Yo bro great great job but there was a mistake in 6:24 itâs foundation. But big up the channel on the 400 thousand subscribers!!
RB always chasing the best chronos sponsor by Rolex!!
Because no matter how lucrative the modern football has became, it roots and identity is still deep embedded in the working class. That working class value of football doesnât match the current Rolex brand identity.
Which is really odd considering their history as a working class brand. Which it really still is. Watch enthusiasts and wealthy people are probably far more likely to go for one of the traditional big three: Vacheron Constantin, Patek Phillipe, and Audemars Piguet. Or maybe even A. Lange & Söhne.
@@DirtyPoul you do know how much a Rolex costs, right? Just looking at Britain, the rich who watch EPL and can afford a Rolex are also probably golf, tennis, F1 fans.
One more thing: a lot of footballers go pro as teens and arenât very educated and get in trouble off the pitch. Not people Rolex wants to be paying millions to.
@@WestCoastAce27 Until around the 80s, Rolex sold for a few hundred euros/pounds/dollars new. It's only quite recently that they've branded themselves as a premium watch, and while they're quite expensive, their entry level models are nowhere near the price of the big three. Patek Phillipe especially is in another league when it comes to the absolute premium. 8 of the 10 most expensive watches ever sold are PP, and 85 of the 114 watches sold for more than 1.5 million USD are PP. Rolex manages 2 and 17, respectively, despite being a far bigger brand name.
I'm not saying Rolex is bad or cheap. I certainly can't afford one in a way that would be comfortable. I'm just saying that they're not the most sought after brand among watch enthusiasts.
@@DirtyPoul but Rolex got the HYPE
@@DirtyPoul I've never heard of those "big 3 brands" until you mentioned them, just checked them out they're incredibly expensive, but Rolex seems to be more well known as a "watch for the rich" to most people than any of those other brands you mentioned.

As I was at the gym watching the television there for a bit, I noticed Rolex billboards among other brands at a golf tournament. It was quite fitting imo, golf seems like a rich manâs sport and Rolexâ target audience are wealthy people.
Same with tennis.
I haven't watched the video but I assume the answer is exactly what you say. Football is a working class sport, whereas tennis, F1, etc are middle and upper class sports. Therefore there's little point marketing towards football fans, and in the minds of the fucking creepy class-fascist weirdos who manage their advertising department it'd probably 'sully the brand'.
@The Sprawl by football did you mean soccer?
@@whatislifebuttheenjoymento3405 by socer you mean football?

Rolex's association with F1 makes sense when you consider that timekeeping is part of the sport. The fastest car on the track is determined by the time to the closest milisecond. Plus, Rolex already has Sir Jackie Stewart in their pantheon of Ambassadors.
nice observation :)
So? Football has timekeeping too
To be fair timekeeping is like important on all sports
@@FF-oo8nz timekeeping in football isnât about being hyper exact. With formula 1 the difference between winning can be a thousandth of a second with a car. In football? A clock could be 0.5 seconds off and it would make no difference. Heck, it could be 2-5 seconds off over a game and likely little would change on average in games. If you are a precision brand, would you rather be associated with a sport needing extreme precision or a sport where hyper precise time is not thought about. Clocks in football donât have decimal places, motor sports have at least 3
@@charliebingaman571 oh yeah i forgot. Miliseconds make a huge difference in tennis too

0:00 Saying Rolex makes the best watches in the world is like saying Ferrari makes the fastest cars in the world. Just because they are the most well known doesn't mean they are the best.
in the age of mass production, cheaper watches can be equally or even better than rolexes.
they stop selling watches a long time ago, they now sell status. the time-telling- machine part of it is just a little bonus.
No one said they are the best lol. An apple watch is perfectly accurate, syncing with the internet time live. Rolex makes VERY good mechanical movements that are Swiss chronometer verified meaning that they make some of the best non-electric movements on the planet with amazing accuracy. Your comment is very naive.
@@ItsThatMilkshake nah the best movements are elsewhere
Roger Federer is extraordinary, a great sporting ambassador no surprise why Rolex always show off Roger image so impressive on their social media and website
And He's Swiss, a fellow country man
@@simonmugoda okey, sure he is swiss so Rolex have more reason for chosen him but not only because of his nationality.
Roger Federer is the celebrity who received the most money from advertising contracts and brands (equal to the total amount of advertising money, of Messi + cr7 + Nerymar = 100M USD) according to Forbes 2020 with more than 100M USD.
Typically, Federer is the first ever global brand ambassador of Moet&Chandon (champagne) and also global brand ambassador of Rimowa (luxury luggage), these are two brands of the LVMH group from France.
Besides Federer is the global brand ambassador of Mercedes (German brand), he participated in the promotion S Class Benz. Federer is also the global brand ambassador of the leading pasta brand Barilla (Italian brand). Federer receives 30M USD annually (30M USD per year, 300M USD in total 10 years) from Asian clothing brand - Uniqlo for 10 consecutive years (2018-2028).
So there have been many articles saying that he is like a global citizen. Not only Swiss brands but many big brands in the world choose him over other popular names. Federer is always the one that brands use to show off extremely impressive and prominent advertising images in campaigns, there is even a section dedicated to Federer.
@@chauphan8377 2028? That's even long after Federer will eventually retire. I wonder what plans Uniqlo have for him in that time, considering that joining the ATP Champions Tour isn't a secure option after all of his knee surgeries.
@@pabloski10k For Uniqlo, itâs not a sports performance brand, and is their motivation purely about brand exposure, or is it trying to expand its target market reach into sports-mad fans and over around the world with his lifestyle.
Federer is a tennis billionaire (only three or four athletes have ever been billionaires), and most of his income comes from sponsorships with brands. Therefore, what Uniqlo is aiming for is not only during the years when Federer plays on the courts but also to use Federer's image to bring Uniqlo further in the sports world. Especially Federer is a close friend of Vogue editor-in-chief - Anna Wintour, when he retires he will most likely join the fashion industry, he has attended shows of Louis Vuttion, Oscar de la Renta, ...Even after becoming the global ambassador of Moet&Chadon, he became friends with Bernard Arnault - the chairman and chief executive of LVMH Moët Hennessy - Louis Vuitton SE, the world's largest luxury goods company.
So I think Uniqlo's strategy in selecting Federer is to aim for his global influence.
@@chauphan8377 Now I understand. The thing is to think BEYOND the world of sport to realize things like this. Thanks for all the info. And BTW... yes. Currently, there are only 4 Billionaire athletes in the entire world: Federer, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan and Floyd Maywheater.

But I miss the Rolex connection to the 24h of LeMans.
Rolex watches where used to track the 24h back in the 1930s.
They still Sponsor the Event and the Winners get a one of a kind Rolex watch, exclusively made for the Event.
They also do the same for the 24h of Daytona, which is cool
@@Starfire_Storm With Daytona it's so much that I just call it "the Rolex" for short. They've embedded themselves in that event longer than anybody else, even named the watch after it.
Wasn't Rolex Daytona made so the racers back in the day could calculate important stuff
I think Heuer/Tag Heuer are more associated with Le Mans because of the Steve McQueen movie.
Rolex also sponsors Yacht racing, which is also pretty extreme.

Correction:
Cartier is also a proper watch maker (and jeweller) and it features in the Forbes Most Valuable Brands list.
It's funny because Forbes it's right there on the list when he's talking about that.
âI would say Cartier is considered as a jewelry brand. Yes they do have a watch line, but i would say mostly people think of chains or earrings when they hear the name Cartier. The same goes for the luxury brand Chopard. Therefore the he is right about saying Rolex is the only watch brand on Forbes list. Rolex is only famous for watches.
