a sense, greatly boosting their average. in the case of the soccer clubs, Manchester United and Arsenal would greatly boost Red's success rate because of how prominent they've been at the top of the EPL
Hey atheletic interest can you make a video about the IPL franchises expanding their brand by boughting the teams in different T20 leagues around the world like south africa uae and carrebian and even USA too and a video regarding the buisness model of the IPLđ
I think this is immediately relevant with Manchester United has a new green away kit and they lost 4 - 0 and I think the colour had something to do with their confidence
Interesting! đ
That is why Real Madrid are the greatest Football Club in football history.
That royal, historic, legendary white shirt, that acts as a magnet to new players, is a heavy shirt to wear, but extremely rewarding to the ones who can carry it.
Feel sad for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings despite carrying red since the inception of IPL.
I have done an excellent job in finding your little easter egg :3
This is true and i think we know this subconsciously.
As a child, i always support the red team. Ac Milan and man utd particularly
Yellow white and red are my favorite kit colors, black also works
The first two matches me and my team played ,we wore red and won and the last two matches we player, we wore blue and we lost. It's true. But the story is different for man utd.
Amazing content as usual. But a big dip in the quality of the video
Man! I was laughing when you mentioned Norway's jersey debunking!
Back then i was so mad that United is wearing white and blue during UCL final against Barca in Wembley, afterall its in England and United is entitled to wear home kit
remember Roma final few years behind ? same result, but not against Chelsea and Munchen
Not only the colour, but i think wearing home jersey is also matter
People who follow India's cricket league IPL will know that in its 15 editions each, the most successful team is Mumbai Indians which have blue jersey, and other teams which have a shade of blue have at least 1 title. Only 3 teams have yet to win a title (Delhi, Bangalore, Punjab) and all three have red jerseys.
Also bro yellow dominants cricket
CSK
AUS
Delhi no longer wears red after they were rebranded as Delhi Capitals.
@@amartyapal2959 they have majority red... They only had majority blue for one season
Crazy how many times Iâve thought about this in the past
The example in the thumbnail of Barça's away shirt is false. They played 13 matches, 6 in the neon yellow third kit, and the rest in their dark blue and maroon home to win the UCL
I still kinda believe that you're team plays better with a specific kit, mostly home kit, than with another one
Good thing City has an away shirt featuring red this season đ
You people should research color Yellow,
Astralia Cricket Team won 3 WCs on successions from 1999 to 2007 ,
Chennai Super King made it to IPL finals like 7 or 8 times in 12 seasons or so,
Peshawar zalmi made it to 5 PSL finals in 7 seasons wearing Yellow,,
This guy has amazing voice, can listen him all day long
Very glad you enjoy it! đ
Outro music, anyone who knows where to find it?
I really love the outro music..
Yes, Red is very powerful, that why MU are staying at the 20th position in EPL standings :))
1:26 Real Madrid: Am i a joke to you?
Wait, why does this video have Man City in a title? It keeps fascinating me how obsessed German people seem to be with Man City lmao it's actually nuts.
France won the world cup in 2018 wearing blue, Chelsea won Champions league wearing blue, Italy won Euro wearing blue, Argentina won Copa America wearing blue. I don't really believe that such studies prove anything but mere coincidences and when it comes to football there is very few chances of coincidence.
in 2022 world cup, Brazil won 3 matches, against teams wearing full red. Lost 2 matches against teams wearing green and white.
Just want to add the English Cricket team won 0 Crick World Cup when they wore blue but have won both T20 and 50over WC with red jersey
Isn't there some crazy stat like almost no teams with primarily red have ever won march madness? Like its almost always a team in blue?
The last champs league final Madrid's white intimidated Liverpool's red colour
Top Teams that won champions League have red color shirts. Exception is Real Madrid. Ac Milan 7 Times won, Liverpool 6, Bayern 6, Man united 3, Barcelona 3, Ajax 3. And Teams that won the most English League are Liverpool, Man united and Arsenal, all 3 od them have red shirts.
I thought I was the only one to think about this but I didn't know there's been this much of study and data about colors and results of sports!!
Without any doubt this channel always surprise me â€ïž
FC Porto was the last team outside the big 4 leagues in Europe to win the Champions League back in 2004.
And yeah, they wear white and blue.
Portugal should have one or two world cups because they wear red lol
Thank you for your quality videos @Athletic Interest.

But more fun to do đ

Try to ask people that doesnât like football âwho do u like real madrid or man united ?â By showing tshirt of both club, mostly they would choose red
Blue won in all the sports that matter
World Series - Astros
NBA Finals - Warriors
Super Bowl - Rams
Olympics - USA
World Cup - Argentina
This is actually true, take Chelsea for example last season they lost their home game against real madrid with their blue home kit and they won the away game with the yellow away kit lol
Confirmation bias has entered the chat
So what about the combat sports and the referee decision tests? You didn't mention any debunking of those tests. I think for combat sports this theory could hold perticularly true where red is associated with rage and blue with tranquility.
I think it helps physiologically!! Red corner any day
amazing as always
Thanks very much!
Inter, chelsea and oporto?
what about both colors, like barcelona?
The size of a data sample is extremely important
