Generally when I think of Vans I think of Skateboarding, when I think of Skateboarding I immediately think of Vans So skateboarding and Vans go together like Apple products and technology.

I liked the sk8 highs for bmxing but Nike SBs always lasted the longest for skating, always had my vans ruined in a week

That's not that bad though. I once went to a Zumiez and asked a girl who works there to show me what they have from Etnies. She didn't k ow the brand even though they had shoes from it.

skaters choose emerica,es,supra or "core" skate brands. Vans is just a half step down from nike.

Instead its "support core skate brands" or "buy skater owned". its a bout supporting the community instead of globalized brands(if you want to support that it's fine, but its not because their "mainstream" as others falsely identified)
I love the fact that i can go buy the VANS model i use to wear in the 90s right now.
Geoff Rowley did a lot for Vans when it comes to core skateboarding consumers.
During the 90's Vans wanted to go away from their classic look and focus on more techincal design,since that was the norm during that era. But it simply didn't fit for them. But the good part was that they had Geoff Rowley on their team,who at the time was one of the best skateboarders in the world. He did insane tricks in his videoparts,lots of skateboarders looked up to him...and Geoff always did his tricks in the classic Vans shoes. He promoted that look in his video parts and it also helped that he was in tony hawk pro skater video games. Nobody at that time did more for Vans skateboarding than he did.
I can't think of a better shoe costumer than a skateboarder. Basketball player,football player might have the same pair of shoes for half a season. Skateboarders on other hand need new shoes non stop. Is a cosutmer that keeps coming back over and over again.
This channel deserve a lot of success for their hardwork.â€ïž

I have a pair of custom SK8 Hiâs with comfy Cush and my feet still hurt after a skate session. Airwalks were the shit for me but that was way back in the 80âs. Now I skate in UA Valsetz with a gel insole.
Itâs pretty simple why Vans are so successful.
1) Comfort
2) Style
3) Affordable
Canât say the same about Other brands

Vans has what so many other shoe and clothing brand are desperately trying to achieve: an authentic status co-signed by skateboarding culture. Nike is getting close, but Weckingball just set them back a few years and Louis Vuitton canât do that with a $700 skate shoe.

Should note that e VPS (Vans Park Series) was taken from the concept of the the US Open Surf competition that also used to hose the Converse Coastal Carnage.. but once Vans took over the surf come converse the skate event was taken over also

My ultimate skate shoe is an air jordan 1 high, also vans does some very sketchy shit to have their shoes classified as sandals/slippers and cheap out on materials so they can save on taxes and shipping costs but still market it as a "shoe" when taking ur money
