Video is focusing only on the tip of the iceberg, when Kohli actually became a star. But he has been spending hours, everyday, on the cricket ground since he was a kid. This brand building and advertising does not require even 1% of skill and hard work compared to rising to rank 1 batsman in the world. Kohli becoming highest earning athlete in India is only a byproduct of Kohli at first place becoming most successful batsman in all three formats. So, neither rise of internet nor the marketing strategies but the sweat he shed on the field years after years makes him what he is today.

Yeah, that's the first thing you need to be a superstar. And then, everything just follows. But good for him that he plays a game which is the most popular in a nation of 1.3 billion. There are many other athletes too in India who are associated to sports other than cricket. Have won medals for the nation in Olympics but never got the same recognition Or value as a cricketer gets. So, he should consider himself lucky in that prospect. But then, i agree with your views that he is one of the most hardworking sportsperson out there and he deserves what he is getting. Because more the popularity and demand, more the hard work it requires to be at the top.

The thing is we still had a Tendulkar until recently (he retired 7 years ago) and all of a sudden you have got this young ,handsome, aggressive yet a large hearted athelete and the traditional audience in India just went bonkers(cause Tendulkar usually stayed away from controversy). The youth love and have always emulated him. He is the CR7 of Cricket. He doesn't shy away to give it back to the English and the Australians while also maintaining the dignity of the team. It was just the double standards of Indian uncles which led to him being called a "controversial” athlete. He is in fact a gem of a person with utmost respect to sportsmanship.

He not only created a brand for himself but also created a brand for other cricketers who are his friends. He is a true cricketer, friend and moreover brand. He established friendships with cricketers like AB deVilliers and helped him make a brand for himself. We can speak hours together to see him on field and also the duo together. He also owns a restaurant in New Delhi to promote veganism and a healthy diet. He is also into CSR activities and no chill, He may start a cricket revolution and make the sport more or less on par with football in the future. I have been a fan of him since his Ranji days. He continued his innings on the day of his father's demise. He is a gem. The video is great, Good Job.
