If have time, Google when they first met. Stephen tells the story on the show and it's like 10 minutes long but so so good
Most people are married. But every now and then, you come across a brilliant writer or comedian or performer who shines in their own skin and completely defies the stereotype of the lonely unhappy artist. You wonder how they mastered their craft without imploding under the pressure. And then you hear them talk about their significant other, and you just go, “Ah. Now I get it.”
It’s just not often you can see so plainly what someone values most in their life. But it’s so obvious that the sun in Stephen’s world rises and sets on Evie. She must be pretty special.
I remember he had a guest on a couple years ago now I think, and they were talking about wives and stuff, and he said "I get why old men die so quickly after their wives, because I can't imagine life without Evie in it. If she dies first, I'm gonna go a month later". I'm paraphrasing, but it's incredibly obvious just how deeply Steven loves Evie (and vice versa), it makes my heart hurt

@@conj764 it was! Once I was reminded of it I couldn't leave it alone until I figured out the exact interview. So I got to rewatch it, get emotional and then go on a binge of all the times Evie has been on the show. I can only dream of finding someone to love and be loved by like they do
@@clarasundqvist6013hint hint… southern men are way more family oriented, deeply committed, and ready to settle down and marry their best friend than northern guys. I tried for 20 years up north and finally went back to Georgia to get my southern man. Good luck! 💝
Have evie on the show more often, her smile and positivity is infectious, congratulations on 30 yrs , talking about your dream on a 1st date, your lucky evie didn't move, change her name and phone number

Love levels go up and down in a relationship -- sometimes daily! Only worry when somebody's love level drops hard and stays there. Then it's time to really talk and/or find a good counsellor!

Evie and Stephen are a match made in heaven Cant wait for ‘First Draft’ holiday cards to see Evie again. Back during the pandemic and talk shows were done at home on Zoom, hearing Evie giggling in the background was often better than hearing an entire live audience laugh 💕❤️

Having Evie from time to time is such a treat. You can tell how much they still are young and in love inside, simultaneous to being mature and comfortable with each other. They're goals, really

I saw Stephen live a bit ago and he does a Q&A before each show. I let him know how much I love this segment and asked if he'd make more (there are a few other great ones on his channel). I'm so glad that he made another - they look like they had so much fun making it. Thanks for the laughs Evie and Stephen! It's been a pleasure getting to see more of Evie in First Drafts :)

Oh you know with these two the story had to go like that .. I couldn’t possibly be any other way .. they are quite obviously still smitten with each other just like they were on that first date and it’s why we all love them so much as a couple 💙💜they represent what we all wish we had if we don’t and if we do it’s that comforting feeling it stirs up in us when we see them together . They truly are a treasure 😊

It is nice that Stephen and Evie have the opportunity to publicly celebrate this milestone anniversary. While many Hollywood couples don’t last nearly as long, they clearly and obviously still love each other. For folks like me who don’t have an Evie (or a Stephen), it gives me a glimmer of hope that maybe one day I too can be lucky enough to find that special someone I can laugh with and exchange lovingly said witticisms that come directly from the heart and not from a place where fear and jealousy live. Because that place is a lonely place.

Stephen and Evie are Maritimers at heart. On another video I've seen him talk about having a boat
in South Carolina and going out to fish and see what marine life is out there. Which is why I "got"
the opening for the first show back from the writers strike. Sea Captain Stephen rushing back after
the dolphin told him Taylor Swift and the football player were dating. And that the strike was over too.
But Stephen did NOT sing Barrett's Privateers with the dolphin!! I am SO disappointed!!! SHAME!
